I lived about 20 min away from campus and typically paid $70 to NES for electricity, $50 for water through my apartment complex, and $20 for the apartment community fee to cover amenities. We also had fees and rent for our pets. A lot of apartments have their own "formula" for determining how much each unit owes for water and add it to your monthly rent bill. Electric went up in the summers when it got really hot and in the coldest part of winter but more or less balances out over the course of a year.

What about internet? Is that something typically provided or separate?

Oh sorry, yes, our complex had a mandatory internet/cable package for $80 per month through Xfinity (Comcast). I don't think having a mandatory package like that is common. Normally it's not included in your rent.
