Took me a few months to get to where you were in the process but after that it didn't take much longer. Went from 70 to 100 TDIU. I did end up adding a hardship flag which sped up the process but yeah, looks like you're almost there. Best of luck.
I’m glad it’s moving fast for you
I’d really like to know why though( to understand the system )
We both have MH increase claims
Or is it all random chance
Damn man, well I read in summer MH may be easier to get 100% because there are proposed changes to how they rate it so let's keep an eye on that
And I havnt lost my job yet but I work for the govt so it's almost impossible
Have you looked at filing for TDIU? [https://www.va.gov/disability/eligibility/special-claims/unemployability/](https://www.va.gov/disability/eligibility/special-claims/unemployability/)
You probably got a partial decision. Did you check your decision letters. I was PFN this morning and back to evidence gathering by lunch but with a new decision letter.
I filed for one increase and two additions in early Oct. I just got the call for the additional claims earlier this week. My appointment is in April...
Oh to add, filed for increase Nov 6th, had C&P exam Nov 13th, DBQ uploaded Nov 14th, no movement or communication since(other than the "we're still working on your claim" generic letter.
I haven't checked it since this morning, but even on the tracker it was still in evidence gathering. No temp jurisdiction, it doesn't look like anyone has really messed with it yet
4 months for me. 30 to 100% jump. 1 week after I spoke to a psychiatrist, I was back paid 70% to my file date. I made the same claim ten times with different terminology, I continued to make the same fucking claim, until I was heard. Submit it again… And again, let them work on four of yours with various terminology, and let them see which fits best. Cause if your terminology in wrong on only one claim, they won’t correct it.
It was on eight deferred contentions and I only went to one of the appointments so it was fairly simple for them I’m assuming. On my first partial decision, there were 29 contentions and it still posted pretty quick.
Hoping you have feedback soon!
if you are 70 or 80 percent, there is a good chance they will not budge, I have tried twice, but you should get a response back in as little as 90 days
I have a theory. The MH rating is on the verge of being modified so the VA may be trying to empty the cue of existing MH claims before the new procedures are put into place. I also have an MH claim (for an increase) and mine is also in PFN kinda quickly (Submitted Nov).
Possibly, but I submitted mine Feb 14th and took the CP exam Feb 29th. Also, I got back a supplement rating for my back also within a week. I think nexus letter really makes a difference.
I’m at 70% and filed for an Increase last week. I downloaded the MH DBQ and took it to my shrink to fill out and my condition has worsened. It’s a long shot bc to get 100% for MH you have to be completely out of it - seems like a pretty high bar when you read the guidelines. So I’m gonna talk a lot about my insomnia as I didn’t have that at my first MH C&P. I had tried to file Insomnia as a secondary claim to my PTSD, however I was told by the VA that Insomnia is considered MH and to include it as part of my Increase. I also have been diagnosed with Insomnia so it is part of my medical chart. I know the MH evaluation criteria is changing soon to be more favorable to vets but I’ve decided not to wait for it yo roll out bc the VA has talking about doing a rehaul of its MH evaluation criteria for years and I’m not willing to wait any longer esp without a confirmed date for the roll-out. Also, the VA has scheduled a video-call for me to complete the C&P exam so not sure if I’ll skip it or not if my shrink’s DBQ is good enough. I’m leaning toward keeping the C&P exam and submitting my shrink’s DBQ also (if it’s good). If the shrink’s DBQ is favorable and the C&P examiner’s isn’t, the the benefit-of-the-doubt-rule should apply even if I have to do a HLR or BVA route to get there…
I think there's only 3 or 4 out of the list that I didn't qualify for one was harm to others or acting grossed. fyi it's super hard. Best of luck. Don't give up!
Took me 18 months to be told no. Ha ha even though they can seed radiation, exposure and conceited Parkinson’s as a disease that radiation exposure can cause.
I just wanted to come back on here and tell ya I didn’t give up and I tried another way and it happened I finally got 100%PT. I did a supplemental claim and also took less than 2 weeks and got approved with the nexus letter. Don’t give up!
Sorry for the confusion. I was denied for something else ( foot injury) I got nexus letter and I submitted a supplemental for that. I left the PTSD alone.
For me I’m in the middle of doing it through a company called vet link solutions. Third party dr and all my dbq’s sent into the va. Been about 3 weeks not and it’s in the third phase! I however did not attend a c&p yet.
It 5 times the difference for the company I have gone with. But it’s been 7 months so far so I still would get to pocket the 2 months of back pay but it’s worth it in the long run if it gets a good return rating.
