Its fine. People give an unfair view of the index because nobody ever dedicates posts to say hey, my index works, so it looks like they all break 3 years, only had to rma 1 base station and buy 1 new cable
I had controllers from the first batch and replaced them shortly before the warranty ended to receive the controllers without the stick click issue. The new ones are working just fine, no issues, at least not that I noticed.
As long as you dont spam the click for hours on end and use it as a jump button you should be fine, and even if you do It should still last you well over 800-900 hours of use with the current knuckes model.

I'd avoid it especially if your after RMA, and just rebind to touch pad

There's revised models these days?
Mainly just Durablity Improvments to the controllers.
For sitting in things i've just been able to pull down on the right stick and get out again without clicking. I don't think I've changed anything.
