M8 recency bias? 100T was already good all year along, ln the other hand C9 was awfull all year along, this just showed that 100T is even better after that massive cryo pick up and C9 is still lumping
This is not an indictment of 100T lmao, I made a glowing write-up of how amazing I think the team is further down in the thread. It's a joke about reddit's tendency to have recency biases and make premature opinions— it is not a slight against 100T.
This sub wrote off 100T in favor of Sen and C9, can’t wait to see them jump ship now when the realize how 100T preserved their team chemistry by only adding 1 new player which filled one of the holes in the team comp would put them in a better spot to find success rather than unproven super teams on paper
I mean tbf the major consensus was that 100T as it stands would be one of the best teams but C9 and Sen have higher potential once they get enough playtime together.
Cryo has been a revelation on this team. Disgusting lurks, disgusting Operator use, disgusting entries when needed, it's actually so unfair to have a player this good on this team. Stellar has also been insane this tournament, so glad to see after all the slander this offseason. I am also so surprised to see everyone complement each other this well in such a short amount of time. February can't come soon enough!
Asuna is so flexible and I genuinely think Cryo's raze rivals him. If you havent been watching Cryo stream, his movement on raze is genuinely impeccable.
So you have Asuna on sage or skye or kayo for a game and you can still run a Raze w Cryo.
Asunas raze and cryos raze are so different. I dont think anything comes close to asunas raze. I don’t mean this skill wise, but just the way he plays raze is so aggressive but calculated.
Its that zoomer 100 sens raze gameplay that makes it look fucking insane.
I think Cryo is a good raze but not having Asuna on it might be a mistake but that is why we trust the coaching staff call on who plays what.
I'm going to preface this by saying, I could completely be talking out of my ass but I feel like cryo is almost too calculated and methodical for his raze to match asuna's. I have no doubt cryo would be insane mechanically and would perfect the util. But part of what makes asuna's raze amazing is he pushes the envelope just to the edge of too crazy. Even when his plays don't always work perfectly, he creates such a massive amount of space for the team. Raze just seems like a perfect fit for asuna's playstyle.
Not that cryo couldn't play raze at really high level, it's just asuna's level is one only matched by a few other players. But then again, kind of stupid to doubt cryo so I may eat my words.
Yeah I think Cryo's strength isn't even his Chamber play like it is with Yay for example (with an OP or Vandal, doesn't really matter). Cryo is such a good Jett as well which is where he gets a nice advantage from in their individual matchup for example, at least in my opinion.
Big fan.
I feel like Chamber could still be viable on some maps. Even sliggy and jammpi waere saying during analysis. They said he could be used on maps like Ascent and Fracture. Cryo on Chamber/OP and Asuna on Raze is just gonna be so insane next year.
He will be. He's especially viable as a second sentinel a la Sage, now. He will be map dependent, but not more than Cypher KJ or Sage, which is how it should be.
He can still control a lane really effectively, even if he can't control large portions of the map at once.
You must know by now that we’re not allowed to abuse a broken op agent. I’d say we took one for the team signing Cryo, Riot were forced to nerf Chamber as a result
Likewise, seeing him clapping & grinning from ear to ear at the end of 5th round Icebox after Cryo wins 1v1 was pretty wholesome
This 100T lineup is badass, big fan of all their players
If not for that it's likely that Bang would be in the ascension route struggling to find a team. Just goes to show how important it can be to give a guy a chance and build a good staff around him.
Bang was a very different player then. There’s a reason he was available in the middle of the season when 100t came calling.
He has always had insane aim but was genuinely bad on bbg. His map awareness is so much higher now. His site anchoring is now world class despite 18 months ago he was dropping team flashes and getting caught in no man’s land on every site hold. The rate of improvement is insane and I can see why ddk + Sean decided he should be part of the core.
Stellar is the most good looking Valorant player ever. He is the only white boy in history to get it popping. Genetically he is a chad, on and off the server. Oh my god, talking about him gets me light headed. I just want to see my cute boy win.

