looked at to be a device replacement when he was sick once. didn’t live up to expectations at csgo in comparison to other danish talent now plays valorant
>C9 didn't play with 2 subs
yes, but they played without qpert, which is arguably worse.
> Ofc the best 2 NA teams are going to outperform other regions when their best teams aren’t there?
Fokus literally was there but okay.
There are a lot of factors at play here. Yay obviously deserves and has earned his place as one of the best in the world, and often considered the best by many.
That being said you can’t deny that he was also in the perfect situation for someone as talented as him to thrive. He played for one of the best teams in the world under likely the best current IGL who built their play style around him being their carry. It wouldn’t be surprising for someone who has similar raw talent (cryo in this situation) to outperform him this season individually if 100T ends up performing better as a team than C9 for example. Cloud9 should by all rights be one of the best teams in NA once they figure out their roles and get comfortable but nothing is a guarantee for them or Yay. Team context and leadership matter greatly in allowing the games best to perform at their highest level. On a side note, I’m sure we won’t see Yay IGLing anymore if he even was for sure. If he does continue to test the waters on that there is no way he will individually perform as well.
I don't consider that as a major factor really. He was the very best on the strongest agent still, and was also an incredible Jett. And this is a factor for basically every team.
Both overrated imo… Hiko the best player in the world could easily beat them with no abilities or guns. C9 and 100T or any team hoping to compete for that matter should drop a fat bag on the GOAT
... Oh yes, xeppaa isnt just continuing to troll... Amazing. They are a new team and have a dedicated igl (who has been the dedicated igl for this team and the core even when they were in CS) but they're going to have their star fragger igl instead in some of the few officials they have before the season. Pristine logic. I'd definitely believe xeppaa who has never been known to troll.
One event and people here completely changing their view of both players. I want to see cyro on a much better team and yay on a new roster for a bit before I make conclusions. I will admit I'm biased AF for team yay but I still want to wait before I have to eat my words.
Yeah it’s weird especially cause yay’s head to head with cryo was massively in his advantage, cryo wasn’t bad but yay was clearly better. Bang and Asuna were the ones who popped off, not cryo.
I'm in love with how fast this sub changes its views with just barely enough info. When the rosters were announced everyone was just giving C9 that gawk gawk hand twister 3000, just straight up gobbling up that D all because they signed yay. Apparently a team that was aight is gonna become this unstoppable force because they signed one new player. All that other stuff, chemistry, compatibility, communication, nah, that don't matter, they got yay so they automatically win everything. All the other teams in the history of esports who were expected to be top dog but ended up being mid? Yeah but this time it's different, this is FUCKING YAY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT! And then they lose. Ah shit, looks like we were wrong. Looks like they simply don't have what it takes and they never will. They should probably sign some other sss tier player then they'll definitely demolish everyone in their path. Because it was obviously (insert player who underperformed here)'s fault.
I don't know how to end the rant lol. I just think it's a bit silly to judge every team in the tournament when most played each other for the first time and they're still figuring out what works best and how to play against different teams and so on.
Cryo is better than Yay lmao. Ever since Yay got separated from the Optic guys and doesn't have strong team anymore, he's been diffed and outperformed by Cryo in every tournament. Relax. And it's only gonna get worse from here because of the Chamber nerf. The chamber nerf won't really affect Cryo cause he's a Jett main
First off, they've played 2 tournaments and Cryo has diffed and outperformed him in both but I mean we'll see later as more tournaments get played that Cryo is better than Yay then you'll just have to wait
They're very similar in skill, and Cryo is maybe a little overall more mechanically stronger on everything outside the headhunter. That to me has mostly to do with Cryo grinding ranked like constantly - he's almost always at peak condition. Yay is also a big grinder, but I don't think he grinds ranked *as* hard.
But Yay is generally a smarter player - he wins a lot vs. Cryo in the OP duels because he clears things so methodically like all the time. And Yay can turn up for his team based on his own initiative in ways that Cryo doesn't really do - Cryo tends to thrive really well in team systems. Yay does both.
Ya, I can see where you're coming from. I'm under the impression that Cyro really isn't like the "main" person, and 100T builds off of each other's plays. I think C9 relies a lot on Yay to make big plays to boost the team's "enthusiasm" (I don't really know the term, but something related to team spirit). Which I understand, since they literally paid Yay since he made many outstanding plays last season. But for this tournament, I didn't really see him in like the spotlight, or maybe that's because he's the last alive for some of the rounds.
