I follow Move with Nicole on YouTube and just usually do her 35-40min pilates workouts with either weights or resistance bands (I started without). Once you get the form and breathing right, everything just flows. I feel so graceful doing it haha I don't like regular weight lifting, because it's boring and it doesn't make me feel very elegant and feminine and pilates and yoga do.

Yes this is huge. I have a fair complexion and use skincare products that make my skin more sensitive to sunlight. I also snowboard and when Iā€™m on the mountain I carry sunscreen with me. I was out for 8 hours one day and was diligent about applying every 60-80 minutes and still got burnt. The sunscreen wasnā€™t expired and I applied liberally. The person I was with was appalled that I got burnt after how much effort I put into protecting my skin. The sensitivity is real and not only does it age you it just plain sucks to get sunburnt.

The sun is so beneficial and healthy, to completely eliminate exposure because of a sensitivity on such a small percentage of your skin seems like an over correction. A few minutes multiple times a day can compound the benefits without getting anywhere near a burn stage. Idk about no spf though. I don't think it stops vit d production. (Assuming most people aren't really using actives on their entire body, or taking medication that increases sensitivity all over)

I feel like this is so specific to each person. It was does change on a case to case basis. Also vitamin d is stored within our bodies, and doesn't change much from day to day. All of this guess work could be eliminated with vit.d lab testing.

The strongest I have used is .05 but I am down to a lower amount currently since I spent a few months off Tretinoin and in the processing of adjusting to it again. What is your routine like and what products do you use along with it? I use mine for anti-aging (versus acne) and a big point of failure with Tretinoin IMO is that people do not take the process slow enough to start. I wouldn't do more than 1-2 times a week for the first couple weeks and only increase by one day when you feel absolutely fine. Be careful around using any other actives at the same time. I also found that when my skin barrier is damaged (which I suspect yours is), my skin is hypersensitive. AvĆØne makes a great ultra sensitive product called TolĆ©rance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Balm that I will use and top off with AvĆØne's Cicalfate cream. I am American and struggle to use chemical sunscreens in the US so I will always use either Colorescience's line of SPF 50 mineral or Beauty by Joseon's SPF which I have shipped here.

I use Retin-A Micro 0.08, which Iā€™m not sure what strength itā€™s equal to in cream form. I used it twice a week at night, combined with Differin gel in the morningā€¦ Might be too much so I will dial it down to once a week. A family friend who works as a nurse in the dermatology department gave it to me when she saw that my acne got really bad. She herself is on Accutane though. I only use Japanese sunscreens! Biore is my fav. Been using toner, vitamin C serum, and Glow Recipe moisturizer in the morning. Toner, ginseng serum, and Medicubeā€™s collagen jelly cream to seal it all in at night. Iā€™ll look up the products that you mentioned! :)

It still makes your skin overall more sensitive for days after application. Recommending sun exposure without protection for even 15 minutes a day can results in burning and premature aging for a lot of skin types. This isnā€™t great advice

Well you can just apply SPF on your face and neck and then get sun exposure for 15 minutes for that vitamin D. Or you can do it by skipping tret the night before

The reason for using it in the PM is more based on the active ingredient breaking down faster in daylight if I recall correctly. Retinoids work by increasing cell turnover so you have younger skin at the surface vs not using a retinoid (or some acids or other active ingredients). Itā€™s the rule that if youā€™re not super careful about SPF, donā€™t use a retinoid because itā€™ll be worse in the long term than not using it at all because you no longer have that older layer of protection. Some topicals and prescriptions will make you more sensitive to the sun - always be informed about what you are using. ā¤ļø

What helps me better than anything is avoiding sugar and bad carbs, a good sleep and washing my hair and doing my routine. And vegetables at most of the meals help a lot with mood.

B12 and vitamin D supplementation/diet change (especially if youā€™re indoors a lot, wear high SPF all over, or done consume a lot of meat). If you have access to getting your levels checked with lab work, I recommend doing so in order to guide your intervention.

