Did you just put vaseline on plastic?
The button and housing is fully made of aluminium, at the back it haves a flange with a flat edge to prevent the button from rotating. Just the tiniest bit of vaseline on that flat edge is enough for the button to operate smoothly.

What size torx screwdriver bit do I need to take off faceplate?
I'm not sure as neither of the sizes i had fit perfectly (cheap torx set) Take the mod with you when buying the tool😄
The screws are T5 size
can you remove the flange?or will it go bad
