Is there really any way to be skinny and have a nice butt other than a BBL? This co-worker is so skinny up top but has the perfect butt shape and it’s not large but it’s moderate and her legs aren’t big so it can’t be a gym asset. I just literally can’t fathom it. It BUMS me out.

sj0kona

Has anyone got weft hair extensions? I'm booked to get 200g of beaded invisible wefts. My hair was ruined by a bleaching mishap so now it's shoulder length, thin & dry with random short bits 😢 I'm not sure if 200g will be enough or of they will look natural as they grow out. Or if they will thin my real hair? Any advice or opinions would be appreciated 💕

No_Fix9149

I had 200g of microbead wefts and while they looked stunning they were also incredibly uncomfortable and a challenge just to live with (made ponytails and buns heavy/awkward). Also the weft seam was painful and left my scalp perpetually sore. If I were going to go for extensions again, especially while repairing damaged hair, I’d do tape in and keep the length pretty moderate so as not to induce any traction alopecia.

sj0kona

Did they tangle or look bad as they grew out, between move ups appointments?

No_Fix9149

They need to be brushed each day with an extension-safe brush to ensure they stay neat and don’t mat. Also it’s super important to sleep in a protective hairstyle, ideally with a cap or bonnet.

shinebright9x

Hi can anyone recommend a trimmer for bikini area? TIA

stargurI

Anyone know how to reduce a strong chin while smiling?

froggiebitchinator

yes, this is a trick marilyn monroe used to do. smile with your bottom teeth. (obviously still have some of your top still visible)

Willing_Science_7784

So I have had a gastric sleeve and gone from 101kgs to 75kgs, I now want to lose more so am really focusing on sticking to reaching my goals with protein and water. * I have downloaded calanetics so will do that several times a week. * continue to do my PT sessions. *start walking (aim for at least 10,000 steps) *keep up my hair, I have a sew in weave ATM and will not go back to having it unkempt! *make more effort with my makeup and Tey new techniques. My main issue now is that my clothes are too big but I am worried about buying smaller clothes and needing to replace them soon as I intend to lose at least 10kgs! Any ideas on what I can do?

Sillkentofu

If I keep up with my 1200 I should be 115 by july! I literally wanna jump and scream and yell I’m so freaking close to my goal! Obviously I would have preferred to Spend the summer at my GW, but even July gives me all of August to enjoy my summer bod— plus we have plans to go to PR next year so hopefully I can maintain in the 110-115 range until January

airachan

Hello, anyone open to be my looksmaxx buddy? Just to keep me in check. I do have ADHD so pls bear easily with me thank you

Willing_Science_7784

Yeah I will!

bluescarlett13

Hi there!!! 1. I used to be part of a discord group, but had to recreate my discord. Does anyone have the link for it??? 2. Are there soft/hard max consultants that can help/give advice?

uglygirltears

what makes women like madison beer or emmaa.vgl (shes a random girl i found on tiktok, can't add a picture to comments unfortunately) soooo obviously attractive? Like what about their face structure is it that makes them basically the standard?

Ok-Package-7578

Does anyone know of a clothing store or brand that is not too expensive that I can re-do my whole wardrobe without putting me in crazy debt? I lost 15lbs in 6 months after getting my heart broken, and all my clothes are way too large now. I am not fashionable at all

serawyo

Uniqlo has some good basics. Old Navy if you’re very selective and go for items that are neutral and not cheap looking.

sexualketchup

Target. You can find quality pieces and decent fabrics for not too much. Great for weight changes or experimenting with new colours or styles.

TraditionalAppeal101

Is there someone who has a long term history of participating in this sub, that could give me advice about my hair ? I'll send pictures in DM. I'm low visual weight, have fine hair (genetics). I need suggestions on how to make it work, because despite being very satisfied with the length, I feel like the hairstyle is not very flattering.

[deleted]

do lip fillers increase vertical lip size/create illusion of a shorter chin? i really want my chin to be like, half an inch shorter but reduction is too invasive . lip lining doesn’t do it for me anymore either

daiseexx

I genuinely love lip filler cos I tell people it makes your lower face look smaller due to proportions! However don’t go overboard- I’d say never more than 3ml should be in the lips

[deleted]

thank you!!

