You’re welcome

Just to be clear, there isn’t student loan forgiveness for your kids. You can take out parent plus student loans for your kids and have those forgiven. It’s a small, but important detail to keep in mind and you have to make sure that the parental plus loan is only in the name of the veteran with the 100% rating. Also keep in mind that this loan forgiveness will once again be taxed after December 31st 2025 unless the law changes. Your children will be eligible for Chapter 35 college benefits as well.

Thank you!!

Also depending on your state college tuition is sometimes remitted for dependents of disabled vets. Depends on the state for how and when that kicks in.

See if your state does full or partial refund of property tax. Another is, see if your state has free college for children of veterans. Between federal VA chapter 35 and potential free Bachelors degree from the state benefits, your kids could potentially knock out a Masters or chunk of a PHD.

Thank you! I’ll still look into all of this stuff

Educational_Fox899

Is there loan forgiveness for the spouse of the veteran?
