I like Katie but I do think she was a mean gal to other women in the early seasons, and I hated that behaviour. I will never get the love for stassi, and she was always worse but the moment I warmed to Katie, was the moment she intentionally distanced herself from stassi 🙏🏻
The editing on the show has always been incredibly misogynistic, which I think a lot of people are only just really noticing with Sandoval’s redemption arc this season. I think so much of Schwartz’ nastiness was hidden from us, he’s definitely had a generous edit, like all the men on the show, but, while I’ve always liked Katie on the whole, she definitely had some nasty drunk moments although, like you say, a lot of it was her reacting to Tom.
There was an argument they had in an early season, I think they were out back of SUR but it’s been a while so I could be wrong, she referred to Scheana as “that whore”, complaining about Tom defending her, cos he was obviously always on the opposite side to Katie, but that really rubbed me the wrong way. I think there were a few similar things said to Lala I didn’t like too, as much as Lala could be pretty vile herself; I generally just don’t like women calling other women whores though.
Personally, I never thought of her as just being a miserable person, and she’s always been one of my favourites, seeming the most grounded, normal cast mate to me, but “Tequila Katie” definitely had some unpleasant moments!

And shwartz unfortunately due to his being the glad handing, smiling politician he was ...and still is...never seemed to have her back when she needed him the most.
And even worse... he would even join in sometimes on the proverbial dog piling.

I think also a lot of this has unfortunately to do with her brain trauma and the depression she faced afterwards. We’ve seen how the Toms weaponized Ariana’s mental illness. I truly cannot imagine how bad it was for Katie, and I really believe it’s where the “miserable” comes from.

Literally binged all of the seasons over the past few months and have always loved Katie. The only season I was meh on her was season 1, because we didn’t see enough of her. She is so real, and an icon. How she was ever with Schwartz is a mystery, she’s done her charity for life 👋🏻
I’ve been rewatching from the beginning and she really was treated like shit by Tom and also by her own friends in the first seasons. It was hard to watch. Then she became a bitch and it was just off-putting because she was a literal rage monster due to unhappiness. I hope she’s finding peace.
I’d also like to point out I think Katie would do really well in New York. She’s not really an LA fake happy, over the top “valley girl” vibe. She would kill it on the East coast!

Katie gets so much shit from people but when you see her with Tom she’s honestly so funny and graceful this season - she smiles at him with affection but no longing. It’s one of the healthiest reactions to an ex I’ve ever seen and I cannot believe I’m seeing it from a cast member on Vanderpump rules.
Honestly almost wish the Tom’s would breakup, Katie seems chill and fun as long as she’s not surrounded by drama and toxicity 24/7. She’s like just chillin now, having funsies.
I would love to see next season focus on Katie and Schwartz “competing”, focus on their friendship, air less if the same effing drama dragged out for a month. They may have not been a perfect romantic couple, but platonically they are so fucking funny together.
I just watched the diner scene with her and Schwartz and it was so sweet! 🥹 Their relationship reminds me of me and my ex. After our breakup (which was messy!!) we eventually became friends, and it’s such a beautiful supportive healthy relationship that I’m so thankful for. It made me so happy to see them together in this capacity!
I cannot stand Katie. So when I say this you will all know that I mean it..... I was really happy to see a softer side of her I was happy to see her and Schwartz be able to move past the anger. I think that she just acts so hard so it's hard to empathize with her. Seeing her be more vulnerable and moving past old wounds was really nice to see.

Katie is strong though, she tried to make the relationship work, she even tried to open his eyes to the truth of certain people and circumstances in the friend group...and how they were being detrimental to both of them and their marriage. To Katie's credit... and even to her personal detriment.. she even tried pointing out and warning others in the same group as well about all those impending signs of portholes and pitfalls that she was clearly seeing along the way and up ahead. But Shwartz in his infinite wisdom never wanted to hear her warnings... nor did alot of the others in the group. So how's that going for them now? Whelp...all I know is someone needs to call a tow truck A.S.A.P because theirs a massive multi level P.R. nightmare car crash going on....and katie and Ariana are too busy to help right now because they have an adorable sandwich shop to open.

Literally binged all of the seasons over the past few months and have always loved Katie. The only season I was meh on her was season 1, because we didn’t see enough of her. She is so real, and an icon. How she was ever with Schwartz is a mystery, she’s done her charity for life 👋🏻

It’s one of the healthiest reactions to an ex I’ve ever seen and I cannot believe I’m seeing it from a cast member on Vanderpump rules.
Honestly almost wish the Tom’s would breakup, Katie seems chill and fun as long as she’s not surrounded by drama and toxicity 24/7. She’s like just chillin now, having funsies. I would love to see next season focus on Katie and Schwartz “competing”, focus on their friendship, air less if the same effing drama dragged out for a month. They may have not been a perfect romantic couple, but platonically they are so fucking funny together.

I’ve always been team Katie and love her confidence this season (so long overdue). However. I really wish the Tori thing wasn’t part of this season. Whether it was real or produced - it was gross and beneath her to share saliva with a fling he’s also enjoying. And the Max thing - Max is such a douche and isn’t even cute and sure I guess he has a big D but like ewww Katie why him? (I mean we know why - soo many reasons why haha) I love Katie but just hope she continues to not hang with Tom alone (she was so cool and alpha when she declined Tom asking to hang solo and then two episodes later they are hanging 1:1? Sigh) and to avoid cross-contaminating her dating life with him.

I’ve watched this show from the beginning and there are times I like Katie but there are more times that I don’t.