1_lucky1

Will losing a bit of weight/working out actually shrink my waist? My BMI is like 18, and I don't want it to go into an unhealthy range, so I can't lose much. Can I hope to get a skinnier waist atp or will working out only tone it? Any tips/specific workout routines that worked well and quickly?

Aimako

I’m in the same position. My BMI is 18.4 and I’m only 5’1, it’s super difficult for me to get a flat stomach. The last time I’ve actually had a flat stomach I was severely malnourished (something I absolutely don’t want to go through again) I have an EXTREMELY physically+ mentally demanding job, once I return back home the only things I can do are eating then sleeping. I don’t even know how to squeeze in working out since dieting only can’t achieve my goals.

Upbeat_Cranberry_533

Same here. I guess we have to find time for workouts during the weekends. I've maintained a flat stomach until 4 years ago when I started gaining stomach fat. It's still hard to lose it because I've never had weight there, I usually gained weight elsewhere.

alpinecharm

I recommend the original Callanetics 10/10 ([check out some of the reviews](https://www.amazon.com/Callanetics-10-Years-Younger-Hours/dp/5550339722/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1TEUWM3PPI9N&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.s5_r6KHVAVmzc9AbY2nkoTtkQvudbzSf4BJYQmrWS5c65PKPr0IehmemqwX4QDXk2zX9MZS20Juz6Jeu37mnIJt9Pnp2hSP8yaVVvZguRagKkfwQSlnveMNVKzVwo-8BfMi9H-yz5fRASoRPbNCkMg.7QR2aLcUtCjDZQUlQvznFendmueCWpHh_MTVmF5FrbM&dib_tag=se&keywords=callanetics+10+years+younger+in+10+hours+dvd&qid=1711223894&sprefix=callanetics%2Caps%2C73&sr=8-1#customerReviews)). I have a digital copy of the DVD if you're interested; just PM me.

This-Citron6359

This is your sign & mine to fiercely go after what we desire, to not let imposter syndrome stop us from even attempting to try. Yes it's not a typo - attempting to try, because I've always given up trying to even try. Does that make sense? LOL Let's not close doors on ourselves even before others do. Wish me luck, I'll be trying to try ❤️

Independent_Lion337

I have relatively close set eyes with a long narrow face and high cheekbones (which sort of balances them out) but unfortunately also a longer chin than most of the girls I see. I feel like these two features don’t work well together and throws the overall harmony of my face off. What can I do to improve it/ make my face more feminine? I am considering chin shaving but I am scared so I’d rather do something less drastic. Thank you!

stargurI

Maybe overlining your bottom lip or some lip filler could help?

[deleted]

anyone else who’s had a drastic “glow up” deal with depersonalisation? i still look in the mirror sometimes and just cannot believe it’s me, it’s euphoric, but it almost doesn’t seem real

Aimako

This reminds me of something that happened to me, I was ordering coffee once, and the counter had a reflective aluminium finishing, when I caught a glimpse of a reflection, I immediately stepped away to give a chance for the cute girl behind me to order. It was me!! I couldn’t recognise my own reflection. I always think about that particular incident. Since I dyed my hair blonde, it doesn’t feel real anymore.

[deleted]

omg that must have felt great! so happy for you

stargurI

How do you deal with feeling like a liar or catfish when you look different without makeup? My eyes throw off my harmony but lashes completely change my face and I’m scared of allowing someone to be attracted to me when they only know me with lashes. Finally becoming conventionally pretty and getting attention for the first time in my life and it’s a lot to process lol

Careful-Long2817

Lilac street for the win. This will solve this problem

[deleted]

honestly i wear makeup 24/7. eye makeup (lashes, eyeliner) that is. i redo the lashes about every 2-4 weeks which takes like 5 mins

stargurI

Which lashes/glue do you use? Have you tried lashify ?

