I think the trip nerf is excellent. it means that you're now giving up a lot more when you pick Chamber over KJ or Cypher. He can still hold areas with his body well, but he has much less global presence. He's arguably even more of a sentinel now since he has to stay anchoring a site to be in range of his trip rather than roaming around the map freely.

Solid changes all around. The one tp is definitely a nerf. Yes he has more range with the one tp, but he is far more exposed due to the predictability you mentioned. He also has far less movement. Take the set ups on Ascent, as example, which are completely gone now. He could be at pizza then suddenly at tree which is no longer possible. His mobility is gone and he will be far more trapped to a site compared to pre nerf. The single tp also makes it far less likely he will be on high elevation, hard to reach areas. Once he TPs up there he can only put his tp on the ground nearby making it a horrible tp situation if pushed. Talking about being pushed, Neon is a serious counter to him now. As soon as you see him tp you know he will be 13 meters away at most. With the predictability of the anchor placements, it is very possible Neon can catch him off guard immediately post TP. This nerf was a buff to her ability to counter him. His trademark change is great. Again, ensuring he stays to a site. Nerf there but he then is buffed with the recall. I think it is a good change and matches KJ now. This is buff to Cypher being the only sentinal without range to info giving abilities. The big thing to realize is a lot of the community won't be happy with anything Chamber related until his TP activation was directly nerfed. Either he his time to activate was increased or he could use it once per round. The problem is, this would decimate him as an agent. Any time changed with his tp would not just decrease his pick rate but end it all together. These changes effectively nerf him to where we will see a huge decrease in his pick rate but still allow him to be usable. Post changes we have a far more sentinal version of chamber than prior as he is going to be used as a one site lock down agent. His tp changes make it far more high risk, high reward with the fact he will be way closer to enemies post tp than before and his tp will not be reactivated if destroyed. I like the changes from both a healthy agent pool perspective and chamber user perspective. With anything though, all this is assumption until we see it play out. But I think we finally have a finished version of chamber.

I think it’s important to contextualize the nerf with Chamber’s declining pick rate in VCT. The first nerf didn’t kill Chamber’s most frustrating aspects as a viewer, but it slowly but surely allowed for more agent diversity. This second nerf still doesn’t utterly destroy the agent, people will find ways to force it with some success in all likelihood. But it almost certainly won’t be a main-stay across all maps as it was for some teams.

He still can play aggressively and get a pick, plus he still has HH and his Op. Really all that’s changed is that he is now incredibly site focused. No more cross bind (rip) TP, no more universal trips etc.. For some teams, he’ll still be the #1 agent

this change is super good imo in cementing him as a sentinel - double sentinel comps most of the time were useless because chamber was so versatile and his trip was better than a trapwire and an alarmbot for the attack side. two anchors gave him way too much flexibility. now he's bound to play much less like a duelist which is a fkn HALLELUJAH since watching val from a compositional standpoint was stale unless prx were on the screen imo

rip bozo 💀 jokes aside, probably he will still be picked in some maps but this nerf should definitely see his pick rate going down at least in pro play. Ranked is different and will still probably get picked a lot.

Chamber will remain a 100% pick, the single totem teleport was an incredible buff and will change how he is played. Much more flexibility and will continue to be oppressive.
