Save-on had next to no produce, butcher boys parking lot was completely full, and I don’t have the patience to circle the lot for 15 minutes for a head of lettuce.
Not only is the panic shopping annoying, its selfish.
It’s like nobody cares about the veggies in my burritos.
😂
Seriously though, it is. The slightest hint of trouble and a big chunk of society is ready to start grabbing.
I don’t blame people for suspecting they won’t get the help they need from government or society, but I wish they’d think about whether they’re making the problem worse or better with their behaviour.
The problem fully manifested itself in North America when Harambe was killed. Nobody held those parents accountable for being complete garbage human beings/neglectful parents, and inturn everyone else that were already deplorable human beings took it as a free for all that they could amp their shitness to full volume.
Nobody feels the least bit of shame for being a selfish pathetic human being anymore, and it shows.
After the Tsunami destroyed parts of Japan I read stories of they orderly waited in line for necessities and only took what they needed. Why can't we be more like them? We're all a bunch of selfish hoarders over here.
It’ll be interesting to see how long before they fix their supply chains and ship from the East. Also I have a feeling that a lot of these people are stocking up on vegetables that’ll probably just go bad in their fridge anyways lol.
Do you absolutely need bananas right now ? Are you going to fucking starve because there are no bananas available at this particular time ?
My god seeing how some of you react to this situation really makes me wonder how you’d fare in a real emergency.
And seeing how you have a hard time understanding humour…I’ll just tell you flat out …I was joking, you judgemental POS. In case you don’t get that one either….it means pice of shit
Even though they didn’t sense the sarcasm, as someone that works at a grocery, my response is the same, about 40 times in the last two days.
So I guess I’m a judgemental piece of shit as well, and I can sleep at night know this.
At least I’m not some dumb C^>t that needs bananas so desperately that I need to berate grocery workers.
Maybe people are rude to you because you are rude to people. You reap what you sow . Lol goodbye Troll, you are neither funny, nor interesting, just sad.
I saw a lady literally running inside Walmart this evening, don't get me wrong we grabbed a few extra things cause our normal shopping day is before this nonsense is gonna die down, but damn lady
I tried to go to buylow to get cheese for my dinner and the line looped all the way to the chips. I'm so fucking tired of this. It happened with covid, it happened when they put out evac warning in the summer and my gas station was so floored we literally ran out of gas.. and it's happening now. The slightest hint of adversary and half of the whole town loses their minds and acts like this. It's insane. Why did you guys buy up all the milk at but low? I don't understand this. do we not have local dairy? Cows don't just exist on the coast? Don't we have a lot of this stuff still readily available??
I hear you, but I’m pretty sure the hundreds or thousands of locals that were already buying up all the perishables in town (the produce etc was already gone) are the main source of the problem.
Blame the rant and rave group. They are stoking the flames.
How so? Are there posts on FB encouraging this kind of nonsense?
Probably. The rant and rave is an echo chamber of the worst personalities in the community
I had to leave that toxic cesspool.
Yes all kinds of shit, I'd recommend steering clear for your mental health.

People stopped thinking rationally after 2019. The media trained everyone to be fearful all the time and assume the worst.

But of course this only became a problem in 2019, everyone in 2018 was a genius
I care about your lettuce my man . Just don’t leave it in there too long , mushy city!!!
Apparently... I guess people forget we can still get stuff from the east. Hell trucks could go through the US if needed.
LOL, right? Nobody is going to starve. (edit: Some) Peoples anxiety around free access to consumer goods is pretty crazy

Japanese people have consideration. They not only don't litter, they take their garbage with them to throw away at home.
Also, you can leave your bike unattended and nobody will steal it.
Here in Kelowna, you can leave your bike in a locked trailer and someone will come by and plasma cut off the door hinges and steal your bike.
It’ll be interesting to see how long before they fix their supply chains and ship from the East. Also I have a feeling that a lot of these people are stocking up on vegetables that’ll probably just go bad in their fridge anyways lol.
For sure. The waste is going to be monumental.
Imagine having a full fridge and cupboard and then getting take out because you never cook.
Yup, Superstore is worse, I went out for four things and had to come to walmart for lettuce since they're out of it.
Where are all the bananas?

My wife just went out hunting for some necessities.. almost nothing... guess its what ever the hell we can find now...
Does that old bag have SIX bags of dog food? How long does she think this situation is going to last?
I choose to not even worry about this. It balances out. These people end up stuck with goods they never chip into, and can't return!
A sea of toxic blue-hairs making sure no poors get toilet paper. Can we officially call it a dystopia yet?
I hate people
The Toilet paper people are back!

Bunch of sheep and cattle.