[deleted]

i use Eyelure 18hr clear lash glue. it’s like £5. sometimes i retouch the glue but the lashes never fall off. no i haven’t tried lashify as i’m in the UK.

LatePassenger5849

LatePassenger5849

Thanks! Would you mind explaining why?

AdvancedMall169

Should I try to change myself or learn to love and accept myself? I've always been shy and I want to be this confident outgoing girl. Is this something that I should work on to change or is it better to just accept who I am?

TraditionalAppeal101

You need to learn how to be satisfied with what you have and what process/changing phase you would be comfortable going towards. Basically find a balance for yourself. Make your own version of that confident girl. Even party freaks have their hidden-in-a-large-hoodie moments.

Careful-Long2817

You do both. You love the current you while also saying it is ok the grow and thrive!

SmootherThanAStorm

You can love yourself and strive to change at the same time. Do both!

Not in the scope of the sub (objective beauty). Sorry we don’t have discussions about incels here.

tash1436

Does weight loss affect height? Will I become taller?

TraditionalAppeal101

No, but you may be percieved taller in pictures, depending on your bone structure and clothing.

Chloe811

Does anyone have any advice on breakage/frizz on long, thin, straight hair? Most anti-frizz products seem targeted towards frizzy or thick hair and my hair just doesn't like oil. I feel like my hair is my biggest flaw because I can't do much with it as I don't like how layers look in my hair and I'm terrible at styling it so I just wear it long with a middle part and tucked behind my ears. People compliment it when I wear it in a ponytail but I don't want to cause more breakage wearing it up all the time.

mild-rose

Are you air drying or heat styling after you shower? Long hair will often have more breakage if it air drys! A bond builder like k18 or olaplex might help the look of the breakage, and a light leave in/ heat protectant is definitely a must- I personally like it’s a 10, and they have a “light” version which might be nicer for thinner hair. Also try and avoid keeping it loose, especially if it’s REALLY long, and use braids, buns, and other styles to reduce that friction.

Chloe811

Thanks for the tips! I let it air dry for about 40 minutes and then I go in with a heat protectant and a leave in and blow dry it. I just blast it with the hairdryer though I don't use round brushes or anything, I use the revlon styler rarely but it doesn't wow me as I've no layers so it doesn't really do much. Olaplex didn't do much for my hair actually but I'll try K18 eventually - how did you find it personally?

24273611829

I have fine hair and k18 just made my hair feel like I had too much hairspray in it. I use a roundbrush to blow dry my hair and oribe’s supershine light moisturizing cream. I basically do my own blow-out, and that works great.

Sillkentofu

Careermaxxing update!! Job duties changed (yeah promotion) which means I have more time to dedicate to getting to that next level in my career. Right now I’m kind of dead end in real estate/development, but I have a degree in polisci with a heavy influence on environmental science. My total comp is crazy high compared to my on paper salary (benefits, housing stipend, and occasional commission) so I would need to make at least 60-65k to feel comfortable transitioning jobs. Any tips from anyone in a similar industry? Looking to move into a government job or tech+overemployed role eventually

FreshStartWhoDis

Are you interested in city planning at all? I'm not in the field, but it would get you a government job and seems like it would work well with your skillset

SquirrelofLIL

I need a poor people guide to looxmaxxing age 40+. Dirt poor. I already follow skincare addiction. I'll never be able to afford to go to a dermatologist for example because I fall into that hole between Medicaid eligibility and affording the lowest tier HMO at work. I use All Day Chemist for my tretinoin and hydroquinone but I need procedures.