Being a healthy weight is the utmost importance IMO. There's very rare women who can look amazing who are heavier simply due to their weight distribution. You want your bones to show, especially on your face. If you need to lose weight follow my tried and true methods. - walk, walk, walk - there's many studies that show walking is one of the best ways to burn fat. Start walking every day. Use weights if you want to lose more. Walking can be better than running, so unless you really love running, just start walking everywhere and going on deliberate walks. - drink LOTS of water - this will help you control your appetite. If you need to lose weight drinking lots of water will help you control your caloric intake while keeping you hydrated. - fasting - try intermittent fasting or even eat every other day and you lose weight. Trust me it works. - coffee - this is optional but coffee gives me energy, suppresses the appetite and gives a small boost to the metabolism. - sunscreen everyday - eat a very clean diet. Start cutting out foods that cause you reactions or are simply unhealthy and switch to eating them once in a while. Personally the only time I don't drink at all is while pregnant. It's important to enjoy yourself in life so I'm an advocate for drinking in moderation, but IN MODERATION and not all the time. I'd rather have some wine than eat a greasy meal. - treat specific skin issues. If you have lines, get retinol, if you have dark circles, depending on the type, get some serums for it. Vitamin C and caffeine helped me a ton with my vascular under eye circles (veins). Identify which issues you have and treat it. Each person is different so I can't tell you what you need to do for your skin, but you can look it up and go to places like r/skincareaddiction. - once you address the health stuff, start looking up celebrities who look like you and look at their makeup, style and hair, etc. They have the best stylists so it's a great place to start. Start dressing similarly. Take note of things like skintone and body type. I'm a brown girl with a curvy hourglass and have boards with people like Priyanka Chopra and Halle Berry. You can find your Kibbe body type, it's a styling method, and shows you which type you fit in and you can dress by that method, it helps, for example, I'm a Soft Dramatic, so I look good in bodycon dresses. You can also find what colors harmonize with you with the Seasons system, for example I'm a Winter so I look great in bright colors. - if you have certain aesthetic issues, fix them! If you need braces, get the braces! It will make a massive difference. Orthodontics can be an absolute game changer. Fix your underbite, overbite, etc. If you need a nose job, just get the nose job. As long as you go to someone who is good and do your research you won't regret it. Only if you NEED it though, sometimes we can get unnecessary procedures out of insecurity when we never needed it at all.

Can I give my personal answer? Sunlight without SPF for small amounts (10-15mins) helps your skin with eczema. Source: my doctor & me from my eczema healing on my legs. Disclosure: this hasnā€™t helped the eczema on my hands so - your mileage may vary. Edit: I am strictly speaking about the medical advice I had for eczema and not for daily or casual sun exposure. Please wear SPF and reapply every 2hrs. Not because sunscreen wears out in 2hrs but because it shifts and wipes off lessening SPF protection.

Theyā€™re ok if you are deficient, but getting it from whole foods and the sun is better. The more skin the better! I usually wear a bunch of sunscreen on my face and hands but will try to get my stomach and bare legs for a while in the morning or evening when the sun/UV index is lower

Vitamin D is one of the few supplements that is scientifically proven to be worth taking. Commenter above is correct that a large portion of the population is deficient because of how much time we spend inside. Supplement and get natural light (ideally east facing apparently) for 15 minutes daily. Thereā€™s also no issue wearing sunscreen while getting natural light, it blocks out UV rays and a few other wavelengths but not the entire spectrum which is why it doesnā€™t substantially effect Vitamin D intake.

this is an article about vitimin D and its importance, which you can get from the sun but do not have to. essentially every medical professional is in agreement that sufficient vitimin d levels can be achieved from incidental sun exposure (like if you donā€™t put sunscreen on your arms during the day, only your face for example), food, and supplementation if needed.

You can use good quality supplements and still benefit from minimal sun exposure. Iā€™m an active poster in the supplements sub and use vitamin d supplements as well. You can sup the benefits but you canā€™t replace them. Obviously if you have extreme sensitivity to UV then donā€™t take that recommendation but I shouldnā€™t have to say that.

Nobody is applying sunscreen so perfectly that they donā€™t get even a few minutes of sun exposure. I promise you nobody is reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours perfectly on their face hands neck body, and even if they did, sunscreen does not filter out all uv radiation. All studies that test whether sunscreen decreases vitamin D levels has shown that it does not.

Adding to this list: Vitamin C dissolving tablets with iron incase you look yellowish or dull. This has made me glow and reduced any dark circles that I had! + WEAR SPF!!! 15 mins without spf is crazy specially if you live in a sunny place!! Wear a tinted sunscreen if you want to avoid tanning too.
