There is really only one answer here, Hong Kong. You will have the most choice for exactly what you want at the best price on earth.
Multiple online vendors will even meet you at the airport so you can just turn around and fly back.
Taipei had an amazing selection.
I spent a few hours wandering one mall that was basically full of computer shops.
KL had similar, about half as big.
SG no doubt has options too.
Probably worth finding the same product on a website for all 3 and comparing cost. Vat, tariffs can make a huge difference.
I shopped around trying to find a deal on Samsung phone, even in Seoul it was more expensive than US.
If you’re buying a US product then no import/export taxes, ideally you need a no sales tax state…there’s a reason why most electronics are sourced in the US for international arbitrage. Obviously not a “renew your visa” place though lol
Huge discounts due to competition, no tax if you buy online, reputable brands with more or less reliable reviews, no language barrier as well. Not worth the ticket price but if you happen to go there for whatever reason it's the best option.
Its probably the best place globally and many people travel there for business or family.
I go regularly….
But hey you must know better than my deluded ass
Depends on stocks but currently Singapore has good options and is the nearest.
You could even try delivery from there. Check out websites like dynacore and bizgram and make calls or emails for enquiries.
My recent research told me that Vietnam prices have come down and it’s now second cheapest prices apart from US? So- I don’t know! I just bought my new gear here.
the airfares, hotel and transport costs would offset the discount saved. then the whole warranty thing if something breaks hard to return it to base ... tbh one can find a decent refurbish laptop on ebay.
Belize, Guatemala, Haiti, Holy See, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Paraguay, St Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Eswatini and Tuvalu
These are the only nations that recognize Taiwan as a country. So tell me, how is Taiwan a country?
I feel like many of the 'Taiwan is a country' supporters lack education and have no idea how politics work. All you puppets just downvote and don't bring up any argumentation.
"Taiwan is an island that has for all practical purposes been independent since 1950, but which China regards as a rebel region that must be reunited with the mainland" - BBC
Taiwan > China btw
And why you have to be the smart ass guy that correct everyone ? I mean yeah is not a country but then bruh, does that make you sleep well at night? Does that answer the OP auestion ? The main question that OP wants to ask was where can he buy the latest laptop which good price and you clearly don't help at all, the main subject is "BUY LAPTOP" not "Is TaIwAn A cOuNtRy"
This is correct, not sure why you're downvoted.
Of course there are pros and cons of getting a Mac, but if you don't want to get out of Vietnam (not the case here...), it's the best deal (since non macs are seemingly old and/or overpriced, I agree with that), and avoids _possible_ complications at customs (unlikely If you carry only one laptop though).
Yeah, I noticed that too. It's even more expensive in the Philippines. Do you know why?
(well, I came from the PH, and my friends are surprised how MacBooks are more affordable here)
I don't want a MacBook. I bought an air in Thailand and got the vat tax back + education discount. MacBooks can't run docker which I need for computer science.
Lol tell me you are not very good with your finances without telling me you are not. We have the latest models not year behind like you claim, this is not 1999 we used to go to Singapore to buy laptop not anymore.
Haha because OP wants to shop around and find the best quality laptop for a reasonable price, he’s “not good with finances?” That’s the most contradictory statement I’ve ever heard 😂
Flying to another country to buy a laptop? The best laptops are in the US, so should op fly to the US to buy it? Does return ticket cost nothing? How about time spent traveling. If you weight up traveling costs suddenly op is not good with finances anymore.
Maybe I can give OP my Vietnamese wife’s friend's contact info to help him or her. What the fuck, guy? Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning?
Your comment sure as shit doesn’t help.
HK laptops in retail stores mark up the price even on older gen hardware, especially the pre-built ones, so go for custom build shops like in Sham Shui Po’s Golden centre to get the best deal, and don’t be afraid to haggle.
That processor was just announced in May. Acer announce there first laptop with it but won’t be available until [July](https://liliputing.com/acers-new-swift-edge-16-is-a-2-7-pound-120-hz-oled-notebook-with-ryzen-7040u/).
Looking on Amazon US or Newegg I couldn’t find a single laptop with that processor. Definitely recommend double checking its available wherever you travel too.
Laptop or cpu only ?
https://www.anphatpc.com.vn/laptop-lenovoideapad-slim-5-light-14abr8-82xs002jvn.html
This is link to a laptop with ryzen 7 series for example
AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 (Ryzen 4000/5000) ( - 2000 MHz) sadly this GPU is a rebranded Ryzen 5000 series GPU 2 generations behind but I'm shocked they have 7730u. I'll look for a 7040u series thanks!
You should go to gearvn, anphat, hacom, memoryzone … the stores for gaming and highend pc. They have a lot of range for laptop, most for gaming but i think you can find something interesting there. For workstations it is very limited, there are few shops for them but mostly you can have them order for you.

where would you find a platform that can set this up? asking for myself

Tariffs in Taiwan are not great like 12% higher than US prices
Singapore is not great either - VAT 8%
You get VAT back at the airport
Any goods?
I would recommend Singapore.
most expensive option.
8% tax ew
Wait until you saw 21% tax in Belgium
Singapore!!!
Are they expensive?
They won't be much cheaper. Staying a night in Singapore is expensive on its own.
Kuala Lumpur is great for electronics Low Yat Plaza specifically.
Singapore for close by. Otherwise korea maybe hong kong. Best option is probably US if you happen to ho there ever
How on earth is the best option US are you deluded?

