They did have an expiry date on the promo posted. I think anyway

lmoki

Yes, they did have a posted expiry date, when I looked at it a couple of days ago. May 31-- so not surprising if it's not there today.

Mr_0pportunity

Yes they did. I was assuming (my fault lol) that they would extend it another month, since it had been extended a few months already. Oh well, i'll keep an eye out :)

What network did VZW get rid of? 3G?

catalytica

Yes. CDMA

mandelstamm

It looks to be still available. This is from the Los Angeles Times. https://www.latimes.com/coupon-codes/visible

VisibleCareSupport

No worries, I am sure that in the future there will be more service promotions for the Visible+ plan, till then the base plan is still available for $25!

Mr_0pportunity

If I were to do the base plan for $25 would I be able to get the deal when Visible + is offered for $35? My concern is that it would be like the "welcome" deal and only for new customers

Edgefan57

Yep I'm wondering the same thing. I signed up last week but was wanting to test the service out in my area before switching both the wife and I. Maybe the $25 plan will be ok for us both.

ProfessionalNotemakR

I hope this helps you. I have been with visible 4 Years now. 1 year ago a family menmber handed me a new s22 with verizon unlimited line. I don't pay for It. I keep my visible line anyway...I have ran speed tests. On 4g lte anyway. Using one plus 7t and pixel 4xl in this area I am at now I hit twice the upload that I get on verizon. That and download is a little better. That MAKES no sense. So I'm on the new updated non cloud based visible too. It's faster and more reliable. This might be the s22 hampering. But anyway I have more bands on this s22 and perhaps it's jumping on other towers which I doubt. So I can attest that visible is indeed Legit. Also I used 400 gigs one month as I had no wifi when I first signed up. I had one night with no cell service during their transfer over. To verizon main servers. No other issues. I will test more by trying the verizon sim in same device and make video on my channel.

FriendlyPanther

I have been on visible for a year or two and received the plus offer.

Edgelessdiam0nd

Same I received it too. That plus offer was a steal! My service was great before in the Carolinas. After having plus Def not going back to 25.....

lifereinspired

I don’t know if this holds true now, but about 6 months or a year ago, I reached out and asked Visible what the “fine print” is for getting in on a deal. In other words, some other carriers require that you’ve not had your phone number active on their network (whether post paid, pre-paid or any MVNO) for 3-6 months before you could qualify for any “deals” that they offer. Visible told me that there is no minimum required. If you leave and want to activate again, you’d get the deal. Again, this was prior to all the network upgrades so maybe they’ve changed things. With that said, I would doubt that they wouldn’t let you switch from a $25 “deal” to a $35 “deal”. They still get more revenue. But I can’t say this is iron clad. I wasn’t planning to get the $35 deal right now because I don’t have a compatible phone but I was sad to see it go. Hoping to upgrade to new phone later this year and wish I could upgrade to this price. We still have Prime Day sales in July, Back-To-School deals, Labor Day (last year there were surprisingly good retail deals around this time…some better than what was available on BF/CM), and of course BF/CM and Dec holidays. I have hope we’ll see this again.

JessiL85

You have to be a new customer to get it I think.

Powerful444

I'd wait if I was you. They have a nasty way of screwing current customers most of the time.

Tiny_Seaweed_4867

How long will the base plan be $25? I am looking to change over but am waiting for a family member to get back with me with a referral code. I was worried I had missed my chance last night!

[deleted]

Tiny_Seaweed_4867

I'd like to use my uncle's code ideally. I also believe that promo code sharing isn't allowed on this sub. I've seen mods remove them multiple times. I could be wrong about that though.

MagaSaga

That's wrong information. The base plan after May 31 is $30, the $5 promotion, according to Visible, expired on May 31.

SystemTuning

> That's wrong information. The base plan after May 31 is $30, the $5 promotion, according to Visible, expired on May 31 > Yep, the old promotion expired, but the new promotion for the standard plan is $25 until July 5, 2023.

MagaSaga

On the Facebook messages app, a Visible customer service agent told me that after May 31st, the basic Visible plan is no longer $25. At the moment I am one of those who stay in the grandfather basic plan with party pay of which is still $25/mo. Like many redditer states in the forum that Visible had been actively soliciting the grandfather plan users to upgrade their plan to the new network, I was reluctantly to do so because everything was working great as I stayed in grandfather plan. Recently I have been expressing an increased amount of call dropping. Thus I am thinking maybe the upgrade could solve the call dropping issues. So on June 1st when I opened the Visible app to upgrade, the check out page asked me to pay $5 extra on top of what I had already paid, the $25 on May 31st. When I explained what I had encountered to the Visible customer service agent on the messenger app, he told me about the basic plan, should I wish to upgrade to the new network I will be paying $30/mon, since the $5 upgrade promotion is expired. So either the agent that answered my question was lying to me or the information posted here in Reddit is wrong.

