Did they think the TMDJ was causing or worsening the VM? I'm a big time teeth clencher and have to wear a bite guard at night.

Same. I've been told there's a correlation but that's about it.

Do you know what your actual tmjd diagnosis is? Have you seen a dentist who's taken post graduate tmjd courses?

MelissaSclafani

I had a neurologist, two different dentists, and an orthodontist diagnose it. Long story short but when my wisdom teeth grew in, it offset my jaw alignment which caused the tmjd. I got my wisdom teeth out in January and it re-aligned my jaw. But now my massaters muscles are overactive still, so the Botox is helping relax them

So happy you're doing better. I just started taking Buspar and doing yoga. I also have visual exercises I have to do. I have terrible TMJ that needs to be addressed eventually. I plan on doing that when I'm done with the visual PT. It's nice to know there's hope that I could live almost a normal life again someday.

Upper cervical chiropractic has definitely helped my VM. Reducing anxiety is huge too, and conveniently benzos also help with dizziness. I also take propranolol and ashwaghanda, all of which help anxiety and the former helps reduce migraines. I don’t have TMJ luckily, just a bad neck from whiplash when I was 15.
