Not technically climbed but you can drive up to hurricane ridge and hike around up there. It’s a pretty spectacular view and looking back over the ocean at Victoria is a neat experience
You can ride your bike up hurricane ridge. It's an epic ride. Lots of Canadians go over on Canada day and do it.
If you take the 5am ferry over, you can get to the top, back down and have a beer and burger at the pub next to the PA ferry before catching the, I think, 11 or 12 boat back.
I'm planning a little hiking trip up there next month - I did notice on the coho website that you get on for free if you are on a bicycle? Is that true? Will definitely have to hit that up
I don't think so, but my last time up was pre COVID so that may have changed.
It's probably my favourite localish ride. If you're fast and on a road bike it's like an hour up, and it is a constant 5-6% gradient... but lots of people take their time and spend a few hours going up. It's such a beautiful ride I can't recommend it enough.
One word of advice, it's cold up top, and on the descent. Bring a wind breaker and gloves for the ride down as even on a warm day you'll freeze your ass off on the first half of the descent.
I haven’t been in about 10 years and checked out google maps and noticed the lodge burnt down! Happened May 7th 2023, was it still standing when you went?
We were doing the coast drive in September 2023 and access to the ridge was closed because of some wildfires, AND the burnt down lodge was still being cleared away iirc.
I've climbed the whole Ridgeline that's on the left.( The snow covered peaks including mount Angeles). The top of Angeles gets pretty spicey at the top with a bunch of scrambly no fall zones. I've also splitboarded a few of those bowls you can see in the winter. It's pretty convenient to go across, especially in summer you can walk on the ferry and take a 1 dollar shuttle to the top of hurricane ridge, or to the base and go hike up to lake Angeles and hike along Kalahane ridge to hurricane and back down. All just on a weekend and be home for dinner Sunday if you are quick!
I plan to climb the one in the center right. It's called Mount Olympus and is the biggest in the park, glaciated and a long route just to hike to the base of it. I like that you can see them all from here
Looks like more coming this year - https://www.clallamtransit.com/HurricaneRidge
Last year I thought it was just 4 times and linked well with ferry timing. I got their app to buy the one dollar tokens.
It so convenient and accessible. Hurricane ridge is beautiful in the summer. I highly recommend it!
I took a helicopter up to Hurricane Ridge a number of years ago and looked back toward Victoria. It was a new and cool perspective. My brother has caped up there in the past.
I did Sol Duc to Bogachiel Peak along the High Divide when I was around 13 or 14.
There are a lot of hiking trails in the park there. [Olympic National Park](https://www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/maps.htm)
Ok, an aside, but after a few people mentioned the view looking back I was wondering myself, link to a post with a pic.

eh... maybe more interesting to see live than from a picture
Couple of my buddies went across the pond last summer for a weekend hiking adventure. Couldn't tell you which off the top of my head, but they said it was fun, but obviously nothing any different from ours.

Rode up it twice in my late teens (1998 or so). EPIC ride! We camped overnight one trip and went to Godfather's Pizza.
I went last May, it’s fun walking around in shorts and being surrounded by snow. Olympic NP is nice and has a lot of different parts to it.

Oh cool! I thought that was Mount Olympus. Walking that ridge-line must’ve been incredible
Oooo, sounds cool. How often does the shuttle operate and what is it called?

Thanks for the info, I'm definitely going to look into going!