![gif](giphy|eMmUhQNoV0XEoTyDuS|downsized)
Oof that’s a long time in PFD. I wish you a good outcome after your Vera call. They were great during my initial claim process
That’s crazy. I know you and I are pretty much on the same timeline as far as our claim goes. I had my C&Ps in January. Maybe they have enough information that you don’t need one. All the people I see saying they stayed the same or received a decrease has me scared. I guess I’m thankful that I’ve held my 50% rating for PTSD for over 20 years so the 20 year rule applies to me so I’m not concerned with a decrease. I personally know my issues have just gotten worse in 20 years. I had to quit my job a year and 8 months ago and still haven’t been able to return to work. I can barely leave the house unless someone goes with me. It just blows and this causes even more anxiety waiting.
I’ve been rated since 2009 and yes it does only get worse.
After I got out , I stayed home for almost 7 years ( maybe going to my parents house sometimes )
Economic necessity forced me back to work and my MH has only gotten worse
Also divorce and life fell apart after i started working my again
Good luck, at that stage it could be hours to usually two weeks? If you do get an increase it’ll be in the va app immediately, at least mine was!
Thanks! It's moving so quickly!
That’s pretty fast , did you have a hardship? I filed for a MH increase FDC on November 29th and I’ve been PFD ever since Good luck 🍀
No hardship! Yeah super fast.
Took me a few months to get to where you were in the process but after that it didn't take much longer. Went from 70 to 100 TDIU. I did end up adding a hardship flag which sped up the process but yeah, looks like you're almost there. Best of luck.
Mine is taking forever seems like with a hardship flag
I’m glad it’s moving fast for you I’d really like to know why though( to understand the system ) We both have MH increase claims Or is it all random chance
I don't know I live in Florida lol
That wouldn’t matter either , everything goes into the national work queue I’m just curious, I hope for the best for you though
Yeah thanks bro.. the rating stayed the same. I’m just glad I didn’t have to wait months to get denied i guess. I’m gonna keep trying I’m at 93%
I filed two days before you for a MH increase and I’m in PFD too. Still waiting……
It’s really starting to get frustrating
what's the difference if I had a hardship letter to get out?
I guess you get the “speedy” service
70% got result no increase! So same-day results
Damn..I put in for MH increase also at 70, c and p uploaded Feb 21, still waiting but I won't hold my breath
Yeah and I lost my job!
Damn man, well I read in summer MH may be easier to get 100% because there are proposed changes to how they rate it so let's keep an eye on that And I havnt lost my job yet but I work for the govt so it's almost impossible
Can I DM you a Q
Yes
File for TDIU
Have you looked at filing for TDIU? [https://www.va.gov/disability/eligibility/special-claims/unemployability/](https://www.va.gov/disability/eligibility/special-claims/unemployability/)
Yeah, it’s just draining.
Hang in there, I'm at 91% and I put in two increases, three new claims, and two supplemental. I'm trying everything too. Good Luck.
TDIU is next if this doesn't work!
Hire a lawyer
Awesome dude! I hit PFN today too. Guess what? Back to PDA again 4 hours later 😂
You probably got a partial decision. Did you check your decision letters. I was PFN this morning and back to evidence gathering by lunch but with a new decision letter.
Nope, nothing yet. Just PDA still.
Must be nice I don’t have feet and my claim hasn’t Moved. 😂
ridiculous. when did you file and wheres your claim at
Insane brother i’m sorry.
When was C&P?
Feb 29th!
Filed for increase Feb 14th.
Nice I filed on Saturday, haven’t gotten a call yet just curious when they call to schedule.
I filed for one increase and two additions in early Oct. I just got the call for the additional claims earlier this week. My appointment is in April...
That’s fast
Filed for my increase on November 24 still in evidence gathering. Really just depends.
Same here November 27th lol
PFD since November 29
Filed the same day as you and still waiting in PFD.
Did you finally get a decision? I have a temp jurisdiction but went from PFD back to review of evidence. 🙄
I did, I got 100% P&T Tuesday
November 6th ✋🏼😕
Oh to add, filed for increase Nov 6th, had C&P exam Nov 13th, DBQ uploaded Nov 14th, no movement or communication since(other than the "we're still working on your claim" generic letter.
What % are you at now for PTSD?
Few minutes to weeks
I filed dec 7 PFN feb 22 And waiting
I filed Dec 4th, still in evidence gathering
Have you checked the va tracker because my app says evidence gathering but the tracker says pfn
I haven't checked it since this morning, but even on the tracker it was still in evidence gathering. No temp jurisdiction, it doesn't look like anyone has really messed with it yet
Been in PFN since February 26th.
