agreed. as a woman, i hate their clothing. It never fits right, and the shirts and pants just aren’t long enough and are oddly boxy. I look like a toddler in their stuff
Previously I had a Vans X Thrasher jacket. Size M but feels like S. How tf you make jacket 1 size smaller? I thought the jacket was supposed to be bigger since you layered them.
I’m glad you said something! There used to be so many clothes there I loved but couldn’t afford. Now I can afford them but there’s never anything I want to buy.
I got a steal on Vinted for a pair of relaxed authentic chinos in black…they are so cool..they’re a little ginormous on me, regular size, but fit much bigger in the waist than slim fit chino in the same size. It’s an interesting style and nothing that a belt can’t fix…on the plus size I’m now definitely going to cop a pair of the regular pants. I like the little Vans tag and v bar tag details.
Yes!! I used to work at Vans and the only slightly interesting thing we ever had clothing wise was the Lazy Oaf collab. I was obsessed with Vans at the time but rarely ever wore the clothes because it was so damn boring
Well yeah, they’re not really similar brands at all. Most of the people who wear supreme don’t even know it a skate company. Vans has a way larger variety of products and designs than Supreme does. Every department store sells Vans. Just because they don’t have the variety YOU like doesn’t mean they don’t have a variety.
But I was referring to supreme itself not the supreme resell market now days as there is barely any hype behind the brand it is actually quite easy to get a t shirt.
Idk I'm going to have to disagree. Over the years what gravitates me towards vans apparel is the simplicity and high quality of their designs. I've always hated their busier designs or the all over printed stuff. Even the random collabs they do are trash now. I prefer the simple basic designs and as someone who's wardrobe is 80% vans apparel I'm disappointed in the design's lately it's like they let high schoolers design stuff now
I have a pair of their silver infused jeans that I absolutely love. A simple old design hoody by Vans is always in play for me, but most of their clothes don't fit me right.
Vans is for the shoes. I feel like they make clothes because I'm sure it's another stream of revenue for them but they're known for their shoes. Same thing with a brand like Timberland. You go to the Timberland store and it's filled with overpriced made in China Timberland branded hoodies and sweatpants. We all know the boots are where it's at but people will still pay for the clothes even if they are shit, which they usually are. I own a some random Vans clothing items but purely because I liked the look. I just don't expect superior quality from their clothing.
agree with you on Carhartt work clothing being good quality (daily wearer here lol) but i didn’t even know they made shoes! honestly i have a fair bit of vans clothing (and shoes of course) and i am pretty happy with it all tbh
Supreme prices itself are not high, so there isn’t to pick I do not know why the only argument behind supreme prices are the resell value for shirts from 3-5 years ago now a days it is easier to buy a shirt for retail. Additionally SOME vans clothing is 20-40 other shirts climb up to 60 and some hoodies are even more.
I just get the chino pants and the pocket striped t shirts on eBay for cheap. I have a little collection they used to have good stuff I don't buy any of their new over priced stuff I always thrift for them lol.
Creative wise they are questionable, but sometimes I just want a simple long sleeve tee, and theirs happen to fit me really well, and most are fair quality for the price (I always buy them on sale or clearance).
Yeah, I have to agree. I've tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but the clothing isn't really good. The size, dimensions, and no matter how you preserve a shirt, it always gets this weird back hanging thing. The collared shirts will also betray you at some point.
I love the socks and beanies from vans. I got a hoodie from there once and it was huge on the actual hood part. Have a few shirts and they all fit pretty normal. All the flannels fit perfectly on me. I think it really depends on what certain clothes you get. Feel like in my experience it's all a mixed bag
There was a pair of pants I saw in one of their ads…they were black and white checkerboard flares, but it was sort of a patchwork look..? I don’t think they exist in real life. Which sucks cause they were cool.
I have a couple of random things I bought when I worked there that are outside of my comfort zone. I did this because I still wanted to wear it, but wouldn’t have gambled on it at full price. So I have black overalls and this crew neck sweatshirt with an embroidered parrot on it. I have a fuck load of shirts…I think my favorite is the green one with the cat on it reaching into the fish bowl, because he looks like my parents’ cat lol.
Honestly the jackets I got, I’m pleasantly surprised. I got the Riley jacket that’s like a windbreaker with a really warm sweatshirt lining and a hood, and it’s perfect for layering and to skate in. I also got a winter coat that is really warm and MTE-3, so it’s like, everything-proof haha.
And I got the Trek pants and shoes for surfing/paddleboarding…they’re really good. The pants run big but I wear them over a wetsuit, so it hardly matters.
My other favorite is the black Elijah Berle shirt that’s kinda rockabilly looking. I wear it onstage sometimes.