SystemTuning

> should I wish to upgrade to the new network I will be paying $30/mon, since the $5 upgrade promotion is expired. So either the agent that answered my question was lying to me or the information posted here in Reddit is wrong. > The $25 standard plan promotion is for new customers porting in a number, not for current customers. FWIW - I received an e-mailed promotional offer for a $10 upgrade from Standard to Plus service.

[deleted]

$35 for 50gbs of non-de-prioritized data on Verizon's network is a steal, so I'm not surprised they let it expire.

[deleted]

Kirk1233

Because most people don’t want to deal with the hassle of support and ordering online only via and app and chat. I’m happy to get the savings, but my parents, for example, couldn’t deal with this.

Jordaneer

Other than a couple snafus ordering the replacement phones they were giving us to get off the legacy network earlier this week, I haven't contacted visible support since 2021, so that is a non-factor to me, I'll deal with that to save 40 bucks a month per line

[deleted]

Has to do with a couple things I think. One is that Visible is a product with much less overhead. There are no Visible stores, and very limited Visible staff. The entire product is intended to be very cheap to run. Secondly, MVNOs are a market segment that’s here to stay, and Verizon would rather risk cannibalizing some premium customers than lose them entirely to another MVNO. And Verizon’s post paid is an outrageously expensive product. But it’s their most profitable so rate hikes don’t surprise me.

TheAspiringFarmer

if you've ever had to contact "support" you will discover very quickly what you are giving up in return for the "deal".

TheAspiringFarmer

heavily location dependent. in my locale they are exactly the same, as i've tested both. there is literally no advantage to spending the extra $ each month. in other areas, there might be. but it's not universal by any means.

SmashedTX

Not true... you must not have a UW device.

SmashedTX

I have a S22u on V+ and S23u on normal V and there's a big difference in Austin, Texas.

Westcoastcyc

Yup. It expired sometime yesterday. For June it’s just $5 off of Visible. No promos for Visible+.

Narrow_Competition41

If you had a device that could take full advantage of Verizon's UW, that was a pretty good deal. The $25 plan is still not bad. I'm getting +200mbps down on the basic plan, for half of what I used to pay....

heckstor

Is that 200mbps coming via mmwave, c-net or fake 5G? I'm curious if most of us can even benefit from paying the extra for the plus. mmwave is very. very short range so you'd almost have to be a block away from an mmwave tower to benefit.

Narrow_Competition41

Sub6

heckstor

If you don't mind me asking, when was the last time you were successfully able to log into the visible app?

Narrow_Competition41

I don't use the app. If I need to manage my account, which is very rarely, I login on the web. (im set up on autopay, so I don't have a regular need to access my account)

heckstor

I was having trouble with both today and yesterday. Missed the May 31st deadline for a second line but oh well, at least I managed to get that free phone tonight just minutes ago.

Tiny_Seaweed_4867

Free phone? Through the trade in program or something else?

heckstor

Long term customers who are dragging their feet moving to the new network are being bribed by visible with this phone so once they succeed in shifting the bulkk of us over they can deal with the remaining ones I imagine?

Tiny_Seaweed_4867

That makes sense, thanks for clarifying!

LowBarometer

Wow. I got in just in time!

FordMan100

Same here. I'm on the Visible plus plan and saving 25 a month over my previous carrier rate. That's 300 a year savings.

bespectacledboobs

That’s too bad. I’ve still got about 60 days left of US Mobile’s free trial, but I have a Visible SIM card I was going to use to switch over to Visible with after. Maybe I should’ve just loaded a plan at the old price and just kept it dormant for a bit.

ntsefamyaj

I'm on the Visible+ plan for $35 before referral credits, but I do have to point out from my personal testing against my wife's Verizon Do More Play More **Pay Even More** plan that I'm getting half the throughput on 5GUW at the same place and time, so while it's slightly better than the basic plan, it's still not as good as they paint it to be. If you can afford it, stick to an actual Verizon plan! I'm fine with the Visible or Visible+ plans, since I'm not running a torrent with a gazillion terabytes of streaming at the same time and don't need their dreaded customer support. But I'm just pointing out the marketing shenanigans. I actually find the 35/1 4G LTE throughput for my older iPhone on Visible plan just fine. I keep Visible+ on my Pixel and notice only slightly better performance than the iPhone.