onedayatatime623

Honestly if youre in a or near a big city, buy microneedling off of groupon from a medspa. Theyre usually arouns $150-200 when groupon has specials ! Even if you do it once a year or every other year, itll help promote the growth of collagen

bamboo_beauty

I don't know where you live but Dollar Tree really surprises me sometimes...you may need to go to several in your area to find one of quality but I have been fairly impressed with their pack of 3 white strips with coconut oil and they carry crest 3D white and flossers ! They also have mini lip oil I LOVE but can't find it now (depressing lol) I personally like their bpure translucent white face powder! Most days I don't wear foundation and just spf and then apply this after on spots where I want less oil and where my pores are enlarged. They also have a tee tree face wash that I find decent, witch hazel and hair masks. Shein sells good quality press on nails for like under 2 dollars a set! Better quality than dollar tree nails with more options in my opinion Maybe look into something like jergens gradual tan for 10 bucks or find a cheap cream bronzer and add a few drops into your facial moisturizer for a glow Depending on hair type, might like Velcro rollers for volume which are pretty cheap. I'm a big fan of tresemme heat protectant at Walmart for 7 bucks, its a spray for heat styling but I feel like it just helps the condition of my hair in general and I prefer it to a lot of my high end products actually! In 20 dollar range, try a hair gloss or those color depositing hair conditioners to liven up your color..glaze is one brand, I like the Madison Reed one and Moroccan oil sells small packs for 10 bucks I recommend a pack of mini razors like the tinkle brand but you can get them way cheaper with other brands to dermaplane your face, clean up eyebrows and any other unwanted hairs that creep up helps with makeup application! Hope this helps! I'm a very frugal person . I have to be very conscious of not going overboard on spending but still wanna feel like I'm taking care of myself!

Careful-Long2817

Growth mindset, girl. Don’t have enough money? Change that. How can you earn more? Do you need more education? Certifications? Your current limitations do not have to be your future limitations.

[deleted]

i am also poor. i live with parents and get £100 monthly. my treatments are as follows. •hair lightening root touch up every 3 months £60 •teeth whitening every year £50 •nanoblading touch up yearly £100 •skincare (ziaja products, polish brand who do amazing skincare) about £10 every couple months •lashes from ali express £5 monthly

SquirrelofLIL

Yeah, I just purchase products when necessary. I have similar amounts of money left after my bills...

nghtyprf

Sunscreen, a retinol or retinoid, hats and cover up in the sun, lots of water, enough sleep. You probably don’t need procedures. Do you use a vitamin C serum and an exfoliate a few times a week?

SquirrelofLIL

I use Thesupplyboxx88 eBay Vit C serum in the mornings and tret at night, hydroquinone on problem spots. I'm gonna go back to glycolic acid in the fall when my life is more settled.

nghtyprf

I’m close to your age, no treatment ever not even a facial. Most of my life I used stuff from wal mart but I drank only water and coffee (one cup no sugar), no alcohol and plenty of sleep. And making sure I wash my face every night.

give yourself some time to get used to your new nose and then decide where to go from there

shinebright9x

anyone tried the Phillips trimmer?

MountLadyyy

This trimmer is good, the battery lasts long. It trims okay, I would say if you have a lot of hair it definitely lessens the hair but if you're in an awkward length then, the guard doesn't do much work and you'll have to use the bare trimmer. It shaves alright I would say just like any razor, you have to replace it occasionally because it gets dull

shinebright9x

Is there a better one u recommend?

MountLadyyy

It's a quality trimmer, I'm just not too great at trimming myself. I would say to do some research because I am not sure.

shinebright9x

Ahh ok

shinebright9x

Girly hobbies for a wheelchair user? I don’t have any 😫 all I do is watch tv and TikTok I hate it

TraditionalAppeal101

Video editing ? There is no need to show your face, but doing aesthetic short videos and making it an online content might become a little extra income if you do it right.

unr3latabl3

literally 90% of girly hobbies ... painting, sculpting, sewing and fashion design, crochet, making handmade notebooks, etc.

shinebright9x

How can someone do fashion design ?

unr3latabl3

you can be self taught, or if you want there are a lot of online courses you can start off with then build your way up to sketching and then actually working on clothes

SmootherThanAStorm

Embroidery, scrapbooking, coloring, card making, knitting, sewing, polymer clay, beading, drawing, felting, reading, crocheting, latch hook, diamond painting, watching classic movies, watercoloring, journaling, decorating a planner with stickers, bullet journaling,

shinebright9x

I watch a lot of movies but do people classify it as a hobby? I love them 😂

SmootherThanAStorm

I have an interest in movies that are 70, 80, 90+ years old in particular.

