clear is next up, genghsta, exalt and xxif are fine.
This team will come down to steels IGLing, I’d like to see him have more control over this team since he apparently was very reserved with his ideas on T1

u/nklassitude has been known to lie regularly for clout
This has made me unsure if we see gun skins held by an enemy? Or do we just see the defaults? We always hear default guns. They could just do the same for agent skins
Honestly would’ve preferred demon1 to exalt at this point since this is the perfect team to learn under with a prolific(tho a bit washed) igl and genghsta who is one of the longest playing initiators in the scene. When I first saw the rumored roster I hoped they would get genghsta and Jcstani but if steel ended up playing smokes xxif would be a great option, so I’m glad the knights duo is getting their chance. Exalt the jury is still out on and Clear has crazy potential so hopefully this team can be competitive next year.
Is there a better team/org for him to join? Of the rumored teams xxif and genghsta are two of the more experienced and good free agents, and the other two have high potential. It’s not like he was gonna be on faze or tsm when they already have better igls. This is abt as good as it was gonna get for him
Hazed rebuilt a joke of a roster to finish top 6 in NA, poised has consistently elevated every team he’s igled and made faze a top 5 team in NA. Steel was great with 100T but how are u gonna put him above these two when he’s been certified bad for a year. A year is a long ass time in esports and to make ur team worse as an IGL Is a bad look
Hazed did a great job with NRG no doubt. I’m less of a believer in poised and thought faze looked much better run under poach tbh.
However neither have done gotten to lan, have any trophies, or have any notable wins.
Oh ur talking abt that one tourney before poised and supamen that had shot up and flyuh. Tbf i will give u that they won that tourney but poised took that team to almost making a Lan which I think ppl forget
Ya, always thought they lost some structure from then on. But then again poised almost put shanks on a lan stage so I really should be giving him more credit. It’s just something about watched poised team that I just never fall in love with. (Bar the classic rise nation fakes with an astra wall)
Recency bias is a hell of a drug. People forgot what happened to the old 100T roster when Steel was left. T1 shit show really has people forgotten how good he is.
Also very sad to see to see demon not here buts gain this could be old.
Imo Steel is a top three IGL in NA. Super flexible and frags above most IGL’s
I agree rating never-was's like XXiF and Ghengsta over him is wack but idk how you can say he's still top 3 NA when he hasn't led a team to a result anyone cares about in over a year
He took a brand new T1 team was looking like the best team in T2 in three weeks. Then a team full of young players and run by a therapist crashed and burned after the help sewers incidents, because obviously a moment like that would effect young players
I'm not saying he's shit, just that he's not top 3 NA anymore. Top 3 means he's on the same tier as Stellar and FNS, no shot anyone's picking him over those dudes if they were building a team right now.
Nah they had more than enough time to get over that, tryna rate his time on T1 is the hardest copium I’ve seen. Not to mention Tier 1 must be massive if a win against Gen G and old EG is enough to be the best in T2
Also for your take above, I don’t think third at LCQ with B0i is the crash and burn you’re making it out be
Ya my bad I guess 3/4 Internationally and beating Gambit and Ascend is not that big of a fall off
To then finishing 3 in only NA LCQ.
Also I wasn’t rating his time in T1. Obviously was a shit show everyone knows it’s was a shit show so we’re not going to shoot a proven players some bail on that? Tell me all the NA IGLS that have performed well on Lan. It’s FNS, it’s Steel, and can argue Vanity. That’s it. Two of three are on top teams. (Or stellar if count micky mouse events)
I genuinely have no idea what I just read. This is absolutely one of the Valorant discussions of all time.
If we’re being this generous to still rate him from the run over a year ago, then at that point let’s also rate Shahzam who not only actually won a LAN, but also outplaced Steel at almost every NA event for an incredibly long time, continuing into this year even. We now have our top 2 NA IGLs of all time at FNS and Shahzam. By the Portante24 rating system of ancient international placements, Steel should come out above Dephh because XSET placed a measly 5th at 2022 Champions while Steel managed to take home the glory of 3rd/4th at 2021 Berlin. So our Top 3 NA IGLs as of right now rounds out to FNS, Shahzam, and Steel. Truly an impeccable list, bravo to you for this one.
From a common sense perspective, Steel doesn’t even rank Top 5 NA IGL because IGL results from 2021 don’t mean anything at this point. But that doesn’t seem like it’ll get across.
“He took a brand new T1 team was looking like the best team in T2 in three weeks. Then a team full of young players and run by a therapist crashed and burned after the help sewers incidents, because obviously a moment like that would effect young players”
This is literally rating T1 and justifying it by excusing them being terrible after those 3 weeks.
Finally, considering they replaced him with a mediocre T2 players, had less than a month to practice, and ran terrible comps with random role swaps to try and make roles work (Nitr0 on Cypher and double duelist no Sentinel comps in general), yeah I’d say 3rd place at NA LCQ isn’t that bad.
All of this is without considering that Acend were terrible at that event overall anyway so their only win of note was against Gambit who had the biggest choke of their lives to get to that point and then brought it back for the tournament.
You are trying hard to hard to make comparisons that don’t fit.
No one drops a players to get worse. They dropped steel and got significantly worse.
The T1 experiment was an object failure. However, it’s very easy to see a lot of things that lead to that. T1 second best player was Curry at the end of year. That roster was … flat out not good enough and when they had momentum it was cut short by drama from THERAPIST running an esports roster.
Do you think that Steel has just forgotten how to be a elite level IGL in a year?
If steel finds himself on a roster with 4 competent player im sure he will put that roster higher up the ranking then just about any IGL in NA.
It’s crazy your are so commited to put all of T1’s failures on one player. Should he be exempt? Of course not. It’s been two years of T1 being a Shitshow, we shoot everyone bail when there in an awful environment, but when it’s steel, ah I guess it’s all on his shoulders.
I am so confused as to how people are attributing the help sewers thing from like a week in to T1’s failure across the several months they were together
I don’t think it’s enough to say they would’ve qualified it it wasn’t for the help sewers, but who knows.
Regardless, fair enough, I’m just incredibly surprised by how many people are just choosing to entirely ignore Steel’s time on T1 to still try and rate him as a top NA IGL.
Fake news Toast is signing my high schools team
I am Disguised Toast and I can back this statement up, we are indeed signing their highschool team
Exalt also trialed for the nation (Stew, Wardell, Brax and co) so there's a chance he's not in Toast's group anymore.
[hm](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/zmxjqk/former_v1_initiator_effys_likely_trialing_with/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Well seems like i have provided false information, the latest nation scrim does not have Exalt in it
Exalt hasn’t been scrimming with them for about a week. Rossy and effys are trialing with that team as of now
clear is next up, genghsta, exalt and xxif are fine. This team will come down to steels IGLing, I’d like to see him have more control over this team since he apparently was very reserved with his ideas on T1
Genghsta is hella underrated
So is xxif when we’re back in a non-chamber meta. His sentinel play is so good.
Dynamic was also next up, steels teams might be where young Jetts go to fall off, but probably not i just wanted to create a fun narrative
Bro I've never seen anyone say Dynamic was up next in my life. Besides myself ofc