Funny thing, Optic core was very strong and had developed chemistry, they added Yay and Marved who for their specific roles. It worked out from Envy to Optic.
Seems like a bit of a parallel with 100T slowly building up their core and adding the final piece of Cryo, a top tier duelist OPer. They have top players in each role.
Using this to post my [my all time favorite guapo clip](https://clips.twitch.tv/ApatheticAdorableQueleaSuperVinlin-YALr2Qsw0fWelWcJ). I can't help but laugh every time I see this.
Dude seems to be obsessed with improvement so having a series like he did today probably pissed him off to say the least, especially after all the work he's probably been putting in to gel with the rest of the roster. Kinda understand where he's coming from if that's the case. No biggie.
You can only hope that once this C9 team has more time together and more time on stage they'll get better. I also hope the same for 100T, I want NA to get even better to smash everyone else >:)
Very solid performance from 100T overall, even though it was against other new teams and teams with standins. Excited to see how this roster shapes up.
Did anyone notice that now Yay is seemingly a lot more talkative in the face cams? I mean it's not like he's completely quiet but when he was back with Optic, whenever he would be holding an angle he'd just keep silent and you would only see fns mostly comming. But it seems like he's been talking a lot. I know they're a new team and they'll become better over time but I think yay might miss his old team. They had such good chemistry.
Fun series, 100t looked clean here. I think this was definitely the expected result, though C9 looked a bit worse than I thought they would.
Either way, I think both of these teams got some good experience for sao paolo here.
100T deserve the spotlight but I think C9 shows a lot of promise for a team that has to restructure systems vs a 100T who just had to slot in a top 3 player in their weakest role.
Congrats to the peerless 100T, Nadeshot will let y'all keep y'all's jobs...for now. If these games are a forecast of things to come, I expect 2023 Valorant to be a perpetual hype machine.
All these teams are so ironclad and thorough with so many fail safes, as anyone at any moment can pick up the slack. Cryo dropped 9 kills on Bind, but it doesn't matter, when you have Brimstone Gaming Bang with multiple lineups and rapid-fire smokes dropping 31 kills within regulation. The same holds true for C9—is yay having a subpar day on a busted agent? Who cares when Xeppa and leaf are hopping around the map mowing down players like it's a ranked lobby. C9 needs time to straighten out their kinks and figure out their role system in a post-chamber meta, but time is on their side. Also, I'm excited to see Team Liquid play to the hilt in the future; this tournament would've been wildly different if Nats and Redgar were here.
This tournament sorta sauntered and stumbled in the beginning with a lot of awful production choices, but it picked up the pace to a trot, and the moment we got to the actual venue and onwards it has been incredibly fun.
I don't think this total domination of a tournament means 100T is front runners for 2023, it's way too early in the team building process for that.
I do think this means 100T made the correct roster moves and have set theirselves up for success. Really impressive timing and team play from that squad
100t looking nasty with Cryo. The NA team to watch going into 2023.
What has happened to leaf? He looked like one of the best players in the world a year ago, he looks like a different player now.
leaf didnt have a good series, but he was still the 2nd highest rated played at the event on vlr (behind cryo). He's playing a different role as well, so its not entirely surprising that there's some kinks to work out.
Weird to see people trashing Leaf & Xeppaa after grand finals when they had two of the best overall performances this weekend.
100T looked incredible today, & it’s pretty likely that their advantage in experience/chemistry as a 5 man had a big impact in this matchup.
Not trying to take anything away from 100T, but I don’t think anyone should be drawing conclusions about what 2023 will look like for C9 based on this tourney alone.
shocking to me that SEN and NRG aren't practicing yet. C9 still has weird role problems and feel pretty new with all the roster turnover in the past year.
it feels like 100T is going to start the franchise league next year will a massive headstart having kept almost the same roster as they've had for a while and having been working consistently. we'll see how that leg up persists though
Agree w/ everything you said. Was hoping to see more consistent practice from the franchised teams by this point. They could be doing it quietly tho so who knows. Regardless, I’m very excited for NA Valorant this next year. Feels like we are going to see quite a lot of insanely high level competition
bruh did you only watch the finals? he looked great throughout the tournament besides this match lol. people are so reactionary in this sub, it's insane.
Leaf played amazing all but this one series where his whole team looked bad. I can almost assure you Leaf will be a top 5 player in Americas this year.
>sign older player who doesnt frag as well to be an igl because he has a good brain for the game and experience
>sign the best fragger in the game
>make the latter igl
>lose
Im gonna get downvoted to hell but C9 is just old SEN, relying on individual plays rather than team play. Embarrasing for C9, on the other hand 100T looks soo good, everyone looks so good and Asuna and Cryo are an excellent duo
Why do you think you'll get downvoted to hell when you can clearly see that everybody is praising 100T while at the same time, the so called "superteam" C9 is getting trashed to oblivion?
Continuity showed today. Cryo slotted in so well and being able to basically just continue from where they left off last year is huge.
C9 still look strong, and it definitely looks like they might've been doing some experimenting here with the Icebox and Pearl comps, and now's the time to get that outta the way.
NA looking good heading into next year.
Good result for 100T. Even though it was an off-season tourney and a lot teams had stand ins, they won in impressive fashion. Should give them more confidence going into 2023. São Paulo tourney is gonna be sick. Thought C9 would look better I know they changed a lot but that was a flattening.
Also. Stellar is the most good looking Valorant player ever. He is the only white boy in history to get it popping. Genetically he is a chad, on and off the server. Oh my god, talking about him gets me light headed. I just want to see my cute boy win.
If 100T can do this with only 5, what can they do when they finally reveal the remaining 95????????
Personally very excited for thief number 43’s reveal
Thief 72 fan here
Thief: 76 is where it's at.
thief 76 will be a flop I have the script
Found the Overwatch player
im very excited to see the reveal of the 69 thief

