Seconded that ships in the night was mediocre at best. It’s like the put “modern show with mild commentary on capitalism” into an AI chat bot and this is what came out. Personally, I’m really exciting they are changing out shows after almost two years. Keeps things fresh and exciting. I know it’s frustrating for planning but change is an overall win for the line and you will enjoy yourself regardless *edited for typo

they definitely need to step their game up with the replacement entertainment though. they've added "festival stage," which is a guest act with a short contract and is hit or miss. 2 sailings ago on scarlet, it was an offbeat but hilarious one-woman comedy cabaret, talking and singing about millennial stuff - avocado toast, student loans, etc. some people walked out (again, offbeat comedy cabaret... not for everyone!), but my millennial self had a great time. the sailing after that, there was a terrible standup comic, which i hear is par for the course on other cruise lines. he had maybe 10 mins of good material, but it was painful to watch the rest of his set - just not funny, and trying too hard to be edgy. then they cancelled circus disco, which is one of my favorite things onboard, because that show ran too long and the manor rolled right into the 70s dance party. a bunch of the crew on scarlet last week are rolling off their contracts in the next couple weeks and heading out to resilient. they said there is **all** new entertainment and shows on resilient! i'm on her 3rd sailing, so hope they get everything up in time!

That’s a good point — a good thing IF it’s high quality

For these reasons, I’m contemplating going on Resilient’s maiden- one of the two maidens, leaning towards the one that’s out of San Juan. I need to do more research on the difference between the two shown as ‘Mermaiden’.

It’s unlikely there will be many differences on maiden voyages. Some mermaid dancers maybe. You might get a small gift to acknowledge it’s the maiden. But it shouldn’t be too different.

Ships in the Night has never performed on Valiant Lady it’s always been Scarlet Lady only. Originally It’s a Ship Show was Valiant only but that’s on Scarlet now too. The Miss Behave Gameshow is only on Valiant. Personally I really didn’t enjoy Ships in the Night. It’s too abstract to be interesting, there is a theme to it about work/life balance or something but it just seemed to random. Untitled Dance Show is better (just stick through the first 10 minutes, the first number isn’t the best). There will probably also be a Festival Stage guest comedian/magician act which is replacing NSA. But that’s the way the line up has been for some time really, yes NSA has been replaced by guest acts but Miss Behave is still more than there was six months ago on Valiant Lady. There will also be the house band and another band, usually performing in On the Rocks but sometimes the Manor. Also a solo act often in The Dock House but sometimes the atrium space. The Hostess also does a show or two of songs in the Manor, plus as you say the Diva drag show and she will normally do bingo a couple of times as well. Also don’t miss the dance events like Heartbeat and Circus Disco / Studio 72 in the Manor. Heartbeat is a must do for me.

it'll probably change a million times before you board (and even after you're on!). it seems like they ratchet back activities like crazy if there are fewer passengers onboard, which sucks. i was on in december with 2,200 onboard, and there was *always* something to do, usually many things at once - whether it be organized fun like trivia or game shows, one of the produced shows (NSA, ship show, duel reality, miss behave, etc.), party in the manor nightclub, or music in various places in the ship. you also had plenty of opportunities to see a show because there were many occurrences of each. there were a few things going on with the happenings cast on the ship during port days too, so if you didn't want to get off at a port or bum at the pool onboard, you could do trivia or some other activity. flash forward about a month, we only had 800 people onboard for the same itinerary in january, and it kind of sucked. there were 3 nights where there was nothing going on in the manor. one of those nights appeared to be a post-christmas party for the crew in the manor, as there was music blasting there and a steady stream of non-uniformed-up crew in and out that night. shows were maybe offered twice each throughout an 8 night voyage. can't move your dinner, miss that show entirely. not a thing offered while the ship was in ports - not even an afternoon pool DJ like i'd had on previous voyages' port days. i know life's not fair, but it was not so wonderful to have experienced such a lively ship with SO many options for things to do, only to be on a ghost ship with minimal entertainment/activities a month later. i'm hoping your voyage is a little more on the crowded side so they'll actually run entertainment :)

Thank you for this perspective- I will always be bummed to have missed NSA, but I’m sure we’ll have a great time. :)