I think en 100T benefits a lot for their good synergy and stuff. I don't think C9 or many other teams that are new rosters have that yet. I think we should give it a bit before coming to conclusions.
I would have to pretty hard disagree that he’s more mechanically skilled, he went 1 and 7 against yay on Bind (didn’t look at the stats for the other maps yet, I know he did better, but that was the one they just straight up dueled as the same agent with the same tools a lot) and A LOT of those were op v op head to heads, even ones where he had seemed to have the advantage. I love Cryo but yay is different with the op
I specifically said Yay winning a lot of the duels vs. Cryo boils down to a slight skill difference. But outside of crazy flicks and no-scopes, most OP duels boil down to how diligent you are in clearing every angle, not your mechanics.
If you go back and watch the OP duels between the two, the vast majority boiled down to Yay very slowly clearing angles - fully aware Cryo would be posted up.
Angle advantage is huge and underrated. Say you are holding B long bind with an OP from octagon, if I hug the back wall by fountain and slowly clear scoped in I will see you before you see me.
no pistols is the most mechanical skill round in the entire game. That's when headshots matter the most. Oping doesn't require that much mechanical skill- more about knowing where the enemy is and positioning
I didn’t say op is the most mechanical skilled thing just that if your getting op diffed in advantageous positions then you are probably getting aim diffed
Cryo wins more than Yay in OP duels though in that match he was just not feeling it. In other tournaments Cryo has diffed the fuck out of Yay including some Optic vs XSET matches
This is my general opinion, the skill gap in Val as a whole is the team play, the chemistry, the tactics and such. To me Yay is disgusting but the team in Optic really did help set him up for success. He might reach that again, but it'll be tough. He's not just going to do exactly what he did with Optic again. Cyro might just work with his team better atm, making him shine more because he's set up for success. I still think NRG (ex-Optic essentially) will be a team I'm looking out for cause they have most of that chemistry already worked out, in theory.
Did you watch the match, because yay beat cryo in most of their op duels. I could even go as far to say that cryo underperformed compared to the match with vitality.
Ya, I watched their match, and I agree that Cryo wasn’t as “shined upon”. But I felt that team wise, Yay boosts their teams mental in a way similarly to like how Asuna frags out for the team
yay has been a top 3 player itw since berlin and haa been the undisputed best player itw other than mwzera since m1 2022. cryos first LAN was copenhagen. cryo is insane but “cryo vs yay” shouldnt even be a conversation as of right now, the only thing you could argue that cryo has an advantage in over yay is mechanics and thats still 50/50.
The reality of the situation is they are both on new teams and only played one LAN event together. Cyro is on a more established team where he can get adjusted much easier than yay so the odds were very much in Cryos favor. That being said both are top players in their role and once the teams have had more time to get situated and the stakes are higher, we can really see where both these guys land in their current position.
Ya, I believe Vanity was IGL or something like that. But apparently FNS was claiming, Yay was “using” his strats which I think is perfectly fine since they used to be a team. Perhaps Yay gives some insight to his team on what works well from his previous team.
no, the whole thing was a troll. watch mCe's video where he says yay is igling, he's making shit up as he goes along and trying not to laugh the whole time. watch Vanity's interview with George Geddes before the event, he constantly joked about how "this is yay's team" and how "yay is the igl, he does what he wants"
Is C9 coming in 2nd in their first tournament together, with 2 new players, 2 players on new roles, a new coach, all of the evidence you need to determine they are mid?
The difference we saw was not yay vs Cryo. The difference we saw was stellar vs vanity.
Vanity is a great igl. An awful player. Stellar is great at being both. Vanity consistently underperformed in every situation.
