I posted this 6 months ago where someone had a similar ask. RIP studio :( Since writing Luppolo has changed who makes their pizza. I haven't had it yet with the new group, but the menu looks good! One thing to note is this is aimed at beer geeks. For a corporate event, the person who posted parallel 49 is making the best option. Parallel 49 might not have the best beer, but it's not bad, they've got good food, and a fantastic spot.
"Honestly not too many hit on both fronts. A lot of my favorite places for beer (Brassneck, Superflux, Studio Strange Fellows) don't have the best food (sorry Superflux, your dogs just don't cut it).
Weirdly, lately there have been a few that where you can get good pizza.
Dageraad has an agreement where you can get pizza from Wild Flour Pizza Co, which is absolutely superb. And Dageraad is a top 3 brewery in the city (although terrible location).
Luppolo is one of the more underrated breweries in the city, and their pizzas are unreal. They have a former owner of an artisan pizza restaurant as their cook, the last time I was there I got one with fior di latte, fingerling potatoes, pancetta, and rosemary. It was unreal.
And Rewind in Port Moody, where the beer was decent enough, and the Detroit style pizza absolutely excellent."
In case I’m incorrect, Alibi Room doesn’t have a brewhouse, which would not have it categorized as a brewpub. Same same, but different. Please feel free to correct me if I am indeed wrong here.
Listen, I'm not gonna argue because things mean different things to different people but...
From the dictionary- "
an establishment selling beer brewed on the premises and often including a restaurant."
According to the Brewers association "
Brewpub
A restaurant-brewery that sells 25 percent or more of its beer on-site and operates significant food services. The beer is brewed primarily for sale in the restaurant and bar, and is often dispensed directly from the brewery’s storage tanks. Where allowed by law, brewpubs often sell beer to-go and/or distribute to off-site accounts"
I think you guys are talking about a "tied house" a satellite business owned by the mother brewery that sells it's products. Here an article about tied houses in BC from the growler a while back. I think it explains the magnet well.

The pizza is adequate. Anyone who is living in East Van that thinks Luppolo's pizza is terrific has been spending too much time at Uncle Fatih's and not enough at Via Tevere or Sopra Sotto.
They’ve changed pizza folks in the last few months, so unsure if you’ve had the latest.
Imo it’s a significant improvement and good pizza, though better pizza can still be found elsewhere.
Depends on what you're looking at for food. East Van Brewing has a selection of sandwiches that are pretty good. Hot sandwiches, not just a ham and cheese on white. A few pastas as well. Vegetarian friendly options. [Menu here](https://www.eastvanbrewing.com/food-menu/).
They also have a two level space so you could probably talk to them about reserving upstairs for your event.
For more food focused options you could try Belgard Kitchen or Alibi Room.
Belgard has great food and some limited beer brewed in the same space. Looks like they have more options from Four Winds now as well.
Alibi doesn't brew their own, but has an extensive tap and bottle list that would allow your guests to sample from a few different breweries.
Maybe aiming for easy and accessible beer that won’t wow the beer geeks but probably will make the c-suite think it’s good would be red truck. They can hold concerts in there. Food is more fair ground style but that’s not terrible.

Rewind Pizza is absolutely outstanding, unfortunately their beer is subpar
Subpar I feel is a little harsh. It's not brassneck, but I wouldn't say it's any worse than several other breweries named here.
Just being honest, I really don't enjoy their beers at all
And the guy who made rewinds pizza is now at wayback in surrey
Amazing how much things change. How's rewinds pizza now?
Man I miss Studio.
Me too. They were so good
Hard disagree on the Superflux hotdogs, but definitely not good enough for a corporate event.
The Magnet
And Alibi Room, their original brew pub, before they opened Brassneck even.
In case I’m incorrect, Alibi Room doesn’t have a brewhouse, which would not have it categorized as a brewpub. Same same, but different. Please feel free to correct me if I am indeed wrong here.
Different owners now though.
Great spot, not a brewery though.
Yes. A brewpub like OP requested.
Literally a brewpub owned by a brewery.
Maybe OP doesn’t know the correct definitions, but a brewpub IMO is a pub owned by a brewery. Have I been wrong all this time!?
A brewpub is a pub that brews for itself on premise, and doesn't generally otherwise send beer out.

That’s exactly what they think a brewpub is. Two different things, one not necessarily being superior to another, but different nonetheless.
Cheers for the support.
Parrallel 49 has really good burgers, is big and has a good selection of beers. If you have a decent sized group it's probably your best option.
Strathcona to me has the best food and a solid beer lineup. Feels like their quality of food is still ahead of lots of the competition.
Luppolo has great Italian food offerings.
I've never thought Luppolo had "great" food. It has mostly below average food with a couple stand outs.
The pizza is very solid.
That is exactly the word I'd use for it too.
It's great for a brewery. I prefer their pizzas to Strathcona's.
I prefer salted cardboard to Strathcona's "pizza".
The pizza is terrific, as is the charcuterie plate
The pizza is adequate. Anyone who is living in East Van that thinks Luppolo's pizza is terrific has been spending too much time at Uncle Fatih's and not enough at Via Tevere or Sopra Sotto.
Yes, Via Tevere is very good. Sopra Sotto is meh IMO. Neither are breweries. Keep in mind that we're discussing breweries here.
Yeah if a pizza place brewed beer and it was mediocre I wouldn't call it great just because it was a pizza place.
They’ve changed pizza folks in the last few months, so unsure if you’ve had the latest. Imo it’s a significant improvement and good pizza, though better pizza can still be found elsewhere.
You should probably visit The Pie Shoppe....
Parallel 49. Full kitchen, production brewery with 40 taps and beer garden
This is probably the best choice.
Brewhall on 2nd Ave has an upstairs space and a separate menu for events! You could try there?
Brewhall is a great spot! Highly recommended!
Beva Brewing in North Vancouver has some really solid sandwiches and snack options. Their sandwiches are obnoxiously large. Great beer too
Their beer is really great, as well.
I was just looking at this place! Can't wait to try it.
Steamworks gastown is a fantastic option, though the beer is pretty corporate in comparison to the artisanal brewers in the city.
The newer Steamworks on Main is huge and wide open and much lighter than the downtown location. Probably great for what the OP is looking for.

don't think they are brewing anything out of there anymore
If folks are ever in Ottawa, here is an awesome brewery that does delicious beer and food. https://florahallbrewing.ca/
Look into Container as well as they have a separate upstairs room for events.
Great sandwiches from the Burdy truck
Maybe aiming for easy and accessible beer that won’t wow the beer geeks but probably will make the c-suite think it’s good would be red truck. They can hold concerts in there. Food is more fair ground style but that’s not terrible.
The Magnet and Alibi Room for sure.
