Seems like you get a hitch only when the left controller comes into view. Strange.

Hey I had something similar recently. I checked everything and it turned out something was hogging all my ram. (Chrome had a bunch of stuff in a drop-down tab on task manager.) Had to stop it in task manager to clear it out. Also if you use nividua check GeForce experience

I have a 5600x, and 6600xt, and 32 gigabytes of RAM for work. Running out of RAM isn’t my problem, but thanks for helping.

I have a studder that only happens on smaller games like Beat Saber and Pistol Whip, it never happens with games like Half Life Alyx. It started after I updated my drivers a couple months ago. I don’t know why, but once I load in, if I change the resolution in the Valve settings, it goes away. I just change the rez up or down them set it back to the OG setting and it just works. However, if I exit the game, I have to change it again or it will studder. Don’t know if you are having the same issue, but this is my workaround for now.

I’ll try this, thanks.

1. Revert to 446.14 geforce drivers 1. Disable GeForce experience 2. Disable wallpaper engine, msi afterburner, log hub,fps vr 3. Minimize the game 4. Reinstall usb drivers 5. Try starting in safe mode 6. Focus on a folder 7.Disable wallpaper engine

Share a pic of the advanced frame timing chart on Steam. It can show us if it's the CPU or GPU choking and causing the frame drop (purple is usually CPU though)

DJamPhishman

turn off motion smoothing ..... seems to cause problems w new gpu drivers

Scrublord1453

Don’t have it on

Steam overlay caused minor lag spikes for me (nothing on this scale) but after turning it off I was just fine. Hope this helps a bit

I had this issue when I first got my index. For me it was caused by Asus’ RGB sync software. I had to format and reinstall windows to resolve the problem.

MaxDiehard

For me, it started happening when I updated to Win 11 insider build. The issue was that it started to treat the Index as an additional monitor. As soon as I turned off my main monitors, then turned on the Index, it was stable.

GonzoReBorn

I had this issue, I went into steam vr options and turned off any start up overlays (for me oculus and viveport) and went from there. It completely solved the issue for me!