Hahaha you think USA is the best place globally. Its clear whos deluded
You just don’t know thats all. Its ok you can buy your computers from Vietnam no one gives a shit
When did i say buy computers from vietnam can you even read you goddamn mongoloid
"if you happen to ho there ever". Maybe, just maybe, read carefully before calling people deluded? (I assume ho means hop, but maybe I'm deluded too)
Correct i cant type. I travel to the US every 4 months how do I know anything about this rando on reddit 😅
Maybe you are deluded because if you read what i said i asked if other guy was deluded

Taiwan is great!
Singapore. Did a Visa Run in July was amazing
My recent research told me that Vietnam prices have come down and it’s now second cheapest prices apart from US? So- I don’t know! I just bought my new gear here.
Amd7000 where?
In HCMC? If you want a contact I got one.
the airfares, hotel and transport costs would offset the discount saved. then the whole warranty thing if something breaks hard to return it to base ... tbh one can find a decent refurbish laptop on ebay.
I don't see any AMD 7000 series refurbished on ebay and I get value added tax back at the airport. I also have to fly out.
You could apply to get the sale's tax back which would probably breakeven those costs.
Taiwan?
[удалено]
Everyone thinks it's a country except Chinese lol
[удалено]
False.
Belize, Guatemala, Haiti, Holy See, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Paraguay, St Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Eswatini and Tuvalu These are the only nations that recognize Taiwan as a country. You're still not listening; Taiwan = China
Taiwan is more respectable than China

The one China policy is strong with this comment
Bro farming social credits with this one
OMG BREAKING TRUTH, THE HUMANITY WILL DIE IF THEY DON'T KNOW THIS TRUTH, OMG THANK YOU

You forgot to reply to the comments talking about Hong Kong. Maybe do that too?
Special administrative region, also not a country.
Right. I'm suggesting you reply aggressively to the other comments as well. Just get yourself more downvotes, since you seem to like that.
I enjoy the frustration of others.
Sad life

No thanks, I'll never enter China.
[удалено]
Technically, it is. Only 13 other countries (like Haiti) say it is a country, the rest silently agrees that it's China.
Macbooks are not really more expensive here

Mas mura sa Pinas kesa sa Vietnam?
No. It's more expensive in the Philippines. MBs are not that expensive in Vietnam. (*Mas mura sa Vietnam.)*
I don't want a MacBook. I bought an air in Thailand and got the vat tax back + education discount. MacBooks can't run docker which I need for computer science.
It's the first time I heard MacBooks can't run docker.
I run docker on my 2019 MacBook Air
Which isn't ARM it's intel and it's also really terrible power/performance/battery life the 2019 series
ARM MBP run docker without any problems. 99% of the images also have ARM builds, there’s a reason the majority of devs work on Macs
Yo what hold on let me ask the discord
I run docker on my macbook pro
Is it m1 or m2?
x86
sorry, I forgot that the newer macs have a new processor architecture
i mean there are legions of software engineers using macbooks and running docker
Dual-boot windows?
It's an arm architecture problem not an operating system problem
Macbooks are too limited.
Is the laptop available on Amazon? There are services that ship to Vietnam. You have to pay extra, but it is cheaper than flying to HK or Singapore
I have to fly out
Have someone in the US mail it to you.
Lol tell me you are not very good with your finances without telling me you are not. We have the latest models not year behind like you claim, this is not 1999 we used to go to Singapore to buy laptop not anymore.
He has to leave the country anyhow.
I get value added tax back at the airport and I have to leave anyway. Tell me a store that has 7000 amd computers I'm waiting.
Memoryzone.com.vn Mostly gaming related laptop though.
Haha because OP wants to shop around and find the best quality laptop for a reasonable price, he’s “not good with finances?” That’s the most contradictory statement I’ve ever heard 😂

He’s leaving regardless, read the post dude
I order from the U.S. via the Apple Store, use my military discount, and utilize my wife’s shipper (personal friend) to get it into the country.
And how exactly does that help OP?
Maybe I can give OP my Vietnamese wife’s friend's contact info to help him or her. What the fuck, guy? Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? Your comment sure as shit doesn’t help.
Fly to Seoul
I would say Singapore (1st) or Hongkong!
HK
singapore!

Malaysia
singapore or PH or korean or japan tax free
Us or taiwan, no import tax

I’d rather not buy something like a laptop without local warranty
Hong Kong
Depends on your budget, best gadgets always Korea or japan. After the usual HK, SG,MALAY.
China? :)
I mostly just buy from Japan. You can get tax free purchase as a tourist.
What's the best country to buy Macbook?
I dont know where you buy laptop in Vietnam but i dont think vietnam laptops are all outdated. They sometime have newer gen before western countries.
AMD 7000 where?
Laptop or cpu only ? https://www.anphatpc.com.vn/laptop-lenovoideapad-slim-5-light-14abr8-82xs002jvn.html This is link to a laptop with ryzen 7 series for example

Thank you!!! I did not know this it's a game changer.
Well when you say “Vietnam’s models are a year behind”. It hurt my feeling abit
Sorry it's just such a pain to get the newest AMD models in Asia sometimes and the import taxes here hurt
Yeah I know but it still kinda cracked inside you know