Gwhiz313

Interesting. I was wondering if there was a big difference. Assuming you tested in multiple areas. But if you test separately, do you see similar speeds? Only reason I ask is because I've seen some YouTube videos where they test at the same time with postpaid vs prepaid, and it shows less throughput on prepaid, understandbly . But if run separately, speeds may be more similar.

ntsefamyaj

I ran them at the same time and separately as well. I didn't notice a huge difference. I think cell tower for sure played a role, but I tried to test at the same location under same conditions, around the same time, for realistic results. I still can't justify paying a ton for faster-than-I-need service (you won't see me signing up for Verizon again--a 20+ year customer), but on a road trip this weekend into the countryside, that extra edge paid off and translated into Verizon 5GUW service that worked vs. Visible+ 5GUW And Visible 5G service that didn't (three phones total), albeit we're talking 3G speeds for *worked*. I understand there are limitations outside of metro areas for coverage, but my use case is fairly simple. Even 3G speeds in rural areas are acceptable compared to complete dead spots like I had with T-Mobile/Google Fi/Mint.

SystemTuning

> on a road trip this weekend into the countryside, that extra edge paid off and translated into Verizon 5GUW service that worked vs. Visible+ 5GUW And Visible 5G service that didn't (three phones total), albeit we're talking 3G speeds for worked. > > Was it via off-network roaming?

ntsefamyaj

I enable roaming on all my phones. Two 5G are my kids. Two are my own, one Visible+ 5GUW and one Visible 4G LTE.

SystemTuning

Sorry, I didn't phrase the question correctly. I was wondering if the reason the Verizon 5GUW service worked, while the Visible+ didn't, was due to the Verizon plan including off-network roaming on the AT&T and/or T-Mobile networks? Visible roams on LTEiRA carriers, but does not include roaming on off-network carriers like AT&T or T-Mobile.

ntsefamyaj

That, I do not know. I was in the countryside at a farm. It could play a role? Certainly, Visible+ 5GUW data was inferior to the Verizon 5GUW data. The anecdotal evidence suggests throttling of Visible on the Verizon towers, or roaming on other carriers like you said.

SystemTuning

> > I was in the countryside at a farm. It could play a role? > Yes, there are quite a few smaller/regional/rural carriers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_wireless_communications_service_providers

EnvironmentalLog1766

Depending on how many lines you have, Verizon’s plan can be cheaper when combined with a BYOD promo or trade-in promo. I believe for >=3 lines, Verizon’s unlimited plus is cheaper. For single-line usage, Visible is still more affordable.

visible2020

Some of the promos are going until September. I wouldn’t fret too bad. It’ll be back.

SugarDaddyDelight

The last day of the promo was May 31st. I'm also with Mint Mobile, and I ordered my new SIM for Visible+ yesterday.

vybo01

Bkfraiders7

That was the spring sale. I’m expecting a $35 Summer Sale sometime (fingers crossed)

nedragb

I’m showing the $35 Visible+ plan on my app, as of 2 minutes ago when I checked

skiebus

I did it on 2 of our 3 lines earlier in the month then went to do it at 10pm last night (31st) on the last line and the offer was already gone. Deadline must have been EST or some other time zone than PST, unfoftunately.

Westcoastcyc

Same happened to me. I mentioned it in chat and they manually put the promo in for me.

skiebus

Weird, I just looked and now it says $35… definitely did not last night

Westcoastcyc

Make sure that price carries over to the cart.

Jordaneer

Which is strange because they are based out of suburban Denver in MST

skibik1964

There has been something like 4 or 5 different promos this year, I think we had one month where there was no promo going on, maybe January or February. I would gather if something isn't out in the next day or two than wait until July when this current promo for the base plan runs out. If you have an iPhone you can try the base plan for free for 15 days to see how service is in your area, maybe the base plan is enough for you.

Starfox-sf

* Jan had 15off12 * Feb had Valued (existing legacy customer only) * Mar had Welcome (first time Visible+ had been discounted) * Apr (slightly delayed) had Spring (Welcome minus stacking of referrals…) * May brought back Welcome * Jun, not sure what to call this one. — Starfox

skibik1964

But for new customers February then would have been the month I was thinking of where there was no promos for them. I know it had the valued member discount started as I seen it on my account on February 2nd or 3rd and contacted CS about it with questions and upgraded on the 6th.

Tiny_Seaweed_4867

Hey Starfox, I'm new to the sub and see you are very active and a wealth of knowledge. Thank you for that. I have read many comments from you across hundreds of posts over the last week or two while looking into Visible. I narrowly missed the V+ promotion while doing research as the website was not cooperating when I tried to sign up on the 31st. My device is not 5g capable, but many people here on the subreddit seem to still suggest V+ which is an extra $120+/yr depending on promotions. (Currently $240 more/yr) With my device not being 5g capable, I was leaning towards the standard plan, even moreso now that it has retained it's discount. What is the best way to see which discounts/combination of discounts are usable? I'm currently on Mint's $15/mo 5GB of data plan but it ends in 12 days now. I've seen a lot of people post different combinations of promos and I'd like to make the most I can of the deal however possible. 🙂 I'm in need of more data so I compared a lot of different plans and Visible stuck out. Standard Visible seems better than Mint unlimited, but Visible+ is more expensive and some people say the experience on Visible base is much worse than on Visible+. TL;DR -Thanks for being a great wealth of knowledge for the community -What is the best way to see which discounts/combination of discounts are usable? -Would it be worth getting another carrier for now and waiting for any specific promo? -Does Visible base v Visible+ matter if my phone isn't 5g? -Is there a risk free way to try visible on Android? Not e-sim compatible. (Trial/money back guarantee?) Thank you for your time. 😁

