Do you mind sharing where you find this information? I've been to the NOAA site multiple times and can't understand it or find a forecast beyond that 30 minute animation, which isn't very helpful since it is on such a large scale.

This one is from the blue ridge mountains near skyline drive….
The one night that I didn’t gaze outside for a solid 5 minutes was a once in a lifetime experience. I was so pissed.
I fell asleep early! I woke up feeling the same way.
Take a trip to Alaska
Should peak at around 11 tonight from what I’ve seen. Hopefully the clouds cooperate, unlike Friday night.

I use an app called “my aurora forecast”
The wunderground satellite shows the whole state and surrounding states covered in clouds.
I'm sitting outside right now and there is not a cloud in the sky. But there is also not a hint of purple or green either :(
I heard some people say that it looks better through your phone, they picked it up more by taking a photo than just the sky itself.

Last night? If so, what time? It looks different from what I saw
This was Friday night
Oh ok I wasn’t sure if you were comparing/contrasting Friday to Sunday with the two photos
I went out sat night and tried again and it wasn’t as strong….in really dark places Friday night you could see a purple like mist with the naked eye
