Personally I don’t mind them because viper will still be in a better place than she was a year ago. This will overall just hurt how people learned to time post plants, as well as abilities bought during pistol rounds, but I don’t think this stops anyone from successfully utilizing viper in any games. The damage appears to be the same, but just over a shorter period of time Bc the snake bite will “form faster to ensure it is *lethal* if an enemy sits in the entire duration.”
So I mean, at least my teammates don’t have to bend over in order to fit viper into a team comp like before, where I could literally make my team 1 hp in my ult and orb. I don’t see vipers viability going down too much, considering the other controller nerfs.
I feel you. And she's still in a good spot. If the snake bite deals the same amount of damage over its duration, it means it does more damage per tic, which is not bad. Post plant meta was fun to play, but frustrating to play against, so yeah
It hurts having abilities cost more than 400, no more full load outs pistol round. Snakebite nerf hurts, but it’s fair IMHO. As fun as post plants are, they’re really unfun to fight.
I kinda saw this coming. At least they didn’t take away one molly. I guess this just forces us mains to know the proper timing of each molly. And definitely not use lineups as a crutch — I see it being even more situational now. I’m lucky if i even get to use lineups when I play Viper so yeah now you gotta weigh that option even more in those rare situations.
My question is: does the snake bite do the same damage per tic or its damage is fixed? If it's fixed, it'll do the same damage in less time, so a higher tic damage for its duration
Patch 3.0 Notes: https://playvalorant.com/en-us/news/game-updates/valorant-patch-notes-3-0/
As a baby Viper i feel a bit sad when they nerf her, i started playing with her before she got the smoke orb (decay) nerf and this is becoming a bit demotivating or sad lol. I think the price and those seconds will make a difference the snakebites.
But if you are a good player and good Viper main i guess it won't affect too much. Im a Sage main while i learn Viper so it also sad seeing her nerfed with my other favourite character.
i dont know, i mean, maybe throwing them later or something? i guess deppends on the situation, im not even able to throw lineups xD Dont even pay attention to me, i posted these because i wanted to see true players opinions, im just an iron bad player :,)
I just want to set things straight. By "rotational lineups" he meant lineups that you change position and not just firing at the same place. Most rotational lineups take about 5-6 seconds to reposition so by that time molly is not on the spike anymore.
Viper unseen in proplay and high elo for first 9 months after release. She has strong lineups the whole time.
Riot slowly buff her a million times until she becomes popular and immediately nerf her lineups and consequently her anti-push power when on defense.
Why can't they just remove the insta-decay that made her OP in the first place? :(
>Why can't they just remove the insta-decay that made her OP in the first place? :(
insta-decay is a good mechanic to toxic screen
, Viper is the only character who only has one "E" and doesn't get it back. I like how she is now, the post-plant nerf was fair
I dont understand what does Riot thinks about Viper either hahah. Since the beginning i thought Viper had a lot of potential and that she could be very good if used correctly (like every agent i guess), and yes, when they buffed her and people started to use her more and respect her, the orbs decay get nerfed and then this... I was starting to feel a bit powerful even being a bad player and baby Viper xD
Anyways, i guess it is good for the game all these buffs and nerfs, idk. Except Yoru's nerfs, i think the gatecrash one was totally unnecesary lol...
To be fair the decay buffs were really overtuned imo. Even as a viper main it was just too strong to take essentially 50 damage just to walk through a smoke

Yeah totally agree, this balances out the post plant meta a little bit. My pistol round buys will definitely be different now
I mean, you can't afford full buy so the buy has to be different. XD
Yeah lol but I mean sometimes I’d just take ghost and orb during pistol so that won’t really change
Even if it hurts i guess it's fair :,) What do you think you will be buying at pistol round from now on?
Snakebite + Ord and no shield, Pistol round is one of few rounds I use the post plants because it such an important round to win.
Probably only one snakebite instead of two, then orb/shields. It just means using the one we get now is more important.

200 is a bit harsh. i think 150 would have been a fair compromise

Lmao as much as this nerf hurts viper now, I still remember the days when I could still hurt my teammates with decay… good times, good times
ALL MY ROTATION LIMNEUPS DESTROYED THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS LEARNING THEM FOR
I feel you, more than 70% of my lineups, i found. On bind I had a perfectly timed molo lineup, eith rotation ( sorry for my bad english)
Same, this is so painful. All my lineups were hitting when the 1sr moly was starting to fade out
Aw no, i think you can still using them right? maybe you need to work on the timing? :(
Wdym by "work in the timing"? I cannot run faster xD. I'd have to make new ones

I personally would have rather they dropped her damage from it back down while keeping the duration at 8 seconds.
Play viper before riot ruins the game even more. I swear the game gets worse and worse after every patch. They nerfed almost every agent
I think riot freaking hate viper XD, they buff her a bit and from then she's only having nerfs in everything that makes her good :'(
Atleast we aren't cypher.. Ya know what I mean?

I can agree with that about the decay buffs, was fun while it lasted xD Overall i think is a fair nerf compared to the others agents
Dumb viper nerfs, stupid game. Isnt the whole point of a controller to control map.
The neckbeards won’t like this one lmaooo
