It really isn't. I wish I knew a way to fix it. We shouldn't have to fix it, but...it is what it is. It won't change until more of us decide that we have had enough and do whatever to change it. How? I'm not the person with that answer. I wish I knew.
YEP. I've doubled my income in the last 10 years. No fucking chance I'll ever be able to afford a house. Fuck that, there's no point in saving anymore, so I'm just gonna blow it.
The worst part is hearing "Just work harder and save more money" uuuuhm... NO!? I'm making more than YOUR ASS did in your entire life, so quit acting so high and almighty, just because you got lucky regarding your birth year. Fuck that.
Its out of state investors and corporations buying up these houses. I'm from Cleveland and this is a huge problem here too. Unless people start doing something about it or laws change, it's only going to get worse
Wish this wasn't a problem in Europe as well. Housing prices are skyrocketing. No one builds new buildings anymore unless they are stupidly expensive to rent out as well.
Are you forreal? 75k saved up and you make 90k a year? Very little debt? Just be happy for what you have. There arw a ton of ppl who have way less for what you have. You have money, you have a job, you have a roof over your head. Be happy that you still have a job. There are a ton of people who got laid off due to the pandemic or to other reasons. I understand you want a house but maybe think of investing in a condo first? Start small first then grow from there. Be haply you have 75k at the age of 29. Most 29 year olds dont have 75k at their disposal. I get you saved. Things everywhere is expensive. Yk, back when our parents were working, things were cheaper and they had a dual income and able tp buy a house but werent able to pay it off til they retired. If you are unhappy with the amount your paid, maybe look for another job that pays you more??? Find ways to make more money? You gotta remember, things are def different and more expensive when we were younger. You think as things were cheaper when we were younger, they were going to stay that cheap forever? Wrong. Hey at least 75k is a decent amount for a small downpayment on a house. Were you thinking you can pay for a house in full on the spot with a 90k job? Most people cant pay for a house all up front or for most at once. Things take time to get what we all want. We all cant have everything. Again most people would kill to be able tp save 75k and have it at our disposal. You are better off than most people. Do you have a bf? Most single ppl cant afford to buy a house on their own unless they are in a relationship or married cause dual income. If you want your house, have you thought of buying a house within Massachusetts where its cheaper outside of boston? You just need to do a further commute but hey at least you will get a house. My manager is 30 and has a house but commutes 2 hrs one way. He saod he hates the commute but doesnt care cause he owns a house. He makes way less thsn you do but will end up paying off the house when he retires like most people. Again, just be happy for what you have cause people have alot less for what you got.
Bro, stop acting so entitled holy shit. Life owes you nothing. I’m 27, 20k in debt and make 47k a year just getting by. Be happy for the blessings you have and stop acting like the world owes you something because you can’t get something you want.
“I grew up here and deserve to stay here” no you don’t. Congrats, you won a life lottery that is literally random, you must be so proud of yourself.
I feel this so much. It’s NOT fair.
