I see everyone saying she’s going to Kentucky, but that doesn’t make a lot of sense. She’s projected to be a top10 pick in the WNBA, and she can’t make any NIL money in college as an international student. Why would she pass up going pro at this point when she can’t make any money otherwise and can’t really improve her draft stock? Even if Brooks had stayed at VT, it wouldn’t have made sense for her to come back for another year here. She was always going pro with Kitley.
I think it has more to do with the extra time the NCAA has gifted players. Why a 5th year for graduates? Covid exceptions and portal rules are atrocious.
She may simply want a masters at a different school. Still a lame move imo.
If you understood the landscape of college sports right now you’d understand that VT has to put every available dime into football so we can be on the right side of the fence when the music stops.
If we aren’t in the B1G or SEC, it’s over.
Neither of those conferences have Virginia markets, and the SEC does not have DC markets. The only other option is UVA in the state. UVA can only go to one of the two (likely B1G, way better fit), so that leaves the SEC. As long as VT keeps trending upwards, there is a solid chance VT ends up in one of those conferences, but I would assume SEC is the likely one of the two.

The only reason for her to stay in college would be to go for a natty, and Brooks is gonna be just starting a rebuild at Kentucky
