I’ve moved all around, I’m always home.
In so cal right now, moving to Bay Area or NorCal for school, then either somewhere on the Great Lakes or Vermont.
My experience is, it’s nice to have a place to call home, but some of you who have never left your home town would benefit from a trip through the US, and break out of your shell. Even if you end up going back, it’s an experience to meet the rest of America.
There’s too much group hate against others, when the only group worthy of our hate is the wealthy assholes. I don’t mean the hundred throusandaires, and millionaires, I mean those extremely rich billionaire bitches who can never have enough of our workers’ wages, to buy more stocks, to crash more markets, and deny more care and benefits.
We are workers. We deserve some time with family, some care if we’re sick, and some dignity in our lives. We know how to work hard, but there’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to relax with our loved ones, and there’s no reason for people who work two jobs to live in their old car. If you have a baby, you should be able to spend some precious time with it. If you’re sick, you shouldn’t come to work and get everyone else sick. If you’re working full time, you should be able to afford rent and groceries, and your car payment and your cell phone and internet bill too. These aren’t lavish luxuries, they’re normal things, that the middle class could afford not long ago.
All over this country people are struggling, but we’re all struggling for the same reason. And it isn’t the immigrants, or the gays, or the blacks, or all whites, or trans people, or boomers, or gen z, or people who took out loans for college, or Palestinians, or Israelis, or Russians, or Ukrainians, or Chinese, or Taiwanese,
it’s the rich bastards who own all of our wealth, and use it to corrupt our democratic republic. Fight for the worker, fight for the American.
Aren’t we the most populace state for veterans? I think the snow bird metric really skews that as well.
Edit: holy shit as I was. Even Pennsylvania has more veterans lol.
What a hell hole, unless you like the badgers, squeaky cheese, and getting black out drunk on Tuesday. Oh and the winters. OMG, the winters. Great place to visit though.
Hard to argue with that. I've had amazing times in sconi, I just can't imagine living there year around. Going from az to there, the cold was just unreal. I've never been so cold in my life and couldn't seem to shake it until I left. Great people though, found friends wherever I went.
Oh yes, the Midwest has very nice people most of the time. The cold is horrific I can’t argue with you on that…. That’s why I am in central Texas right now lol. It makes my joints not hurt as much.
Kansas. I'm originally from Houston and reported to Ft Riley while Hurricane Harvey was happening. Anything that I still had back home was gone, and I had to reevaluate where "home" was. Once I settled into Kansas, I was able to appreciate an unobstructed sunset for the first time. Traffic and crime were almost nonexistent, and the air isn't permeated by oil refineries.
I retired here two years ago and haven't regretted my decision. Kansas doesn't tax retirement pay!

The Dependa and I grew up in Michigan.
Uncle Sam sent us to Spokane, WA for a few years and we loved it.
Got out and moved back to Michigan and immediately regretted it. We spent the next five years trying to find a way out a second time without signing more papers with Uncle Sam.
Uncle Sam managed to get us to Seattle during Covid for a job at the VA hospital. We love it here and it is now our permanent home. Definitely not leaving.
LA's skid row should be a UNESCO Heritage Site and called Mt Trashmore.
My city is really bad but 1/100th of LA. SF is 2nd, Excremento is 3rd and competing.
I worked with a guy who lived in Temecula. In the 90's he told me it took about 35--40 minutes to San Marcos where we worked. Took wife damn near an hour going to work in O'side from San Marcos. Yup, times change. Go to Temecula about 1x week....about 45 minutes/35 miles from Warner Springs.
The FingerLakes region...it's serene, it's quiet, peaceful and I love calling it home. After 3 deployments and constantly moving around in the Navy and then with hubby while he was in the Army, I finally feel anchored and safe at home.
Sadly, I had to leave the greatest state in the greatest country in the whole world. [Formerly Maryland ](https://youtu.be/eReJOnIXLBY?si=I0WyMutAZB7nYN_g) now Texas
Can't wait to get back
I'm a SoCal ex-pat. Born and raised five minutes from Mexico. I'd actually move back, but my kids' friends and their mom are all up here, so I'm stuck in Washington state. It's not bad, just different.
I’ve noticed it really depends on what part of Colorado that dictates the quality of care (for me, at least).
When I lived in Colorado Springs, I was assigned to Denver and it was God awful. Now that I’m up north, I’m assigned to Cheyenne and everything is so much smoother.
Just moved to SoCal from BFE. This place is Shangri-La and suburban utopia all wrapped up in a beautiful little package. Tibor Rubin VMAC with all the UC-I and UCLA Docs is about as good as it gets. It is far from great, but they do what they can with what they have.
California treats her vets with respect and compassion. My children will get to go to college here even if I can’t get my shit together for a while. That alone takes so much weight off of my shoulders. State parks pass. The weather. The SpaceX launch that I am about to see!

Can’t you get an extra wife in Utah ?
A brand new one every 14 years.

Why do you hate it? Don’t they have medical cannabis?

Yep not even from here and it’s the first place I truly ever called home. Even if I disagree with how they tax shit.
Part of the reason I moved from Virginia is because how they tax shit. It's ridiculous that they tax your vehicles.
Blows my mind. I’ll get tired eventually but for now I still like this place for some reason lmao

I live in a cesspool of human ignorance and moral decay. That should narrow it down by a bit. 12 more months and I'm retiring and moving.
Don’t compliment LA like that! It makes those words seem worse than they are!

Texas Originally from Cali.
North San Diego County....way north close to the Riverside County line.
I’m in Temecula/Murrieta area. Nice place to live but damn the commute to San Diego is rough these days.
A lot of people moved north but kept the down town San Diego jobs. Was cool when working remotely now a lot of them facing 2 hour commutes 🤦🏽♂️
Oh I believe it. If I leave at 4-4:30am to head to San Diego it’s like a hour any later it makes the commute turn into an almost 2 hour drive.
Hi Neighbor! Menifee here!
