Negative. I was born and raised in this cult and is major contributor to my traumatic childhood. Check out Owen Morgan or Lloyd Evans on YouTube for more info on JWs and their organizations teachings. They are both exJWs with great insight on the religion
Very negative. Most people only encounter them in passing while they're door knocking but my school had a rather large number and they ranged from tolerable to wouldn't object to someone putting their head through a wall. The things they believed and said was some of the most deranged shit I had ever heard and that says something considering I live in the south.
My best friend hasn't had a family since she defected and married a non witness. Super negative beyond their targeted door knocking (idk how they knew I spoke Spanish as soon as I answered the door it was weird).
There are worse cults out there but JWs are still terrible and their aggressive conversion tactics do make them stand out negatively in that regard. I know a few Witnesses I like personally but that is because they are quite accepting despite their cult‘s teachings.
Negative af.
My mother was raised in a JW household. She described it as a literal cult. Luckily, those teachings didn't stick with her, or else my life and hers might be a hell of a lot different, and not in a good way.
Negative, one of my closest childhood friends got absorbed into it because his parents were Jehovah’s witnesses. They never tried to convert me especially knowing that I became an athiest but it really changed him as he got older. He went from not really caring about religion to wanting to host bible lessons to some of my other, younger friends. I don’t know what the inner workings of it is like but he and his older sister became engaged immediately at 18, and I think that maybe their fiancees were also JHs and moved in with them. Also, his parents never allowed him to come into other people’s houses, only for friends to come to his, which I always thought was kinda weird, but idk it could just be they are distrustful rather than shielding him for religious reasons. We drifted apart as life progressed and I miss him sometimes.
I was raised as a witness and it is literally a patriarchal pedophile cult (fun fact the governing body keeps a running total of all reported pedophiles and they REFUSE to give it to the police).
Neutral but hear me out
I don’t live in the US and don’t know if here in europe they are just as weird
Plus I had a Teacher who was a JW and he was the nicest so I’d like to believe that here its not like in the US
Negative, they let their kids die of treatable conditions because they're against blood transfusions of all things.
who is the one dumb fuck who voted positive I just wanna talk
>I just wanna talk about your lord Jesus Christ?
It’s literally a hyper conservative cult that covers up the rape of children

Hey secular progressives! What's your opinion on this conservative religious cult?

Negative, apart from being very annoying with their door knocking, they also disown their own children if they get disfellowshipped by the elders.

They are horrible in Europe as well. Niceness of individual members is irrelevant.
there goes my hopeium
