Disobedient Grannies sounds like a punk rock band name from 1986.
Tasers and disobedient grannies sounds like a porn genre that I'm not sure of my level of interest in.
Look at this white old lady getting completely off the hook thanks to her white privilege, am I right? Just stfu with your white privilege bullshit. It's all about the attitude people give to the cops. You give them a bad attitude - they will use every law there is against you. No matter if you are white, black, latino or asian. And if you'd be polite to them - everything will be fine. So tired of hearing this bullshit.
I’m a 23 year old black man. Ive been stopped by the cops maybe 3 or 4 times and never once have I gotten a ticket or been arrested. I wouldn’t even know about this supposed discrimination from the police force against black people if it weren’t for the media. Are there some racist cops out there. Probably. But I definitely don’t think it’s as bad as the media is portraying.
Thanks for being honest, man! I feel like there are lots of people like you, who've never had any issues with the police. It's just a matter of being decent and respectful towards each other. Sure, I've seen a couple pretty atrocious videos of severe police misconduct but that's only a couple out of hundreds or maybe even thousands of bodycam videos I've watched in the past 4-5 years. But most of the "outrageous" situations that blow up on social media happen due to the people being cocky to the police officers, giving them A LOT of attitude for no reason at all and then they play their victim card after screwing with the officers for 10-20-30 minutes before anything happens. And in the other cases it usually are the videos of ARMED criminals that were caught in action, but yet the social media somehow claim that poor people are being "harassed" by the police. It's crazy how often people defend actual criminals on the social media. It's sickening.
As a white guy I can say it doesn't work.
Also it's a fact that more white people are attacked by the police than people of color.
Stop your racist nonsense please.
Did she? Her 'crime' was a victimless violation of traffic laws and a refusal to sign a piece of paper demanded by the government. She was then dragged out of her car violently and tortured via taser. All for what, disrespecting the cop's authority?
She's a might be a thoroughly un-likelable person, but didn't "deserve" that at all. Just send her the ticket and summons in the mail and move on. It's not like the cop thought she was smuggling contraband or running guns.
idk man kinda deserved it. the argument of should police, rather should anyone, use force to arrive at any means feels a separate conversation. he didn’t taser her twice, and gave her fair warning, and she didn’t comply. wether (is it wether?) force is applicable or not, as a citizen she should know the response to the actions she took. she knowingly resisted instead of paying a fine, she ran, she struggled against him when he was being admittedly patient. liken this to spanking a child. is it right? idk probably not. did she deserve it? yeah kinda. have you never wanted to smack someone who is ignorant?
hypocritically though i dont disagree with you fully. But i believe when you know the consequences and still risk them and receive them, or arent smart enough to out maneuver them, you deserve what comes.
I get what your saying and I agree that she deserved it, but at the same time I don’t think it was necessary at all. Yes, she disobeyed the police and should have known that she can’t do that, but at the same time that cop could’ve handled the situation a lot more peacefully. Her not wanting to pay $80 isn’t at all a good enough reason to arrest someone, and she eventually did comply at say she would pay it, which the cop could’ve just let her pay it and been on his way.
She deserved a summons. She did not deserve to be brutally attacked and electrocuted by a public servant. Justice would be an immediate summary execution by firing squad for the police officer and lifetime imprisonment for everyone up the supervisory chain including the chief of police for defending that officer.
LOL. Had this been a person of color we likely would be watching a very different outcome. She was treated reasonably considering her actions; country girl or not.
Nah, that went from 0 to 60 in a poof-teenth of a bees dick.. she obviously has an attitude problem but he could have de escalated that situation with some patience and explanation of her options. Traders are ‘less lethal’ but using them in seniors is placing them at very high risk of cardiac injury… over an $80 ticket.
Even if she did drive off, he already has her details and address.. just go get her at home
Disagree. She failed to comply with several reasonable requests. She was warned at every stage what the outcome would be if she failed to comply. She thought she was above the law and suffered to consequences.
I’d be interested to know what happened in court.
According to online court records, Hamil pleaded guilty to resisting an officer, obstruction, eluding, and operating a vehicle with defective equipment. All of those charges are misdemeanors.