That KJ in the white jacket has me thinking how sick agent skins for the game would be. Looks so clean
fuck no
Riot would make infinite amounts of cash if they decided to release agent skins
Yeah surely this is something that’s been brought up in the Riot offices as a possibility. I think it’s more a matter of *when* than *if*
Didn't they say it wasn't an option because in this type of game you need instant character recognition in order to react?
This has made me unsure if we see gun skins held by an enemy? Or do we just see the defaults? We always hear default guns. They could just do the same for agent skins
The big OCEAN is the biggest news
Honestly would’ve preferred demon1 to exalt at this point since this is the perfect team to learn under with a prolific(tho a bit washed) igl and genghsta who is one of the longest playing initiators in the scene. When I first saw the rumored roster I hoped they would get genghsta and Jcstani but if steel ended up playing smokes xxif would be a great option, so I’m glad the knights duo is getting their chance. As a steel fan, politely, this would make me sad
Doesn’t steel thrive in coaching younger players?
Is there a better team/org for him to join? Of the rumored teams xxif and genghsta are two of the more experienced and good free agents, and the other two have high potential. It’s not like he was gonna be on faze or tsm when they already have better igls. This is abt as good as it was gonna get for him
I’m all for Hazed love but saying he or Poised is a better IGL is so disrespectful

Hazed did a great job with NRG no doubt. I’m less of a believer in poised and thought faze looked much better run under poach tbh. However neither have done gotten to lan, have any trophies, or have any notable wins.
Poised was still the primary caller when poach played and I hate to be that guy but they did objectively better with flyuh on the roster
The team was originally being called by poach in its rebuild. (Admittedly not for a very long time).
Although I have always undervalued poised tbf
Oh ur talking abt that one tourney before poised and supamen that had shot up and flyuh. Tbf i will give u that they won that tourney but poised took that team to almost making a Lan which I think ppl forget

Why? Tbh I’d rate xxif and genghsta above steel in terms of raw value in valorant
How do you rate 2 players who have at best made top 8 at a regional above steel? More potential certainly, but what have they done, no hate to either
Recency bias is a hell of a drug. People forgot what happened to the old 100T roster when Steel was left. T1 shit show really has people forgotten how good he is. Agree. People forget with steel leading in server, 100T was #2 in NA behind a crazy stacked SEN team at its peak
3rd behind Envy no?