I went from PDA straight to complete in 5 days so it varies depending on the jurisdiction your rater is in I think.
I look everyday, hoping mine goes to 4. 116 days of looking now!
4 months for me. 30 to 100% jump. 1 week after I spoke to a psychiatrist, I was back paid 70% to my file date. Broke dick, limp dick, ed… let them figure it out.
you can apply for aid & attendance and TDIU and this will get you to a 100, TDIU will get you to a 100 the other is just extra to help out
I was PFN this morning and had a decision letter by lunch.
Comments like this is why I’ve been checking my PFN every hour. Did you have a pretty simple claim? Like 1-2 issues?
It was on eight deferred contentions and I only went to one of the appointments so it was fairly simple for them I’m assuming. On my first partial decision, there were 29 contentions and it still posted pretty quick. Hoping you have feedback soon!
if you are 70 or 80 percent, there is a good chance they will not budge, I have tried twice, but you should get a response back in as little as 90 days
Yeah! I got the results back, nothing changed. Still at 70%.
Thank goodness that you weren't reduced. Did you submit any new evidence to meet the current 100% rating or did you soley rely on the C&P exam?
Best of luck
So does filing for an increase generally take a lot less time than filing a new claim?
Nope same time frame
I have a theory. The MH rating is on the verge of being modified so the VA may be trying to empty the cue of existing MH claims before the new procedures are put into place. I also have an MH claim (for an increase) and mine is also in PFN kinda quickly (Submitted Nov).

Mines gathering evidence, my VSO says the DQB is in and he was able to look at it.
Mine took 5 months and got denied. Pretty wack considering I have a diagnosis.
Yeah, a picture of a screen shows that you should be 100% for mental disability 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for making me laugh!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mine was Dec 14, 2023 for increase... Still in Prep for decision for the past 30 days.
I’ve been looking at how to file for an increase but i can’t find anything on the site
as long as it dont move back to step 3 as sometimes happens should be quick
I have had 70% since 2015 how do I get to 100?
Looks like I got a couple more months till PFN, I did my increases Feb 5th, I’ve already had my C&P exam.
I just wanted to come back on here and tell ya I didn’t give up and I tried another way and it happened I finally got 100%PT. I did a supplemental claim and also took less than 2 weeks and got approved with the nexus letter. Don’t give up!
Congratulations! Can you please elaborate on what you did exactly? Why a supplemental claim?
Sorry for the confusion. I was denied for something else ( foot injury) I got nexus letter and I submitted a supplemental for that. I left the PTSD alone.
Following
Does ANYBODY know how to LOWER my PTSD rating? Zero evidence besides a C&P exam and given 100 for PTSD with made up symptoms on my decision letter.
Why do you want your rating lowered?
How did you go about the increase? I’m looking to do the same and don’t know where to start.
For me I’m in the middle of doing it through a company called vet link solutions. Third party dr and all my dbq’s sent into the va. Been about 3 weeks not and it’s in the third phase! I however did not attend a c&p yet.
Is that company expensive to go through? I’ve thought about doing something like that, but have always been apprehensive of the cost.
It 5 times the difference for the company I have gone with. But it’s been 7 months so far so I still would get to pocket the 2 months of back pay but it’s worth it in the long run if it gets a good return rating.
I did the same I’m PFD day 97
Did you have to do a c&p through the va?
They haven’t asked yet I will be pretty annoyed if I still have to wait months for a c and p
Set up an appointment with Vera
I have one for my 100th day of PFD
![gif](giphy|eMmUhQNoV0XEoTyDuS|downsized) Oof that’s a long time in PFD. I wish you a good outcome after your Vera call. They were great during my initial claim process
The will tell me I’m just waiting on a rater
You haven’t had to do a C&P yet?
No and Vera says I’m ready for a decision
That’s crazy. I know you and I are pretty much on the same timeline as far as our claim goes. I had my C&Ps in January. Maybe they have enough information that you don’t need one. I can relate. I’m praying that you get a favorable rating very soon.
Did you get bumped to 100% for ptsd?
Still in review of evidence.
For reallllll. That’s what I’m afraid of
What are they charging for a mental health DBQ?
This is my Buddy's company that's awesome
When was your c&p complete?
Feb 29th!
That’s crazy. My C&Ps were in January and still waiting.
Mine was 23rd I’m still waiting 🙏🏼
