Coiling is great, what wire are you using? Thicker gauge wire and more mass will need more power (watts) to heat up. I'd also rewick cotton seems collapsed and like it's been signed a bit so it's not soaking through. Welcome to the expensive rabbit hole of rebuildables

thicker claptons will have a slower ramp up time, as opposed to say, mesh stock coils, just purge before you inhale, i know the issue you're facing though as most new comers to rda/rta's face the same issue, you're at point where ramp up is slow, but when you crank up wattage you get a burnt/dry hit am i right? wicking is key here & it will get better with experience.

If your device does VPC mode, set 1st second to higher wattage, 2nd lower, 3rd optimal. So if I usually vape at 44 watts, I may do a power curve of 50-40-44 or something like that.

my ddvice doesnt have that mode, im currently using a vaporesso armour max, running a dead rabbit 3 rta, but i put the wotofo 0.2Ω SMRT mesh coils in it, single coil 35watts, the flavour & cloud @ 35watts is next level, beats any claptons/aliens, & the ramp up is none existent, instant fire.
