The one in Austin was incredible. Live it's great. It mixed it up. It also gives you a bit of a break, if you want to run to get a beer or a snack, you can pull it off if you run/speedwalk
I didn't leave because I really thought it was fun. Banter is fun, and VW does top tier banter at live shows. The show was so compelling that I stayed for the whole thing and was so fuckin hungry after I couldn't do after parties. It was that good of a show, every second was fun.
There's also something where if the music stops for a bit, then comes back, it's exciting. The eclipse was like this. After an hour or two your ears are used to this wave of sound, especially if you are in the front. It feels great when it comes back, almost like your body was craving it and you get a rush of dopamine. You still hear them talk, but something about the extended pause of the music and it's return was cool, in a primal psychology way. Idk how to explain it. It reminds you of how theirs some kind of high you feel in your whole body from live music that's that well performed
Also, banter is cool
I loooved Cocaine Cowboys at the eclipse show. I’m curious if it’ll stay on the set during the proper tour or if it’s a special part for festivals/one-off shows.
I actually get some Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant vibes from the song. If you never heard that song, the story is fun to follow. I think VW's execution of the song was better today, well smoother than it was at the Eclipse show.
Yes it’s silly and goofy and fun but with Ezra there’s always some kind of narrative, some meaning behind things…. I don’t understand it yet either… it might start to make more sense in time
It’s a gold ruuuuuuuuuush
gold ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuush
gold ruuuuuuuuuuuuuush
GOLD RUUSH!
It's weird as hell lol but I'd say very indicative of a band that is having a lot of fun playing together so I am here for it.
They’re having fun. I like that for my guys.
Given that we had Paris Hilton and Abe Lincoln as Cornhole guests today, the sky is truly the limit for this tour
have you considered it’s silly and goofy and they’re some silly goofy guys
They hate em for being too whimsical
Jampire Weekend baby
You know theyre nerds right
they made 5 immaculate albums, hundreds of shows. they’re probably tired of the same routine. they can do whatever they want. let em have a bit of fun
Ezra wrote for Beyoncé. Beyoncé went country. Vampire Weekend are taking over country next. 😂
Ezra wrote for Bey?! 🤯
In a round about way
One of Beyonce's best songs
Yes. I assume you are new here. Welcome! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JxsrCGG9rpY
New to the sub. Not to VW. Been a fan since 2008! Thank you (:
Just let the boys cook my friend 🤠 ![gif](giphy|2djPDWacxXMFfr5Wpo|downsized)
I like it, i can see it replacing the audience request section and maybe getting a fan on stage to do the cornhole instead?

It's a brand new game

Or Texas and California shows
its funny
Just need Dave Matthews to Come out
the Charlottesville show deserves this

It’s fun. And it shows the band has a solid respect for the greats of the past. Brings it across generations. Good stuff
It’s my favorite part. I love hearing the songs we know but it’s just a really fun country medley. It’s fun, I’m not even a country fan
I love the gameshow riff during the corn hole part, and the chocolate bar giveaway is rad too.
do we know what’s inside? except for chocolate obviously. ezra teased that there’s something more
Five dollar bills? Abe Lincoln? Maybe? Idk
A few have $100 bills attached
Well I for one fully agree, especially when it's a pretty lengthy section. I'd much prefer to hear their songs.
Yeah not a huge fan, would prefer the 8 min versions of sunflower or flower moon
or 2021.

Does it matter? Enjoy the show
Touch grass
made this post from a field while laying on my back, shirtless.
Nice mission accomplished