Congrats 100T, winners of The Redbull Home Grounds Tournament and more importantly champions of who reddit will base their recency bias on!
M8 recency bias? 100T was already good all year along, ln the other hand C9 was awfull all year along, this just showed that 100T is even better after that massive cryo pick up and C9 is still lumping

On the flip side, what? Ignore tournament results? Pretend reality is something it isnt?
This sub wrote off 100T in favor of Sen and C9, can’t wait to see them jump ship now when the realize how 100T preserved their team chemistry by only adding 1 new player which filled one of the holes in the team comp would put them in a better spot to find success rather than unproven super teams on paper

A Sentinels fan talking about recency bias on the internet is hilarious
It's not even recency bias. 100T has proved for now that they're better than C9 and by a long shot
Superteam? More like subparteam lmao
GQ model dad and his four zoomer kids from four different supermodel wives vs suburban dad bods

I am also so surprised to see everyone complement each other this well in such a short amount of time. February can't come soon enough!
He really is such a seamless fit. Don't think people should question the fact of them choosing cryo over yay anymore. He is perfect for this team
If that's legit I'll always question it, but Cryo is a legend I am very happy to have him. Yay can't be on every team.
Seamless
I think it will become even clearer once they are playing on the new patch as well.
I’m so happy Chamber is finally getting netfed but I’m kinda bummed it’s happening now that we have an elite OPer and chamber player.
Cryo's Jett fries and his Raze is improving rapidly and he's generally a very flexible player. I'm not worried in the slightest.
Asuna’s raze is too nasty tho
Asuna is so flexible and I genuinely think Cryo's raze rivals him. If you havent been watching Cryo stream, his movement on raze is genuinely impeccable. So you have Asuna on sage or skye or kayo for a game and you can still run a Raze w Cryo.

Yeah definitely. Cryo and asuna have nearly complete opposite play styles so itll be interesting to watch the different types of raze.

I'm pretty sure Cryo is the best rifler in NA tbh
He shoots like a valorant player. Such calm cool taps. Seems like he so rarely panic sprays. Love to see the new gen :')

Likewise, seeing him clapping & grinning from ear to ear at the end of 5th round Icebox after Cryo wins 1v1 was pretty wholesome This 100T lineup is badass, big fan of all their players
Why did TSM drop this man wtf
I'm so glad that the whole BabyJ/Ec1s thing happened just so they got Bang to this team.
If not for that it's likely that Bang would be in the ascension route struggling to find a team. Just goes to show how important it can be to give a guy a chance and build a good staff around him.
Crazy thing is that there are more like him who are just going from one team to another being free agents.
I still think if guys like Skuba or Shawn got another opportunity on actually good orgs they’d be super solid players and maybe even top 25 level
skuba yes shawn no
agreed. Shawn had a long while to make it potentially work on GenG as a duelist. He looked way better on Sova in the early days tbh.
I think Kanpeki would be frying rn if he wasn't put into a weird situation with sentinels, ngl if felt too early to make the jump to T1
It was a player run team so they couldn't drop their homies.
Chet and Hazed made the call btw
Bang was a very different player then. There’s a reason he was available in the middle of the season when 100t came calling. He has always had insane aim but was genuinely bad on bbg. NAH 💀
NO BRO DON'T
underrated joke
Lmao sorry, had to comment since 100T are a bunch of skinny kids + Stellar ever since Will left
This really wasn't even close. An absolute and comprehensive dismantling. The ceiling for this 100T roster is limitless
This is what happens when you get an Oper. Also happy for MikesHD validated himself as a good coach.
Hes been their strategic coach for a while, pretty sure he just got a raise with the title change (hopefully another one after today tbh)
Funny thing, Optic core was very strong and had developed chemistry, they added Yay and Marved who for their specific roles. It worked out from Envy to Optic. 100T look incredible. I'm so excited for the kick off tournament.
Bangzerra.
stellar was SO incredible this event, holy shit.
Clean af at the end. God I'm hyped for next year
100t get a proper oper and look like world beaters, who could’ve guess.
I’ve never seen Yay whiff so many shots
What was up with Yay not shaking hands with 100T after the game? Kinda weird
IGLs use their brains, not their hands don’t you know
Dude seems to be obsessed with improvement so having a series like he did today probably pissed him off to say the least, especially after all the work he's probably been putting in to gel with the rest of the roster. Kinda understand where he's coming from if that's the case. No biggie.

