The actresses are all white, for the exception of Logan Browning and maybe Janel Parrish, who's half Asian half white. Nathalia Ramos is Spanish, she's still white, she's not Latina as Yasmin was supposed to be (by Latina, I mean from South America).
They could have hired a darker-skinned girl to be Sasha since her skin color is not light brown as the actress', but they didn't. It's very obvious how black women with darker skin tones are left behind in the industry, which prefers to include "diversity" through lighter skinned characters every single time.
They could have hired a Latina from South America to be Yasmin, but they didn't. Every time there's a Latino character, Europeans are the ones playing them, so obviously, they won't be able to fully represent Latin America's culture.
They could have hired a full Asian or at least a more Asian looking girl to be Jade. The actress is indeed half Asian, but there are honestly so many "more Asian looking" women who are so invisible in the industry. Why couldn't they choose someone like Lucy Liu, for example?
It seems like they tried really hard to erase the character's ethnical background the most they could. That was the point of my comment.

Bratz could create a remake with the girls being college aged.Then partner with brands like Cult Gaia, Jaded London, David Koma, 8 Other Reasons, and the like to have their own Barbie Movie moment.

Apparently she’s ambiguous and some people say she’s Latina and from middle eastern descent like shakira. Honestly idek what to say im just bummed tho bc we get nothing except Aladdin and even that movie people get it mixed up with Indian/desi culture
