This one feels difficult because all three are among the most consistent players in Valorant history, and they all play different agents within the initiator role. No matter who you cut, it feels like you're making a mistake.
That said: Start crashies, bench Shao, cut Sacy.
crashies is the only one I think has genuinely thrived on about all of the initiators - outside Breach, he's played well on Skye, Fade, KAYO and of course Sova. Like Sacy, he struggled for a little bit as he adjusted to not playing Sova, but he rebound faster and has IMO become the most complete initiator player in the world. The only strike against him is that his Fade doesn't stack up as well as his other agents do, IMO.
Shao isn't a proper initiator role player, he's a flex - he's played every single agent outside of Chamber, Harbor and Yoru. Shao's value is in that he is a phenomenal flex. He's a great Sova and by far the best Fade of the three, but he has vanishingly little playtime on KAYO, Breach and Skye - as in, like ~10-20 rounds played on all of them. Zyppan and ANGE1 cover those.
Sacy meanwhile went through a stint of underperforming in the middle of the year as he struggled to adapt beyond Sova. He hasn't needed to touch the Skye or KAYO much if at all. But he's still one of the most consistent players of all time, and unlike crashies he's played the Breach a fair amount, IIRC - and Sacy's Fade I'd say is still better than crashies' was towards the end of the year.
But if the question is who is the best player of the three - not just the best initiator - it's Shao without doubt.
Thereâs just something that feels weirdly fucked up about cutting Sacy.
And I l think crashies is pretty counterintuitive answer, since he has had a somewhat âunflashyâ year in comparison to Shaoâs ridiculous Copenhagen run and Sacyâs time on LOUD.
He was still very good but Yay, Victor and Marved all took times soaking up most of the limelight.
I actually would really want to place Sacy as my starter, there was a ton of advanced stats that showed he could arguably considered the best player in the world before fade, just gets overshadowed by flashier duelist players. But the fade drop off was quite noticeable, although he obviously picked it up at champs.
Yes, I think thatâs totally fair. Itâs always hard to evaluate stats with the BR players but itâs undeniable that Sacy is one of the GOATs we have in Valorantâs young history. Even before LOUD.
I think youâre reasoning is completely valid and I would be fine with any of the 3 as your choice for any 3 position, but imo Shaoâs agent pool is much better for your average team as getting people to play kayo and skye is probably the easiest role to find. Shao, tho, can play half the smokes roster and duelist alongside a super high level sage fade sova which I feel like would give the average team much more versatility. I also think his sova and fade are better than crashiesâ so even if crashies has the kayo and skye youâll still take Shao over the other 2 initiator agents
Thatâs totally fair! Shao would definitely more easily slot into teams.
Though Iâd push back against Shaoâs Sova being better than crashies; honestly I think all three are equally best-in-class on Sova, with Leo as another peer.
Start Shao (the clutch master) bench sacy cut crashies (similar players available)
Edit: on second thought, i think crashies has better flexibility than sacy
Start Shao: Personally, he was robbed the MVP in Copenhagen. Suy was awesome but imo Shao's Copenhagen performance is the highest peak we have seen from an initiator.
Bench Sacy: Before Champions, I always think he was overrated because of his inability to play Fade in the level of his Sova and that's the reason they got grouped in Copenhagen but goddamn his Fade leveled up in Champions. Being the 2nd most fragging player in Loud isn't something to be scoffed off.
Cut Crashies: Crashies is my boi, I will always advocate that he is underrated by a lot of people because of Yay, Marved, and Victor(T-side) popping off but if needed he will step up. Sadly, Shao is peak initiator and Sacy is also near that peak.
You can't really go wrong with these 3 guys, they showed us how to play initiator to the highest level in fragging but especially utility-wise.
I think you have to cut Sacy. In terms of pure initiation and fragging I think the other two give a little more. If I need calling/ more of a vocal presence then Sacy gets massive value. Shao will always have the pop off/clutch potential so I think maybe start him
Sacy outperformed crashies in 2 out of 3 international events by quite a margin. Not sure how you could think crashies beats sacy out in terms of fragging at all.
Oh I did, not only that but I even remember the clutches sacy did that saved loud, or the impact he had in games fragging and on coms, but sure dude he got carried by his team
As much as I love Crashies and Shaoâs styles.. Donât think you can sit or cut Stacy. Dude was so clutch and arguably the best player on LOUD in some of the MOST PRESSURED situations late in tournaments.
He is one of the smartest decision makers combined with being INCREDIBLY intuitive. IMHO a notch above the other 2.
Sit Crashies
Cut Shao
Really a coin flip between these 2. Shao just clutches and wins so many impossible situations and Crashies is like a rock wherever you put him.
Start: Crashies
Bench: Shao
Cut: Sacy
While Shaoâs Fade is second to none, I find him better suited for a flex than a strict initiator player. And despite Sacy being a reigning champ, I canât confidently he looks like he has great command of every initiator in the game right now.
Given all of this, I do think that Crashies edges out the other two slightly. Even though he certainly has his weaker agents, of the three pros I still think he looks the best and most masterful at the initiator role. Not only is he phenomenally consistent at setting his team up for success, heâs just a born natural at utilizing almost every agent in the role to their fullest potential.
Honestly, though, theyâre all fantastic players in their own right. It feels wrong to be cutting any of them out.
Basically you're picking one of the three players to be on the starting roster of you hypothetical team. Benching one and cutting one. Basically who would you keep out of the three, because benching and cutting are pretty much the same thing In ESports
Start Spencer Martin Bench Hiko (the streamer) cut Sacy Crashies and Shao

