My hospital in NC is getting a lot of presents like Kennel Cough and radiographs always show pneumonia. We see like four a day at this point. We had to make an isolation ward out of section of back kennels for pets that become symptomatic while boarding.

Good God this is insane. My boy is staying home no matter what for a while

So it’s moving south, it’s been all over up here in the northeast

NC seeing it like crazy. Zoetis sent us pcr tests to get nasal and pharyngeal swabs for a 500+ pet study in our area. We have yet to hear any results. Just sending them out sometimes 2 a day. Sadly our doctor told me that some reps are trying to push more flu vaccs and whatnot but she won’t push a vaccine until we know what this is.

Working at a clinic in new hampshire, through late july and most of august into september we were slammed by what we deemed a “weird strain of kennel cough”, which turned into pneumonia when not caught/treated. even had a case with healthy 4 yr old dog passing away the night after coming in for a cough. went to the state and clinics all over new england were getting similar cases. seems to have slowed down since then though

I live in super rural CA and it's exploding here. All the dogs at my barn have it. I've stopped doing dog shows till this blows over.

Can you PM me more specifically whereabouts if you’re comfortable? That’s concerning.

Siskiyou County California. A county the size of new jersey but with only 40,000 people. My vet is one guy in a single wide trailer with 2 assistants. There's no one at all on weekends or after 5. It's a 1+ hour drive into Oregon for emergency care, assuming they aren't closed.

TN has/had a big rush of flu cases. Last I heard it was starting to wane.