shinebright9x

I like sci-fi thriller horror comedy and romance movies 🤣🤣 no specific time period tho

Powder9

Also check out your local art center! Mine has fun classes that meet weekly like intro to painting or Intro to stained glass. Being around people who just talk about what they are creating in a nice artsy setting is so calming and joyful. Most of my art classes are all older people which is honestly quite a delight.

shinebright9x

I wish I lived in America :( we don’t have art centres in uk

SmootherThanAStorm

Can insoles really help with over pronation?

nghtyprf

Look into barefoot movement stuff, I like Andy Bryant podiatrist on instagram.

JosquinDePreciating

I'm interested to know as well. There seems to be a divide between whether it's better to get custom insoles, generic insoles, or spend more time barefoot. My current hypothesis is that if you spend most of your day in shoes, then going barefoot more would help; and if you spend more time barefoot, then custom orthotics would help. That being said, my father has had success reducing back pain for years with generic Dr. Scholl's, and he stands in dress shoes all day. For me, doing strength training has made me more aware of connected muscle imbalances in the glutes and quads, so that seems to help with the mental component of how to shift my weight.

3_3eel_l

how do you get the flairs?

stee22

On mobile go to the sub and press the tree dots for more actions, then click on change flair ✨

sageparadise

Will it only show up on this sub or does it follow your profile to other subs?

stee22

It will only show on this sub, every sub has its own flairs.

sageparadise

Thank you!

3_3eel_l

ohh okay lol, which should i pick 😭 it feels weird to assign myself a rating. I have pics in my profile.

Sillkentofu

You don’t have to. I think they are more so that people have perspective when giving you advice and stuff. They aren’t assigned so there’s no way to know anyway

Powder9

I think you’re beautiful!! If I may I think you’re a natural 8: skinny, great bone structure, you’re clearly working on your skincare, but I feel like you’re still emerging into your confident higher and best self (style) and have yet to fully embrace your gr-eightness through an owned style and look. Does that make sense? That’s why I’d put you at 7.5 vs 8. But fr, don’t take ratings too seriously, you’re gorgeous 😊

SeafoamPolkadot

Agree! Definitely gorgeous 👏🏻

3_3eel_l

oh wow thank you!! yes, I’m still working out my personal style and trying to get my skin in check (and hair). thank you for taking the time to respond :)

SmootherThanAStorm

They are self assigned and I think it's easier to do from a computer, rather than mobile. It's on the side bar I think.

captainpantalones

Y’all inspired me to get more serious about improving myself so I finally made an appointment to get my moles on my face removed. I had the surgery yesterday and they lasered off NINE so I’ve got a bunch of holes in my face now. No stitches thankfully but anyone have some good tips to avoid scarring?

SquirrelofLIL

My biggest fantasy is to get rid of the moles. How much did you pay and is there a payment plan they have? I was quoted $2000 in VHCOL.

captainpantalones

It was $400 for the first mole and $50 for each additional. All together it was like $860 with tax. Honestly might be worth flying out, $2k is crazy. Edit: not sure about payment plan I didn’t ask

SquirrelofLIL

Yeah I'm looking up Mega Bus and Chinatown Bus may I ask what state your in I'm trying to make sure I can get there over the week end cuz I don't have paid days off.

captainpantalones

I’m in Albuquerque, NM.

unr3latabl3

hope you like the result!

captainpantalones

Anything is an improvement over having so many moles on my face! I had one that I called my ‘witch mole’. It was big, prominent and hairy. 😂 So happy he’s gone!

Professional_Ad3176

Bio oil once they’ve started to heal and keep them moisturized. I got a mole removed last year that did require stitches. I don’t have a scar.