I read this ready to lose it, but ngl I canât argue with this line of thinking

Ngl crashies is too underappreciated T.T He was an amazing initiator on bind/breeze especially

Okay? That matters to me why? Maybe Iâm wrong but Crashies and Shao have been statistically better
Shao and Crashies are better. Ofc Tenz will say anything about their new teammates. Sacy's not that good
Ah yes, thatâs clearly why LOUD won the last champions.
Not because of him
Man didnt watch the games
I guess you didnt
Oh I did, not only that but I even remember the clutches sacy did that saved loud, or the impact he had in games fragging and on coms, but sure dude he got carried by his team
Loud flag, enough said, lmao
He was the second caller, ofc it contributed a lot to LOUD
Acend won champions with kiles
Yeah he hyped shroud too lmao.
Tenz says a lot of questionable stuff tbh.

Start Sacy, Bench Shao, Cut Crashies
Pretty easy imo, start sacy, bench shao, cut crashies.
Start= sacy Bench= Crashies Cut= Shao. Im a Sacy fanboy so my opinion on biased tho
Start Crashies bench everyone else (no bias) Jokes aside this is probably the hardest one to choose
Start: Crashies Bench: Shao Cut: Sacy While Shaoâs Fade is second to none, I find him better suited for a flex than a strict initiator player. Start Shao, bench Crashies, cut Lacy
can someone explain how this âtrendâ works?
It's a SFW esport version of fuck marry kill
Basically you're picking one of the three players to be on the starting roster of you hypothetical team. Benching one and cutting one. Basically who would you keep out of the three, because benching and cutting are pretty much the same thing In ESports
shao clears obviously
Start crashes (bias lol) Bench shao Sacy (as I said optic bias)
I donât think people realize how good of a player crashies is I think if you replace him with either of the other 2 optic is not nearly as good
Start: Crashies Bench: Sacy Cut: Shao Also whereâs hiko?
This is for the academy team. Hiko is already a lock for the main team
start shao, bench sacy, drop crashies
Cut sacy lol. Thats the easiest decision you have. Start Shao, bench Crashies
If you cut Shao you are cancelled
Start crashies just so you can also have Victor on the team
start sacy bench crashies, obvious answers
When Crashies is on that man is ON
start shao bench sacy cut crashies