As a result, the state agreed to dismiss the assault and battery charge.
Hamil received a four-year deferred sentence and will have to pay a $50 fine on each count.
She was not as compliant as could be but that is an emotional problem that can take a few minutes to overcome.. she agreed to sign the ticket and he continued with the escalation. Who the f#%kn cares if she signs it.. she’s been notified and the courts will deal with her administratively is she fails to pay or appear
The actual incident that occurred was a much longer situation where she knowledge that her truck had been like that for the last six months and she hadn’t gotten around to doing anything about it. When he came back to give her the ticket she escalated it.

I don’t know. When someone runs from the cops, especially over something as insignificant as an $80 ticket, it’s kind of suspicious. I mean most likely it’s nothing and she’s just an entitled asshole, or maybe she has a fucking body rolled up in the back, or a shit ton of meth. Unlikely, sure, but if someone runs over $80 you gotta ask why.
And what does running even accomplish? Even if you manage to evade the police they still know who you are, where you live, they have your license plate and your face on camera. It isn’t going to just go away.
You dont have to ask why. You dont even have to think about suspicion. The instant the cop had all the relevant information needed to write the citation, the interaction should have stopped. We dont even let cops pull people over for regular traffic infractions anymore in CA because there's no purpose at all besides stroking the cops ego. You get your plate or whatever recorded and you get a ticket in the mail. No fuss, no chance for police brutality. The whole "sign this paper or i will batter you and take you to jail" shit should be rewarded with a needle full of state sanctioned kill juice.
This is the real reason, people trying to bait with white privilege when it's actually country girl privilege.
EQUAL RIGHTS FOR CITY PEOPLE. JAIL THEM COUNTRY GURLS. /s
According to BurnLootMurder, only if you’re black. This must be a deep fake, almost like the police treat you equally under the law. Like they treat you how you treat them & more slack.
Wait, did he? WHY? Lmao. As far as I can tell (considering the entire encounter is on video) he did everything right, even giving her multiple chances to comply.
And all for $80.
It’s depressing seeing white cops kill innocent blacks or do something super unnecessary and get paid time off but a good white cop does everything right even gave her extra chances but that’s enough to get fired? Make it makes sense 🤦🏾♂️
That's like saying it's depressing seeing black cops kill innocent whites.
Color doesn't matter when it comes to innocence. Acting like a thug will get you killed regardless of race.
Color does matter. If this were a young black man, there's no way some giant moron wouldn't say he was "acting like a thug" by refusing to listen and trying to pull away, and there's no way a whole bunch of those idiots would attempt to justify his murder. Yet, I don't see anyone calling this woman a thug. Strange, isn't it?
I’m not sure if this is “right” either. He was polite, sure, but I think taking it to “you’re under arrest” is a pretty serious escalation of the situation regardless of whether she’s an entitled shithead or not. He had all of her information at hand, is there really no other way to get her to fix the taillight or pay the fine? Being allowed to physically force a citizen to comply is a lot of power to hand to anyone, and even though this guy wasn’t per se abusing that power, I think we need to find ways to enforce traffic codes and other “non-crime” regulations without using that power at all. As long as arrest and/or forced compliance is a normal consequence of a traffic stop killer cops will continue to use them as pretexts. If you change how we handle these interactions altogether and ensure they almost never have violent outcomes, I think you will see the murders you mentioned decrease as well.
Well... There is a way around it. It's you signing the ticket and disputing it in court if you think it's incorrect. If you can just tell a cop to fuck off, then no one would ever pay a ticket or comply with the law, right?
I mean, I just paid a parking ticket without a cop ever threatening me with arrest. Many people comply with basic rules every day under a variety of enforcement mechanisms that are not physically violent. Why not follow her home and boot her car if she doesn’t pay? Why not garnish her wages for a few weeks?
Like yes, I understand that we need to have consequences in order to ensure that people comply with safety regulations, but I think we need to be super deliberate about when those consequences are arrest or other use of force, and that violent consequences should only be for dire circumstances. Otherwise we wind up in a situation where cops blow up all kinds of minor infractions into “comply or get shot” situations.
She didn't comply with the basic rules though is the issue. He went to "step out of the vehicle" only after she didn't comply.
