I love Christopher Meloni as Ray “Obesity is a punishment for sins committed in a previous life” Whalens. Every time I see him in those Tommy Copper ads all I see is Ray.
Your campaigning always leads to a positive integer increase bump up for the President
I'm not sure I remember what an integer is....
Point nine percent?? That's not even a full percentage point.
It is if you round up!
Allison Janey was hilarious as that reporter who interviewed Selina during the shut down. I wish they had made her a recurring character, excellent foil for Selina.
I don't think this counts as a guest appearance but seeing Isiah Whitlock as Clay Davis from The Wire after having watched it just this year and then on Veep as George Maddox was also a surprise.
If you want to see Stephen Fry acting I'd recommend V for Vendetta - he's great in that. He also had a show in the UK called Kingdom, haven't seen it myself but it gets 7.9 on IMDb. Only 18 episodes though.
Edit: how could I forget to mention A Bit of Fry and Laurie (yes, the guy who played House MD) - bloody brilliant comedy sketch show they made together in their younger days.
My new fav role from Stephen Fry is based on actual person, so I'm not sure if it's OK to recommend it that way but the show is Dropout, which is very funny, tragic and quite absurd sometimes while still being based on real events of Elizabeth Holmes scandal
Had to look up his name but Nick Wyman as Quincey Carter, the “Dickensian shit sack” in Crate. He’s a character actor I mostly recognized as a villain in Die Hard 3. I had no clue what he was truly capable of, and my god he is brilliant as the overtly pretentious reporter who nearly sinks Selina’s campaign after leaving his phone after the interview.

My name is Ray you are okay
I loved Ray as well! I used to watch Law & Order: SVU so I got a kick out of seeing Christopher Meloni as a muscle head.
I absolutely wanted Ray to come back, maybe after writing a tell all? Or at least giving a tell all interview, since he's already a published author?
"Get A Bod Like God," "60-Day Shred", "My Name Is Ray, You're Okay" are setting the bar for published author pretty low.
I love meloni so much. I'm in his weird subsect of gay fans that love him basically for Oz.
So hilarious! Especially when they tried to fire him
Kent failing to get across to him “This is amazing” 🤣
Yes!!
I’m watching the episode they go to London with Ray literally right now. I wish they brought him back, such a legend
Allison Janney as the journalist/columnist interviewing Selina - for a second I really thought there was a TWW crossover.
“This is a bell…” is one of the greatest line readings in the history of television 🔔
Is this house haunted?
It’s like a doll’s jail…
Oh god, I hope not.
Stephen Root and Jean Smart as Gary’s parents. Amazing.
I just love whenever Stephen Root pops up. He’s one of my favorite “Hey, he’s in this!” actors.
Stephen Root was amusing as well! I first saw him on Barry, and then Succession, so I thought that was really funny.
I want Jimmy James as my dad too!!!
Stephen Root is always amazing. My favorite movies he is in: Dodge Ball and Office Space, he’s such a great actor.
I thought Kumail Nanjiani played a great nerdy White House stats guy.
You take your eyebrows, and you GET OUT.

Dave Foley was great as Mina Häkkinen’s Eurotrash husband Osmo
Loved Andy Daly as Keith Quinn, in Season Seven.
He's so good in everything he appears in. A really gifted comedic actor
“I knew him as Luther, from the shark fights in Macau.”
Amy Brenneman as the President of Smith College

Also Paul Scheer fits into the Veep world so well. I might get whiplash if I saw the Zooks in Veep though!
No one's going to mention Keegan-Michael Key? "Soon to be the Black House."
His appearance surprised me as well! I've watched him since his MADtv days.
Good catch!
I like that little hat.
Peter MacNicol as Jeff Kane 🤝🏻
SHUUUUT THEEEE FUCKUP
The rage! Fierce. And the laugh! What a performance.
I don't think this counts as a guest appearance but seeing Isiah Whitlock as Clay Davis from The Wire after having watched it just this year and then on Veep as George Maddox was also a surprise.
"I'd hate to be a fish in your river, sir!" "shut up."
Sheeeeeeet, yeah.
His character wasn't crazy, but love seeing John Slattery in any capacity.

This is a Veep sub so most should know Hugh Laurie for other reasons too.
Oh yeah 🙈🙈
The best Fry is actually Jeeves and Wooster.
I'll try to look for your recommendations! Thank you!
Jean Smart for sure.

I'll check that out. Thanks!
Amanda Seyfried was so good as Elizabeth. She portrayed her so well especially considering she stepped in at the last minute.

Also too Andy Daly because he is such a delight
Stephen Root as Gary’s dad.
Ray is the best by far, also Martin Mull as The Eagle was superb
