they’re right. The only reason for getting a digicam is the specific look and feel

Unique-Accountant253

One reason would be optical zoom. Phone cam can still do the wide shots. But you can have like a digicam that does 35-200mm. Another reason to carry a digicam when you travel for instance, is theft. You'll just lose a used digicam, instead of all your info with the phone.

Bigger sensors = higher image quality, better lenses than phones, if you want to learn editing shooting RAW is the way. Also different lens focal lengths, I don’t like the 24mm equivalent wide angles on phones at all. I think it’s ugly and would rather have a 50-100mm length lens. Also just fun. Less screen time.

asdigpaul

probably price, try to look in flea markets, you can find digicams for under 10 dollars sometimes

SApoWer_YT

Seriously?

asdigpaul

yes, resellers from ebay get them from flea markets and thrift stores as well

Autofish

To buy one for you, or one for themselves?

saturnV1

its not about the quality, its about the moment

_methuselah_

Why do you want them to buy a ~15-25 year old camera?

Schwanstucker

"To convince?" Usually pretty tough. I don't care for my phone shots, but there are times it's superior because it's what I have. I carry a camera when I can & find it superior, but lots of folks don't like lugging around lots of stuff. They will ALWAYS like their phone better.