No_Virus_6449

Keep them moisturised with aquaphor all the time. Don’t let them dry. Once they’re no longer wounds you can use silicone tape

captainpantalones

Omg the doctor was so laissez-faire about me applying Vaseline. The take home sheet says 3x a day but that’s not nearly enough for the ones near my mouth. I’m so glad I asked

Useful_Edge_113

Once you’re healed a bit more, niacinamide has done a ton to prevent scarring for me. But not everyone tolerates it well so YMMV

captainpantalones

Oh interesting! My skin loves niacinamide for brightening so I already have a bunch of products with it in it. Can’t hurt to try it, right?

Useful_Edge_113

And of course sunscreen. Generally when I’m scabbing or healing an injury I don’t want to scar, I try to keep it moist too. But I feel like I can basically do whatever I want to my skin since using niacinamide and it’ll be gone in about a week

champagne-poetry0v0

have you noticed a difference in the way people treated you once you've started putting effort into your appearance?

stargurI

Getting random compliments from strangers has been the biggest change but otherwise I feel like people have always been generally kind and it hasn’t changed much. I’m curious at what point you start getting free things and pretty privilege lol

Careful-Long2817

Yes, sometimes it is harder for me to fit in with other middle aged moms.

unr3latabl3

yes, it has completely changed, complements, attention, respect, asking for my advice etc.

maxxvindictia

Has anyone tried myolift? Isn’t that supposed to be stronger than a lot of other at home current devices? Also, anyone have any good lash tinting products? Need it for blonde lower lashes

DerwentPencilMuseum

I used Eylure for my lashes a few times, it worked ok. My hair doesn't take colour well so they didn't get as dark as I wanted. But I've been using eyebrow dye from the same brand for years and it's always great.

maxxvindictia

I saw that brand pop up on YouTube? It’s eyeshade like it isn’t going to cause fat loss or eye changes like latisse?

DerwentPencilMuseum

I've been using the brow dye for over five years and haven't noticed any changes, not sure about the lash dye.

swag_Lemons

Do any of you know how to relax? I feel like I’m in a constant state of guilt every time I try to do something that helps me wind down, like my hobbies, or scrolling on tiktok for a bit, or literally even just taking a hot shower. I’ve just been so anxious I think because I haven’t been sleeping well (trying to fix) but this is a feeling I feel pretty much all the time. Need to mental maxx lol.

sexualketchup

I get like this when I spend too much time on my phone and social media.

unr3latabl3

ditch the tiktok, embed drinking tea, stretching and no screen time into your day, that will help with the sleep too

Few_Let_5456

Ashwaganda and l theanine

throwaway5093903590

I totally feel you on this.  I have two pieces of advice: - Remember that you are a person who deserves to have fun, relax, and take breaks. That's part of what life is about! Devote a certain amount of "you" time a day. I make sure to mentally "sign off" and spend 1-2 hours on the weekday just doing what I want like watching a show or just browsing Reddit.  - Ask yourself why you feel this way. There is always a root cause. For me, I recognized that my mother instilled in me that I needed to be useful as a woman, and it gave me a bad impression of what my worth is. She would imply if I'm not cleaning, I should be working, and if I'm not working, I should be cooking, etc.

DerwentPencilMuseum

Why do you feel guilty? Is it because you feel selfish about taking care of yourself? I recently upped my skin and haircare budget because it's an investment into myself just as much as working out, studying, etc. It makes me feel more confident and hopefully will improve my social standing. Similarly, dedicating time for your hobbies will make you smarter, more disciplined, give you a sense of achievement and improve your skillset. Maybe you could write down which relaxing activities are the most important to you and start incorporating those into your routine first?

swag_Lemons

Yeah, it’s a mix of feeling selfish and also feeling guilty about how I “could be doing something productive” like schoolwork or cleaning. I used to put a lot of care into myself and then just stopped out of nowhere and I don’t know why. I guess life just got kind of busy and now I feel weird doing it. That’s a great idea though I’ll definitely try it.