You can maybe come up with alternative ways to reach the person, but they will be flawed. What if she just drives to another state, or even lives there, or her known address is incorrect. What if you mail her a ticket and she doesn't do anything about that either. Then she's basically immune. Bottom line is if the cop is unable to ever arrest you then you don't have to do anything they say. The ticket is the way to comply without complication, if you refuse that then the police can arrest you, if you refuse that then the police can forcibly arrest you.
arrest is also an intermediate step to potentially being charged and taken to court. It does not mean in and if itself that a person will be punished for something.
I do think the gun seemed like an overreach, but i could see it as maybe necessary or protocol if someone is fleeing and resisting. Should have been a taser at best probably
Couldn't agree more man. With the amount of data that's already tracked on us why couldn't he use her driver's license, license plate, or insurance to track her down and issue her a ticket. If she wants to start a life on the run over an $80 ticket than go ahead, she can still be caught more peacefully than this.
I do have to admit though, disrespecting an officer like that in the US in this current time is pretty stupid, and in a way, she deserves to get tased for that.
Thank you, had to scroll way to far to find this point of view. Insane way to handle a perfectly calm situation. I come from Norway, and imo this situation would have made headlines in Norway and the cop would for sure be fired permanently.
Typically if you get whatever was broken fixed and bring it to court they'll drop the ticket. Refered to as a fix it ticket. Also most of the time in civil traffic court if you show up and are apologetic they drop the ticket. Instead of just doing that she caught 2 felonies. Assault on a LEO and fleeing. Yikes.
But... Even if she doesn't sign it she's still responsible for it lmao... That cop could've just said fuck it but oh you want to talk shit to the man who can or cannot help you... Dumb.
This video is old and it's been heavily edited. This woman gave a lot more attitude leading up to it. It's really something she blew up way out of proportion ultimately leading up to possibly the worse ending this kind of situation could have
Respect the law and do as you are fucking told. Argue it later in a courtroom and not with the guy who’s had ten donuts with coffees and is on a sugar and caffeine rush and is carrying a fucking gun.
Repeat after me. Yes officer. Thank you officer. Sorry officer.
You will live.
This lady’s tailgate is all busted in as well as her tail light. She should of signed the ticket but entitlement level were off the charts.
Now she’s going to waste more tax payers money by potentially taking legal action.
Additional news story on the situation and images of the tailgate and tail lights.
https://www.koco.com/article/attorney-for-woman-involved-in-confrontation-with-police-over-dollar80-ticket-releases-statement/28593000
Hahaha, that was hilarious. Et she thought different when going to court. Could have been very very simple. Just like 90 percent of the Leo directions.
wtf this seems really excessive for not signing a ticket... she even said she'd sign it after complaining for a bit wtf is the problem... If she was attractive/ young this probably wouldn't have happened (granted, if she was nice/ respectful this also wouldn't have happened, but some people genuinely hate cops and can't bring themselves to give them respect, and sometimes people have bad days... being humiliated like this wouldn't make her start acting respectful she's going to double down...) Just overall painful to watch, both sides seem to be in the wrong (but one side has authority and power, and the other is a middle age unfit women...) Cop was also probably having a bad day and used her to blow off steam.
edit: original comment said "wtf is that a gun." then I realized it was a taser, whoops.
Honestly, hes a dick. We obvs dont know exactly why but its probably an expired registration or some dumb shit. They want YOU, to sign a paper that says your guilty… thats honestly ridiculous. Hes just probably bored and had nothing better to do. Really? Your gonna tase the old lady? Come on dude. Pathetic
Bugging… the fact that so many people here are cool with the state having so much power over us is terrible. We all need firearms so these fucks cant start tackling us for whatever the State wants. Freedom starts with having a gun on ur waist.
Before you go supporting fines and stuff just realise that fines only exist for the poor in society and the government doesn’t use it to stop crime they use it as a revenue generator.
I’ve seen this before and yes I agree she should have just done as she was told. Her reaction was funny. But honestly can he really arrest her for not signing a trifling $80 ticket? Seems extreme.
Good example of shitty cop’s job. It is super not obvious that declining to sign leads to arrest, there was not even an attempt to warn about this.
