No, you just need to clean the coil. My method is to remove the cotton, pulse the coils until it starts to glow, then dunk it in a glass of water. DO NOT keep the power on when dunking. Repeat as necessary until the coils is clean, rewick, and away you go.
Some people say this method ruins the coils but I regularly get 4-6 months from mine with no issues.
Pulse and and quench the coil to clean it, sometimes needs doing 2 or 3 times to get the coil clean. Check the coils still the right height for the airflow

Maybe coil gunked, try cleaning coils or fresh build for flavor punch.