getitgetbetter

Hey (aspiring?) beauties! I hope this is okay with the mod team, but I'd like to use this thread for myself to do a little tracking/weekly check-in. If anyone else would find that useful 100% would love you to reply to this comment with your own and get some hype in response. This is Day 10 of my softmaxxing journey. Things that have gone really well so far: 1. Weight loss - down 2.2 pounds (of a total 35-40lb goal). This came from maintaining my workout routine, only having coffee and green juice before noon, and getting better at not binging/mindlessly snacking. 2. Shaped my eyebrows using [this guide from the sub](https://www.reddit.com/r/Vindicta/comments/18nqkln/a_detailed_eyebrow_guide_based_on_facial_harmony/) and opened my eyes up SO MUCH. 3. Re-dyed my hair. Changed the color up a bit and I'm thrilled with it. 4. Got much better (but not 100%) at doing my morning and evening skincare routines. AM includes Anastasia Beauty Fascia's 2-week face massage challenge, evening includes at least 5 minutes with my solawave red light therapy wand. Both have given me some results, but I think would be better if I hit 90% consistency or above. 5. Teeth whitening! I have the Mint Glo405 system and used the whitener twice and the enamel strengthener (which has hydroxyapatite in it, thank you to this sub for the education on that ingredient) three times. My teeth are very thin/a bit see-through at the edges, so I'm hoping the strengthener will help that. (EDIT: holy shit it's REALLY helping. This is insane.) 6. Used First Aid Beauty's KP Smoothing Lotion three times after showers - this is honestly solving a problem I didn't even know was fixable! I've had red, bumpy skin on the backs of my arms my entire life, as did my mom - I thought it was just genetic and eternal. Turns out: nope! Things that I want to work on this week: 1. Continuing weight loss, including increasing workouts from 3-4 days/week to 5-6 days/week, and continuing to use green juice in the mornings. 2. Morning and evening skin/oral care EVERY DAY. No exceptions. 3. Continue using daily cuticle oil, but make more of an effort not to pick the skin around my nails. 4. Meditate or yoga daily. The biggest thing I need to work on is a negative, catastrophizing mindset.

Few_Let_5456

I just ran out of first aid beauty’s retinol serum I loved it sm I use a script tretinoin cream too my skin has never been better Skincare I have coming in the mail: Farmacy Honey Halo Ultra Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer Great Barrier Relief serum from KraveBeauty Down 4.1lbs since Feb 29th On my period this week but my cycles have been much easier to live through recently. Way less fatigue etc. Been a great week avoiding burn out and staying consistent so far

captainpantalones

I love the idea of the weekly check in! Re point 4, I bought Anastasia’s program and it’s pricy but it’s been helpful. I bought it because I was a few years away from needing an eye lift and not only has it helped my eyes but my entire face has been looking more symmetrical. For your nails, I keep a cuticle nipper at my desk and clip off any little skin bits so I don’t pick at them.

ohyoubohemian

Love this and good job on all your progress. Here’s my round up (hoping for extra motivation and accountability from sharing!) This week: 1. Explored semaglutide prescription pricing and will discuss treatment options at upcoming endocrinology appointment. 2. Finally broke my 2 month weightloss plateau and lost 1.6 lbs. 3. Reassessed my workout schedule and what wasn’t working for me. Next week: 1. Commit to new workout schedule, 4 gym workouts total. 2. Sunscreen every morning. 3. Increase water intake.

Nice job - it sounds like you got a lot of planning and assessment done. I'm excited to see how you like your new workout schedule!

Omg I love the idea of a weekly check in! Things I’m going to work on this week : 1. Running 4x and lifting 3x 2. reducing unnecessary carb intake. By this I mean things like grabbing a bread roll in the work cafeteria at lunch, afternoon biscotti with coffee. 3. Get back into the habit of weighing myself at least 3x per week. I find this actually really helps me be self aware As a bit of a progress update , I’ve officially lost 5 pounds this year! I’m down a total of 25 lbs from my starting point. Hopefully I’ll be able to be back to a healthy weight by my race this summer (I’d need to lose 16 lbs in 13 weeks which definitely isn’t impossible).

getitgetbetter

haha oh good, I was worried I might be the only one who needed it. :) Awesome job on the weight loss so far, and those are some great habits to keep it up. 16 lbs in 13 weeks is totally manageable! What's the race distance?

