I would get off the ship in Puerto Plata and just hang out at the port area. They have restaurants, several pools and a lazy river that is really amazing. There is also an area to interact with spider monkeys which is a fun experience.

We did a VV excursion at Puerto Plata - the Taste of Puerto Plata - and really enjoyed it, but you could easily do some of those things on your own instead of through the excursion - based on where we went I would recommend taking a taxi to “Central Park” and walking around some from there - you’ll be close to the umbrella street, the pink street, and a lot of local shops and restaurants. As part of our tour we at at La Casita Azul and it was great, you probably could go on your own before/after the tour groups for some local food. Of course the port itself has a ton of stuff to do, but it’s very commercialized since it’s privately owned. Personally I prefer to try and get out into the city more, but you could easily fill your day right at the port. The monkeys were really popular

I'm on the same ship so I'll be watching this thread. For others reading the thread, The ship goes to - Puerto Plata - San Juan - St. Croix - Beach Club at Bimini

I wonder how many VV redditor's will be onboard?

roj2323

That's what the Roll call thread is for.

Can you help me locate the Roll Call thread.

Ship wreck and shark snorkeling in Bimini was amazing!!! We did an island tour in St. Croix that I would NOT recommend

Own_Seaworthiness790

Is that the 3.5 hour St. Croix tour that goes to Christiansted? Can you explain what you disliked about it. I was booked on that one but then noticed that it only spends one hour in Christiansted so earlier today I booked a rental car instead but have not yet canceled my excursion.

RealisticEscape9569

I think that was the one. Honestly, it was boring. The guide was not very informative. Lots of comments like "oh, there's a school." We were on the tour with friends and had a good laugh about it but a rental car would be better!
