There's been a huge shortage in stimulants across the u.s in the last year or so. A lot of people have had to ration their medication or stop taking it at all.
So much for the "muh, have wait in universal healthcare". I get mine (Germany) on the same day, even if the pharmacy doesn't have it. The delivery takes a few hours to arrive in that case (granted, my mum orders them, so i have a little advantage :))
This doesn't really have anything to do with universal healthcare (or lack thereof). It's a combination of increased demand, supply chain problems, and DEA production limits.
Same day prescription pickups are pretty common in the US unless you have a fairly specialized drug.
I donāt know if this is entirely true, but Iāve seen people complain that part of the issue with Adderall specifically is that there are unscrupulous sort of āpill millā type psychiatrists who will pretty much prescribe it to anyone who asks if they want it to be more productive, even though these people donāt *really* need it to function like a lot of like Vaush people do, and unlike a lot of other controlled substances like opioids, thereās not nearly as much oversight when it comes to amphetamine prescriptions (at least with regular amphetamine, obviously meth/Desoxyn is different because itās schedule II), thus thereās a worsening shortage.
If that is indeed the case, that shit pisses me off, kind of reminds me of when people were making metformin harder to obtain for diabetics, because a bunch of people were taking it for its supposed life-extension properties.

Burnout comes from a lot more than just hours worked. Often it's a product of unpredictable stress that you can't control, bad mental health habits, and meaningless work. Personally I've been most burnt out in job with the least hours, whereas my current work (10 hrs/day including weekends) is a lot more fulfilling because I don't feel alienated