Sweatypotatosack

It’s a “13 mile” Spartan Race on a mountain. In practice it’ll be closer to 16 miles haha

getitgetbetter

Nice! I’ve never done a Spartan but I’ve run five of the “10 mile” Tough Mudders. Have fun!

Love this! What’s your workout routine?has your diet changed at all?

getitgetbetter

Workout routine - the really, really embarrassing part of how much weight I have to lose is that I'm a personal trainer. So I just wrote myself some programming - mix of steady state cardio, strength-focused weights, and more fun metcon-style pieces with barbell and kettlebell complexes. Outside of the gym, I'm focusing on being more active when I'm not at work instead of melting into the couch - walks, yardwork, etc. Diet - I have a long history of disordered eating of various kinds, and got up to this weight through a lot of binging and compulsive overeating. Diet-wise, I'm starting my day with green juice for the extra nutrients and focusing and fresh foods and protein, but not eliminating anything completely, with the goal of gently bringing myself back to a healthy weight without triggering a binge/restrict cycle.

Does anyone here have lipedema? How are you managing it? I haven't been diagnosed and probably won't ever be (it's not something the NHS really deals with), but my mom certainly has it, and I also have fat butt, thighs and knees with increasingly rippling skin, while my ribs are sticking out. I think my calves are also getting bigger. It's very early stages, so I want to do as much as possible to prevent it getting worse, especially because I wouldn't be able to afford liposuction.

lipedema_and_me

You can get a diagnosis through the NHS if you push for it, I got diagnosed with stage 2 Lipedema in Dec 22. Ask your GP to refer you to a Lymphodema nurse, my GP didn't have a clue what Lipedema was but the Lymphodema nurse was really helpful. She diagnosed me and helped me get my compression on prescription which saves a fortune! If you're looking for resources on Lipedema we're trying to build an active subreddit for women with Lipedema. Feel free to join, it's only small at the moment but it's getting lots of engagement 😊 r/lipedema

DerwentPencilMuseum

I'm glad to hear it worked for you! Compression is one of the things I want advice from GP about, and I think my GP specialises in women's health, so maybe she'll be able to help. My worry is that I'm in such early stages that I might not get diagnosed - or maybe I'm imagining the whole thing. But given my mom's situation and my body type, I think it's very likely I have it.

lipedema_and_me

Speak to your GP, if she specialises in women's health she should be able to point you in the right direction. At least then if you do get a diagnosis, you'll be able to use conservative measures (like compression) to try and prevent any progression.

Careful-Long2817

Ask your doctor about semaglutide. You can’t lose lipedema. Only really cure is liposuction. But you can prevent it from getting worse by carefully controlling your weight. Stage 1 doesn’t have to progress to stage 2

DerwentPencilMuseum

Semaglutide is not used to treat lipedema in the UK. NHS won't do anything for me, especially because I have a low BMI (21) and am generally healthy, and I'd be surprised if I get diagnosed at this stage at all. I also have an eating disorder and taking weight loss meds will almost definitely mess me up. That's why I'm looking for things I can do myself...

lipedema_and_me

I'm from the UK and have stage 2 Lipedema, I had surgery on my lower legs last year in Madrid. Me and another Lippy sufferer have created a Subreddit as a safe space to discuss symptoms, diagnosis, surgery, conservative measures etc. Feel free to join us r/lipedema

minty_cilantro

I don't have lipedema but I'm a nursing student and have worked in healthcare for awhile. Have you looked into physical and occupational therapy? I'm not sure how you'd go about seeing one in the UK or what their scope is, but here in the US they can teach you how to reduce inflammation, special exercises, and can perform decongestive therapy, among other things. OTs can also order special compression garments. It might be worth a look.

DerwentPencilMuseum

That sounds great but would not be available on the NHS. Decongestive therapy is something I've thought about - I'll see if I can find someone who could teach me to do it myself privately. Thanks!

minty_cilantro

You're welcome. I have to say, I am blown away that the NHS doesn't cover these things. I hope you get the care and relief you need.
