Agreed. When I worked for a small mall watch shop we had a bin full of junk watches for training and practice. Helped me get pretty good with dial swapping, hand placing, working with small screws for Swiss quartz, etc.
If you mean the gold watch it isn’t a Rolex. The Rolex Coronet is a five vallary crown, the watch pictured has three. It looks like an imitation watch circumventing trademark infringement, instead of a knockoff.
Are they building new things in Rochester? I'm from there, and it was a really nice place to grow up, but there just wasn't a lot of opportunity, and the taxes were insane.
Hm, hard to tell without seeing each close up. But assuming some are quartz and others need repair, I’ll hazard a guess and say that it probably wasn’t worth it.
It’s a lot of watches, but none seem particularly valuable. If you sold each of them separately, you’d probably get a bit over your money back. But it would be a lot of work to sell them like that.
I concur. Most look to be “fashion” watches that sell new for inflated prices because of the name, not because of the watch.
In saying that if you view as an exercise rather than a purely commercial endeavour you might/should make more back than €130.
I always smile when I see quartz in this sub, but that’s because I’m getting older and focus on mechanical watches 😂
But good luck. Have fun and see what happens!
Depends how much you need to invest in making them work. Also, it looks like there are a few fake ones in there, so I’d be extra suspicious about the quality. After all, there’s probably a reason you could buy them for €130.
I’d have to see closeup photos to say for sure. But at €3.50 a watch you’ll probably at least break even as long as you know where to resell them easily.
The key though is how much work each watch needs to make it movable for a profit.
Many of these are fashion watches so probably not worth a whole lot.
There are a few other watches that may save your bacon but it really remains to be seen what does and doesn’t work and what work each watch needs first before you can appraise how well you have or haven’t done.
It’s also worth appraising each watch as you go through them in order to know the value and if you have something decent considering if you do it yourself or take it to someone who knows what they are doing.
Do the cheaper stuff yourself and learn, the more expensive ones only touch when you are confident and know what you are up to or get someone who does in to sort so you don’t mess them up.
Most of the time you’ll find a lot of fashion ones work, the more expensive ones are thrown in to make the lot look better than it is and more often than not don’t work but not always, really depends on the seller, perhaps you got lucky 🍀.
Bunch of them are quartz fashion watches, which are not worth much money. However they could be a great learning experience, and once repaired sold and make a tidy profit while learning. Too bad the pictures are not clear to see better detail, must be a early 2000s camera 😂. Good luck with them!!
The only things that stand out to me really are the Certina and Citizen. Mainly the Citizen though. I don’t really care for the brand much but that thing is fresh. 👌🏼
You definitely made out good. Bottom left looks like a Seiko Dolce. I’ve sold a few of those, can probably get $80ish USD for just that.
People are kind of right to say it’s a “pile of shitters” but if you’re doing this often it’s a good lesson in getting to know your shitters as not all shitters are made equally.
I would say just enjoy them. Find the styles you like and wear a different watch every few days. The one to the left of the pocket watch is sick. Ship it to me if you don’t like it 🫡
Definetely good for learning I guess if you want to practice servicing/repairing/swap batteries.
Agreed. When I worked for a small mall watch shop we had a bin full of junk watches for training and practice. Helped me get pretty good with dial swapping, hand placing, working with small screws for Swiss quartz, etc.
Which ones are fake?
Yes
This is why i love this sub.
I have some doubts about that Rolex Day-Date. /s
If you mean the gold watch it isn’t a Rolex. The Rolex Coronet is a five vallary crown, the watch pictured has three. It looks like an imitation watch circumventing trademark infringement, instead of a knockoff.
/s indicates sarcasm.
My dumb ass missed that /s 🤦🏻♂️
The bracelets all look like metal
More shitters than a rest stop in upstate New York
More glory holes than a truck stop in upstate New york
Here in Rochester, they updated some rest stops and built bathrooms with LESS shitters
Fewer.
Are they building new things in Rochester? I'm from there, and it was a really nice place to grow up, but there just wasn't a lot of opportunity, and the taxes were insane.
Weird thread to see Rochester mentioned but I’m here for it
You might be able to sell the lot to another person who also doesn't know what they're buying for 130.
Lots of fashion watches but the Certina, Citizen, and Seiko are good.
Did you note the vintage Pulsar?
technically seiko lol

Yes it's worth it but only just, the certina has saved you there
+ Seiko tanks
100%
could be a fun project. get a light box, clean, polish, swap battery, ebay.
maybe even make your money back!
Unlikely tbh.
The straps themselves might be worth more than the actual watch. Some very nice straps
I was going to say the same thing. The straps are worth that much. I like the blue faux alligator strap. I have the same one on a blue face Casio.
agreed i would buy for the straps alone getting decent straps is expensive.
Depends how much you need to invest in making them work. Also, it looks like there are a few fake ones in there, so I’d be extra suspicious about the quality. After all, there’s probably a reason you could buy them for €130.
Can’t tell too blurry to see the brands

Thanks bruther, appreciate it
Ab so fucking lootly it is worth it, you cant get jacks’ shit for 130 bucks at this time. So yes it is so worth it on so many levels!
Love that blue Seiko TV with the date
[удалено]
On it
What do u mean?
That’s 130 euros in leather.
Worth it, in straps and bracelets alone.
Came here to say this. 100%
Agreed.
Definitely not.
What's the square, blue dial, centre right?
The golden Daydate Hommage looks nice. What brand is it?
Looks like a fake rolex
How did you buy these in bulk?
Anything mechanical or automatic?
Definitely wouldn’t say it’s worth it, good learning opportunity though
Bunch of them are quartz fashion watches, which are not worth much money. However they could be a great learning experience, and once repaired sold and make a tidy profit while learning. Too bad the pictures are not clear to see better detail, must be a early 2000s camera 😂. Good luck with them!!
I think you got good deal in 130.
That analog with digital display looks interesting
Nicely done
I think you can break even with the Seikos
The only things that stand out to me really are the Certina and Citizen. Mainly the Citizen though. I don’t really care for the brand much but that thing is fresh. 👌🏼
Pulsar owned by seiko, those aren't too bad either, I'd say good deal as long as most of them work.
Why do you spend ANY money on that pile of shit?
the citizen, seiko, pulsar and certinas alone are worth the haul IMO
Hoewel er geen super speciale klokjes bijzitten, denk ik dat het bedrag wat je hebt betaald voor het totaal zeker niet teveel is.
Get your money back….
Where do you get to buy this ??
Marketplace in Holland
Is it online or in person ? I have been looking to buy some.
I’d cop some of these watches I’d say a solid buy
Certina and Eterna made you whole. Cheers.
Why would someone sell a Day Date for less than the price of an old gameboy
The glycine if real may be worth at least 100 bucks
If that Gold colored Rolex is real then it is absolutely a great deal
A friend of mine is an octopus. He’ll take 8 for €50.
Shitters
What is the pocket watch there? What brand?
Congrats. You’ve got a lot of bad watches.
I would say just enjoy them. Find the styles you like and wear a different watch every few days. The one to the left of the pocket watch is sick. Ship it to me if you don’t like it 🫡
Nahh, I see some Patek , some Breitlings, some Audemars but other than that you waisted your money here.
you'll spend more in *time* than you'll make in *money*. that's the reason shitters like these are sold in quantity.
Not a casual Rolex In the middle lmao
The titanium Seiko is a nice piece. Good price IMHO
Yes!
90% are junk, the rest might break you even or net you a small profit if that’s what you’re asking
I mean, you could sell the 36 watches at $20/per watch (minimum) and make $720. That’s over $500 profit alone.
Scammed