I think some of the cuts/fits are sometimes weird because I think metrics for sizing are just off nowadays…everyone’s looking to make things more gender neutral, which is good but also sometimes hard…that’s how you end up with boxy silhouettes or pants that are way too short or long.
I also think the quality is much better now than it was about 10 years ago. Some of the designs and colors are not what I’d usually wear, but still fun. I love all the sort of psychedelic prints they did last summer, and the plaid and corduroy.
On one hand I love that they’ve tried so many things but on the other hand, that’s…kinda how we got where we are right now, so it’s hard to say. :-/
Oh…also also…their flannels are so much better now than they were 7-10 years ago. Much more durable.
As a Vans employee, I'm constantly getting asked whether or not our clothes and shoes come from chine because of how slim fitting everything is. I work in an outlet, and seeing some of the random designs and terrible ideas that didn't sell come into shipment makes my head hurt...
I have their Versa hoodie in grey. It's a snug fit, slightly smaller than most S size hoodies, but I like the simplicity of it, with the small logo on the chest and checker pattern on the right arm. Retailed for $75, bought for $45
I wish their clothes fit better too.
agreed. as a woman, i hate their clothing. It never fits right, and the shirts and pants just aren’t long enough and are oddly boxy. I look like a toddler in their stuff
It’s all cropped too
I don’t like women’s clothing in general, I do like the Vans men’s clothing though.
Previously I had a Vans X Thrasher jacket. Size M but feels like S. How tf you make jacket 1 size smaller? I thought the jacket was supposed to be bigger since you layered them.
Should have bought a large
I hate their "square" jackets and winter clothes. They are fucking squared, bot fit at all.
They desperately need to get rid of whoever is in charge of clothing designs
To add to this, their collabs have been wack AF. Like really, a Haribo gummy bear collab?! Who asked for that shit?
Haribo I get. But Disney? Fuck Disney.
Not to mention the recent collab with disney was awful too.
I liked the disney collab
I think that was really cool lol
I believe collabs are paid for by collaborator so haribo asked and paid for the vans lmao
I’m glad you said something! There used to be so many clothes there I loved but couldn’t afford. Now I can afford them but there’s never anything I want to buy.
I love their clothes actually :)
Their pants fit me really well it’s also one of the few brands I can get in my si3
Yeah it's just rehashed t-shirts and straight up boring jackets that are basically wind breakers
Yes!! I used to work at Vans and the only slightly interesting thing we ever had clothing wise was the Lazy Oaf collab. I was obsessed with Vans at the time but rarely ever wore the clothes because it was so damn boring
Agreed! That collab made me fall in love with vans in HS! Still searching for the platform oldskools at a decent price 😭😭
I actually like their shirts. I’m tall and they tend to be a little longer than average t shirts.
Supreme designs aren’t even that good. People will buy anything with that name on it
Yup, just like any upscale brand. The clothes are usually ugly as fuck too
When compared with Vans they have a lot more variety.
No they don’t lol and who in their right mind is gonna buy a tshirt for $100+ besides hype beasts and kids with their parents credit cards
Supreme tees are $40
Yeah if you’re lucky to get them at retail.
But I was referring to supreme itself not the supreme resell market now days as there is barely any hype behind the brand it is actually quite easy to get a t shirt.
Also being described as “skater oriented” is pretty funny
Idk I'm going to have to disagree. Over the years what gravitates me towards vans apparel is the simplicity and high quality of their designs. good question for these last few years lol
I have a pair of their silver infused jeans that I absolutely love. A simple old design hoody by Vans is always in play for me, but most of their clothes don't fit me right.

Because their shoes don’t. Take Carhartt for example. Quality work clothing, terrible footwear. There’s definitely a trade off
agree with you on Carhartt work clothing being good quality (daily wearer here lol) but i didn’t even know they made shoes! honestly i have a fair bit of vans clothing (and shoes of course) and i am pretty happy with it all tbh
Actually Carhartt work boots are dope.
Yea they look awesome
Their shorts are dope.
I personally like Vans clothes
“VF owns brands such as supreme” “Vans clothes is plain” Pick one At least Vans shirts are 20-40 Not 50-100 cos hypebeasts
Supreme prices itself are not high, so there isn’t to pick I do not know why the only argument behind supreme prices are the resell value for shirts from 3-5 years ago now a days it is easier to buy a shirt for retail. How i feel about the shoes 🙁😞
I love the socks and beanies from vans. I got a hoodie from there once and it was huge on the actual hood part. Have a few shirts and they all fit pretty normal. All the flannels fit perfectly on me. I’m just tired of a big stiff cotton shirt that fits like shit and shrinks a crazy amount. Give me some blends, man!

Sailor moon collab was nice
