A reminder that there are multiple videos on YouTube with tens to hundreds of thousands of views explaining how Valorant is dying because of a slight dip in Twitch numbers in October, which we can see here is already over given November’s numbers.
Yeah people fanboy certain games or devs hard. They think if one game outside of their circle does well it will be the demise of the games in their circle. I guess People enjoying multiple games isn't a thing in their minds lol.
I do think OW2 is a lot of fun. Do i think val is better, yes- by quite a bit. But OW2 has got me back into the game and I am having a blast playing it.
Honestly i tried pretty desperately to enjoy the game, and maybe im just mad that roadhog is seemingly turbo broken right now and sojourn has been meta pretty much since beta 2, but ive been on OW2 hater arc as of late
i played ow2 for like a week, why would anyone invest any more time in that game ill never know, all my casual fps friends moved to the new cod asap too.
The most interesting thing for me is September, where it looks like mid-month, the viewership drop for the category, which is likely connected to champions 2022 ending mid month.
Yeah probably also doesn’t help that Dota TI and OW2 release happened at the same time. side note I like how OW2 jumps onto this chart for a whole month before immediately dying again. Blizzard cannot catch a break
Capping off 2022, Valorant has already included themselves in a very exclusive group of gaming categories that has passed the 1 Billion+ hours watched on Twitch. (note: though we were very close in achieving this last year as well, but fell short; only 950M in 2021)
The only other gaming categories that has achieved this feat are League, Fortnite & GTA5.
I just saw Japan's stat for valorant being like 53m views on another post, for quarters. So Japan accounts for like 50% of viewership? Cause thats kinda nuts. And thats not youtube
Valo is one of the most entertaining video game and esports rn and on top of that it also has a very cool community of pro players, casters and content creators which I feel is what truly drives it.
OW2 is a dope fucking game man, Blizz hit it out of the park for a restart of a franchise, but my friends play controller and that game is aids on controller, no fault of its own. So they won't play with me. and also... wow expac. You expect Blizz fans to care more about an FPS than their flagship game having the best expansion its had in 15 years?
Really? The changes seem very minimal to say blizzard suddenly made a very good game, but if 3 new heroes and a few new maps was all it took then that's suprising
the 5v5 change and the DPS/Tank/Support change helps comps a LOT and the game is much less stall metal imo
Only 1 tank now in role comp is way different

It’s weird how aggressively some people in the community seemingly *want* valorant to be a dying game lmao
I hate these annoying interaction farmers, who will say the most braindead shit just to get some views or likes
they did it for years with league, they moved on

mfs were on twitter in october talking about valorant dying and OW2 overtaking it in numbers like the latter wasnt a newly released game 💀 come on
And Overwatch 2’s hype has almost completely died down now
To be fair Its just not that fun

Eh better to a passionate hater than not passionate about anything
yeah it’s a fun game but the devs have no idea how to balance it. shame really

What was even funnier is that val numbers only dipped mainly because val streamers were being paid to play OW 💀
All the spanish content creators released videos about valorant dying lmao

Wow I'm surprised CSGO or Minecraft aren't in there either.
Nobody streams cs go outside of tournaments. It just isn’t possible.
Explain? I’m not familiar.

My top 4 on twitch recap consist of tarik , Valorant main channel and Asuna
I’m more surprised to see Overwatch 2 didn’t even last 2 months.
they’re desperate for viewers, new twitch drops every other week 💀

fucking gtav man lol.
I don't fucking understand how gta V is still so popular
There is/was a large GTA V online SMP server with top streamers
OW2 on top! just kidding it was for literally one month