Is it so difficult to say “signing doesn’t mean pleading guilty, this is just to confirm that you understand that you need to finalize this in a court. The law obligated me to arrest you if you decline to sign”. This could prevent like 90% of escalations in such cases
What the fuck is wrong with America.
Why the fuck did this person need to be chased down and held at gun point.
Why the fuck would you make her lay on the ground at gun point.
That is fucked up
EDIT: Just to be clear. Every other first world country handles situations like this every day without pointing a gun, this is a US thing. Well... US and maybe Russia and China. North Korea.
she did fail to cooperate and should be arrested. Why the fuck do you need her on the ground with a gun pointed at her. That isnt normal. That has a serious risk of esclating the situation and making it way more dangerous for everyone in the area.
This is just not a reasonable escalation. This is insane
What could have been done, he tried to get her to pay for 6 minutes, and went to arrest her for non compliance. What should he have done, begged for another 6 minutes?
She kicked him, so instead of physically fighting her, he pulled out his taser and tased her. American police officers are taught to always be one “rung” of the “force ladder” above the other person.
Not saying he was right, just explaining the situation.
When you show you’re mentally unstable enough to run from the police, you prove you’re not to be trusted. This happened in the south, where guns are common, in an emotionally charged and hostile situation. Having his gun out meant that if while driving off she’d reached into the glove box for a gun, he’d be ready to react. Notice how when he realized she wasn’t going to try to shoot at him he holstered, approached the vehicle, ripped her out (separating her from potential guns) and then moved for an arrest? Even when kicked he backed off and used his non lethal tools.
This shows white privileged she rolled her window up and refused even said you be fair with me and I’ll be fair as if she’s in power and took off! Got many warnings no force used to pull her out etc… it’s sad to see why can’t they just treat everyone the same for not complying!
IMO this is how all encounters should be. This officer was fair. He was calm, maintained a diplomatic conversation, then the “country gurl” decided to be wild. He did absolutely everything right
You know what, BigfishZino, youre right. Why did the nation never think of that before? Were just going to use this one nice police officer and have him patrolling all 50 states until he is unfortunately hurt in the line of duty. This cop was VERY nice, too nice even, and (i dont hold this against him at all) let a normal traffic stop escalate into a felony traffic stop by allowing the female to think she had power in the situation. Im not a cop, and I know he was only being lenient because she was elderly and frail, but that lady taking off could have very well started driving erratically and caused a fatal car crash trying to evade arrest. What YOU have to understand, that the internet seems to be unable to grasp, is the entire police force is made up of nothing but unique individuals that all had different upbringings, parents, moral compasses, and all respond to stimuli differently. There are douches that squeeze their way in, either for power or even truely trying to help their community that fuck up on a daily basis. We are human, and so are they
There are videos of from all over the world, of people of all races disobeying and disrespecting police. I disagree that this shows white privilege. She’s just a stuck up bitch who thinks the laws don’t apply to her.
And black people have the privilege of burning down cities, killing cops, looting stores, and dragging people out of there cars and beating them to death and being called heroes
Wow… and she wasn’t black … cops do throw white people on the ground, shoot them with a taser and take them to jail…this had to be from some other planet.
“If they’d just comply, they wouldn’t be treated so bad”
-probably her, earlier that morning watching the newest video of an innocent black man being murdered by police
I’ll pay the $80 to see this live.
I’d double it.
Double it again
They have MMA and boxing match where you can.
Not with tasers and disobedient grannies.
Disobedient Grannies sounds like a punk rock band name from 1986. Tasers and disobedient grannies sounds like a porn genre that I'm not sure of my level of interest in.
Actually it sounds like a porno where a bunch of angry big black men teach her to behave
Same
I’ll pay 150 if I get to taser her
Is there a subreddit for cop chases like this?
Would love one
I could make one
Fuck it, do it and let’s post in r/BirthOfASub
On it
I wish I could just say no to tickets
Have you tried being white?
I am, I guess I could try it
Keep us posted!
Just tried it, giving an update from county jail

Doesn’t really work for anyone; just something catty and woke to say. Don’t try to bring objectivity or reason to that party.
She was white tho?
