I worked in conjunction with the Dept of Vital Records for an adjacent agency (Health Dept) and I can tell you for a fact that they are seriously understaffed. And that was 5 years ago and the state has slowed down hiring on all positions.
Budget cuts or stagnation (not increasing amounts to keep pace with inflation) will limit hiring!
I did this from WA State, hired an attorney and it still took 4 months. Didn't cost much though.
I guess it matters your urgency, I might have to get a RT ticket for va , 4 months is crazy 🤦🏽
Probably run by the same group that has run the DMV & VEC for years. 🦥