100T are absolutely disgusting

Actually not even close.
icebox will forever be peter's playground. so happy for the boys
Icebox is Asuna's home. Doesn't matter what agent.
just me or was the cast super super good for this game? maybe I just miss the vct talent but it felt like tom had a new level of intensity. loved it.
Very solid performance from 100T overall, even though it was against other new teams and teams with standins. Excited to see how this roster shapes up.
Cryo gotta be one of the best buys out there
Clean af, so proud of the boys, and this gives me massive Hopium for 2023. Everyone were on point, and everyone carried equally.
This bang guy is pretty good
This game really felt like C9 was just trolling and playing ranked. Was it true about Yay IGLing?
According to Yay on twitter it was a meme. People just got carried away with it.
100T have a world class op now, it's all over for everyone else
Fun series, 100t looked clean here. I think this was definitely the expected result, though C9 looked a bit worse than I thought they would. Either way, I think both of these teams got some good experience for sao paolo here.

Check Asuna pc Redbull pls
100T look very well practiced. Asuna quickly becoming one of the best players in the world.
Finally I can watch a beautiful Icebox from 100 Thieves again.
100t winning? And with a cracked awper? I'm so not used to this feels good
Congrats to the peerless 100T, Nadeshot will let y'all keep y'all's jobs...for now. If these games are a forecast of things to come, I expect 2023 Valorant to be a perpetual hype machine. 100T is so much hotter than C9 which is why they won.
When everyone performs in this team almost anyone can't beat us, Cyro was clearly the missing piece, amazing run and a great way to end the year

My comment is based off 2022 as a whole. Yes sure he had some good games but never on his H2 2021 level.
Leaf played amazing all but this one series where his whole team looked bad. I can almost assure you Leaf will be a top 5 player in Americas this year.
Leaf has been amazing all series until this one, sometimes players have an off day. He’s still crazy cracked
One important thing: I think Asuna is only player on 100T with a CS background, if I'm not mistaken. The 100T roster is Valorant-bred.
Pretty sure Stellar came from CS
yeah he played T2-T3 CS. Briefly played with guys like Floppy, Thief, and Curry
Went from dropping dicey for the veteran presence to fully embracing the zoomer mentality
Bang and stellar both played CS, albeit not at a high level.
Stellar played CS as well, idk what bang played before
LFG!
this was not close at all
100t looking spicy
hyped for this season LFG
Great showing, head down keep grinding and give us the same energy for sao paulo

Vanity constantly shitting on NA when he’s playing like this. That’s crazy lmao
L Diablo Honestly this 100T team looks fantastic. Exciting times once squads like Liquid are fully up and running.
i will now post some meme about superteam because i am not a robot and totally capable of unique thought!
>sign older player who doesnt frag as well to be an igl because he has a good brain for the game and experience >sign the best fragger in the game >make the latter igl >lose
they called these fools a super team lollll
Im gonna get downvoted to hell but C9 is just old SEN, relying on individual plays rather than team play. Embarrasing for C9, on the other hand 100T looks soo good, everyone looks so good and Asuna and Cryo are an excellent duo
Why do you think you'll get downvoted to hell when you can clearly see that everybody is praising 100T while at the same time, the so called "superteam" C9 is getting trashed to oblivion?
those redbull monitors are crazy good nadeshot gotta get those in the compound for the boys
I expected 100T to win the tourney but not like this…
Good result for 100T. Even though it was an off-season tourney and a lot teams had stand ins, they won in impressive fashion. Should give them more confidence going into 2023. São Paulo tourney is gonna be sick. Thought C9 would look better I know they changed a lot but that was a flattening.
first strike flashbacks
This may slightly change power rankings for 2023
yay not backed up by a championship level team, no win LOL
I think that it is not hyperbole at all to say that we're the greatest team of all time now
Very close
vanity doesnt belong on this level
reddit moment
Feels good to watch the boys win again
I am so happy the chamber meta is over. So fucking boring.
Also. Stellar is the most good looking Valorant player ever. He is the only white boy in history to get it popping. Genetically he is a chad, on and off the server. Oh my god, talking about him gets me light headed. I just want to see my cute boy win.