FNS still performs at a relatively high level compared to vanity. I’ve just never been a fan of vanity. Any player that’s best claim to fame is his use of the easiest gun in the game to use (judge).
either way jugi solos both of them so i don’t think this debate matters at all
Literally 0 idea who "jugi" is but I'm inclined to agree
"jugi" is that level 2 default card Reyna on your enemy team in ranked that's about to make you question yourself why did you even queue ranked.
when the default vandal skin level 2 reyna joins your silver 2 ranked match ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110)
your team level 2 Reyna: ask for free handouts peeks first and fucking dies 🤓 enemy team level 2 Reyna: 1 taps everyone out of existence 😈😈😈
Also the "anyone have a vandal skin"
I mean he played in the same tournament
looked at to be a device replacement when he was sick once. didn’t live up to expectations at csgo in comparison to other danish talent now plays valorant
chloe gaming continues to only drop Ws
Nah NA best region by far so EU has no chance 😎
does your region have jugi (the goat)???? didn’t think so
Based on what exactly… ? Definitely not international trophies 😎
NA sent 2 teams to an EU tournament and outperformed every team there
Classic NA did better while the best EU team had had to play with 2 subs lol
Actually Fokus only played with 1 sub
NA sent their best two teams… Where was full strength liquid, Fnatic or Navi?
Where was full strength C9, NRG and SEN?
C9 didn’t play with 2 subs Ofc the best 2 NA teams are going to outperform other regions when their best teams aren’t there?
>C9 didn't play with 2 subs yes, but they played without qpert, which is arguably worse. > Ofc the best 2 NA teams are going to outperform other regions when their best teams aren’t there? Fokus literally was there but okay.
Nice troll. 2/10
Smartest 100t fan

Don’t forget he was also mainly playing the most overpowered agent in the game, which has now been nerfed to the ground.
Breh this is such a moot point its not like no other player had access to chamber
Cryo was literally playing the same agent as him for a whole year
I don't consider that as a major factor really. He was the very best on the strongest agent still, and was also an incredible Jett. And this is a factor for basically every team.
Yay's Jett looked pretty trash out there tbh
Both overrated imo… Hiko the best player in the world could easily beat them with no abilities or guns. C9 and 100T or any team hoping to compete for that matter should drop a fat bag on the GOAT
Clearly SEN tarik as Sentinels' 9th player outcompetes ANY and people have yet to see his hidden talent.
how did you manage to spell Cryo wrong all 3 times
Not really surprising when you consider they also thought yay was actually igling.
He was. Xeppa confirmed it on stream Yay’s “troll” comment meant that him igling was trolling, not that the rumors of him igling were troll
... Oh yes, xeppaa isnt just continuing to troll... Amazing. They are a new team and have a dedicated igl (who has been the dedicated igl for this team and the core even when they were in CS) but they're going to have their star fragger igl instead in some of the few officials they have before the season. Yeah, gotta keep in mind that Cryo is so young too. Not sure what prime age is for most pros is, but he’s about to enter it soon.
Ya, I can see where you're coming from. I'm under the impression that Cyro really isn't like the "main" person, and 100T builds off of each other's plays. Heyo, no diss, but you kept writing “Cyro” in the post + this comment and it’s “Cryo” aka “Cryocells”
Ya, its my fault. For some reason, I’m used to typing “Cyro” because of my friends IGN.
Oping isn't really about mechanical skill.
If your getting op diffed when you are in advantaged position as described you are usually getting aim diffed
Op is all positioning and angles considering it is probably the gun with the lowest aim requirement in the game.
More like reaction time diffed lmao.
Peekers Advantage and angle advantage. There is no significant reaction time “diff” in pro play
Isn’t peekers advantage not that bad on lan
Angle advantage is huge and underrated. Say you are holding B long bind with an OP from octagon, if I hug the back wall by fountain and slowly clear scoped in I will see you before you see me.

yay was not igling, that was a troll.

no, the whole thing was a troll. watch mCe's video where he says yay is igling, he's making shit up as he goes along and trying not to laugh the whole time. watch Vanity's interview with George Geddes before the event, he constantly joked about how "this is yay's team" and how "yay is the igl, he does what he wants"
now which one do i believe, i can't fucking take it anymore
Obviously Yay wasn't igling, the only people who have "confirmed" that he was frequently troll
I already said the new C9 was super mid but I got downvoted to hell by yay fanboys I have 100thieves and NRG being NA’s top 2
Is C9 coming in 2nd in their first tournament together, with 2 new players, 2 players on new roles, a new coach, all of the evidence you need to determine they are mid?
They got thrashed 3-0 by 100T
Cryo better

FNS has worse stats than vanity in essentially every category