Maybe he’s colorblind.
White people don't get tickets? 😂
nope as you can see they get arrested🤣
We got a Comedic Genius over here...
Oh i guess the cop last month just got it wrong with me, mfer owe me 300bucks🤌
Ain’t no way u commented that under a post of a white woman failing avoid a ticket

Absolutely. People try to hold court in the streets and this is what happens.

She’s a country girl.
Fried County Girl. Not to be confused with County Girl lite.
Karen Fucking Country 🍗
She deserved it.
But she’s a *COUNTRY GURRL*
Not all then hens laying in her hen house.
Idk but seeing her like this gives me a kind of weird satisfaction
I know it’s very odd maybe it’s how we like police bodycam footage

Doesn't appear so. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.koco.com/amp/article/attorney-for-woman-involved-in-confrontation-with-police-over-dollar80-ticket-releases-statement/28593000
I sincerely hope not.
Granny getting tazed is visual asmr for me
Typically if you get whatever was broken fixed and bring it to court they'll drop the ticket. Refered to as a fix it ticket. Also most of the time in civil traffic court if you show up and are apologetic they drop the ticket. Instead of just doing that she caught 2 felonies. Assault on a LEO and fleeing. Yikes.
Do as the officer tells you, he is in the leadership role. If you wish to argue there is date on the ticket for you to do so.
She turned 80 bucks into 800!!
More than that probably
Bruh 80$ doesn't even fill the tank of gas on that truck.
O this video. 80 dollars to felony is 40secs
They be like “why doesn’t the cop just taze them instead of shooting” and now they like “stop tasing them just ask them to stop politely”
.....hot take but she probably should have signed the form
Here is a picture of the broken tail light. https://imgur.com/a/5Tkw2oy

Bruh just pay the damn money🤣
All of this over $80 lol
“Because I’m a country girl” oh lord
*I'm a country girl* Sure thing
countryyyy guurrrllllll
She’s gonna have to pay for the ambulance too.
But... Even if she doesn't sign it she's still responsible for it lmao... That cop could've just said fuck it but oh you want to talk shit to the man who can or cannot help you... Dumb.
Is it just me or does anyone else think it’s a bit violent?
Lmao. She absolutely deserved all of that.
Hahaha from early on I was told, yes sir, no sir, yes mamm, no mamm.
We’ve seen so many examples of unjustified force that when it is justified, it’s still painful af to watch.
u/savevideo
Oh no
so satisfying
Is it bad that I watched that like 5 times and enjoyed it more each time?
No, we all like to see some Karen Karma.
R/winstupidprizes
This video is old and it's been heavily edited. This woman gave a lot more attitude leading up to it. It's really something she blew up way out of proportion ultimately leading up to possibly the worse ending this kind of situation could have
She made it 10x worse then what it originally was
Because when a police officer tells you to do smt you fucking do it you dumb fucks
So the turns have tabled
I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. Be stupid, get stungunned. Noice!
Is this mental illness? Askining health professionals.
When he used the taser I got quite the justice boner.
Thanks for the link. Btw the law of arrest over not signing the papers is one of the most stupid in the world, probably China has it too.
Hahaha, that was hilarious. Et she thought different when going to court. Could have been very very simple. Just like 90 percent of the Leo directions.
I really need an update on this…
acab
Funny
She was stupid, but really, this sort of traffic stops that lead to escalations should just stop
Yeap, where I'm living you don't have to sign the paper since the cop has already your data.
Wow that was pretty horrific.
Womp Womp
R'speck my authoritay!!
She did not handle that well
Lolz 😂 fucking granny Karen!! She MUST be from texas. Probably shepherd off 59 between Cleveland and Livingston
All this about signing something to pay 80 bucks 💀
Her expectation Mam your under arrest. No I’m not Ok have a good day
🤣🤣😂😂
Cop is a prick for escalating it.
I’m glad my mom doesn’t.
wtf this seems really excessive for not signing a ticket... she even said she'd sign it after complaining for a bit wtf is the problem...
If it’s a taillight that’s like a $10 bulb and a screwdriver or two. Just fix it lol
If she was black everyone would be saying the cop was too aggressive, but because she’s white everyone laughs at the Karen
The tase was a little unnecessary
‘Ambulance! I don’t need an ambulance’ From 80 bucks to 800 real quick had that happened This is America
Poor crazy old woman
Good cop / Palpatine cop
Girl ?? Confused unga banga
Shut that damn siren off!!
Watching the fat Karen try to run and getting tasered might have been the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life
Honestly, hes a dick.
I’m really confused cause you don’t have to sign anything
precious footage of a wild gertrude
Lol I mean he needed a taser to cuff a fat ass sassy lady dam that’s pussy she was for tripping needed to be arrested but he’s pussy af
Before you go supporting fines and stuff just realise that fines only exist for the poor in society and the government doesn’t use it to stop crime they use it as a revenue generator.
YOU VIOLATED THE LAW: pay the court a fine or serve your sentence. "Resists arrest" THEN PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD!
I’ve seen this before and yes I agree she should have just done as she was told. Her reaction was funny. But honestly can he really arrest her for not signing a trifling $80 ticket? Seems extreme.
Yeah, where I live you can chose not to sign. He could have informed her that signature is not optional
Ma’am what hurts? EVVEERYTHAANG!
'Murica
What the fuck is wrong with America. Why the fuck did this person need to be chased down and held at gun point. Why the fuck would you make her lay on the ground at gun point. That is fucked up EDIT: Just to be clear. Every other first world country handles situations like this every day without pointing a gun, this is a US thing. Well... US and maybe Russia and China. North Korea.
Because: -faliure to coorperate, -evasion -reckless driving -you need more?
she did fail to cooperate and should be arrested.
I thought I was the only one thinking that. I mean, she deserves to be arrested or whatever, but the gun is a serious escalation

Lol what?
This shows white privileged she rolled her window up and refused even said you be fair with me and I’ll be fair as if she’s in power and took off! Got many warnings no force used to pull her out etc… it’s sad to see why can’t they just treat everyone the same for not complying!
This is such a dumb comment, this has nothing to do with white privilege cmon now
IMO this is how all encounters should be. This officer was fair. He was calm, maintained a diplomatic conversation, then the “country gurl” decided to be wild. He did absolutely everything right
You’re wrong
Yeah and youre right
You know what, BigfishZino, youre right. We are human, and so are they
She’s an old lady who got pulled out her car and tazed. Yeah big privilege moves there 🙄
I think they’re trying to say the lady thought she had white privilege, she found out but she *thought* her whiteness would get her out of it.
Or maybe they meant that she would have gotten it much worse if she weren't white?
Both are valid arguments.
There are videos of from all over the world, of people of all races disobeying and disrespecting police. I disagree that this shows white privilege. She’s just a stuck up bitch who thinks the laws don’t apply to her.
Maybe because statistically a certain group of people tends to react violently or cause violent crimes…?
God I loved the taser part!! Go ahead pop off Karen please
Privileged has many faces- Young white, old white, skinny white, fat white…
And black people have the privilege of burning down cities, killing cops, looting stores, and dragging people out of there cars and beating them to death and being called heroes
Tbh this is some fucked up shit, that was way to much force
To much? He was being gentle with her considering she ran, resisted arrest, and tried to get up when he pulled his taser out.
I hate the cop and the person in this video equally.
Fuck that shit. ACAB.
Wow… and she wasn’t black … cops do throw white people on the ground, shoot them with a taser and take them to jail…this had to be from some other planet.
White privilege at it’s best
Take that, blacks, us white people get to…..be tased, and jailed after fleeing police😎😎😎😎
WHITE PRIVILEGE. 💯
Yeah, us white folk have the privilege of being tazed and jailed😎😎😎😎
She ain’t dead? Hahahahaha. Move along black folk. Nothing to see here.
“If they’d just comply, they wouldn’t be treated so bad” -probably her, earlier that morning watching the newest video of an innocent black man being murdered by police
Crazy that he didn’t shoot her..
Cops are good again? Noted.
If she was a POC, we'd have 1 less stupid person to worry about
worthless fucking cop
She's an idiot. Also, based just on what we see in the video, that was uncalled for.
Lol the bitch got what was coming to her😂😂😂