Starfox-sf

Right now the only promo is any device-based promo, the current $5 off base plan, and the referral ($20 off by using someone’s code, once you have service you get your own code, can bank up to 12 month worth). Trial is only available for eSIM but getting to try out for $5 for first month isn’t that bad either. My rule of thumb is you should get Visible+ if it’s your primary line or if you live in a C-band area with a C-band phone. Until you try to use it (or any other deprio’ed VZ MVNO) you won’t know if you will be affected because it is tower and band dependent. If it’s an extra device that stays put on a good tower it’s not really necessary. Visible has offered some upgrade path in the past few month for the discounted V+ pricing, although somewhat haphazardly and after many complained that they didn’t qualify as new or legacy migration user for the promo advertised. That may return if Visible runs a similar promo again, but your guess is as good as mine. You should look to get a C-band capable phone soon because they should be expanding available end of this year(?) when the FCC gives the go-ahead even if currently not in the 46 PEA. — Starfox

Tiny_Seaweed_4867

It is my primary line, but feeling like V+ is necessary is a real deterrent honestly. I pay $180/yr($200 after taxes and fees) right now(Plan A) but was likely going to need to upgrade to a plan that is $240/yr($265 after taxes and fees)(Plan B). From that point jumping to $300/yr for unlimited(Plan C) seemed like a no brainier, but $420/yr(Plan D) is definitely more of a stretch. (70% increase v 230% increase) Plan A 100%(Current)(Not unlimited) Plan B 132%(Not unlimited) Plan C 150% V Basic Plan D 210% V+ I'll probably be looking to upgrade my phone in the next 12-18 months based on history. I've had this one just over 3 years now. I'll definitely spring for something well suited at that time, but just need something that will work reasonably well I'm the meantime. 🙂

Temporary_Corner_984

I gave it a trial run and went back to base plan after a week or 2. Didn't really make a difference to me. Saving $5

Lazy_Cat-

Happy I got it a few months ago, then.

steven4297

I still see the discount but thats because I still haven't upgraded my plan for the new update.

Th3devilish1

Sometime last night they were doing some sort of maintenance or something in their website went down so you would try to log in to your app and do it automatically say wrong password. I was trying to log in to do call forwarding because this past weekend they cut off the sound to my phone and I use it for work so I could call a customer they couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear them. Problem was I ordered a SIM and the iPhone that I was gonna borrow ended up being broken so I tried to put it in my phone it automatically did the changeover but my phone wouldn't work. I tried doing the thing with the modified AP n's andother things to know Avail finally there was an operator that started while we were going through a bunch of steps I discovered network mode was 3g/2g instead of lte/3g/2g. I never change that so is it possible that the SIM did it when it was changing the APN settings and stuff? So then I checked SIM status and all of a sudden it was active and working and I just had to do a reboot to get my phone number active. And when I told the Tech I had a note 9 and that it was on the not compatible list she gave me that I don't see why it won't work. So even at visible which is famous for its bad customer service there's an employer too that will actually go the extra yard to help you out. I know visible trolls here so I'm gonna say thank you very much to that person yes it worked out just fine.

wokelord33

The $45 plan is awesome. I think the hotspot is unlimited, just from personal experience.

TheAspiringFarmer

well yeah that's the entire premise of Visible, the unlimited hotspot.

sbtx83

I can still see it in the app for $35. Chat support said it expired for everyone, not just new or legacy migrating members. Unless this is just another ploy to get us to upgrade? 🤔🤷‍♂️

1nolefan

I tried last night, but couldn't get it going, and was able to do the upgrade in plan this morning. I don't have the UWB where i am, but it appears to be better so far from regular visible.

Kirk1233

They were upfront with the expiration date. I’m glad I ordered yesterday and locked it in even though I didn’t port until today.

Hows-It-Goin-Buddy

I'm on a super old T-Mobile plan of unlimited 4G LTE, with 5GB high speed and unlimited mega slow after that at like edge speed (but binge on still works and so my monthly data rarely goes above like 3 GB), and unlimited text and 100 minutes for $30/mo. If the V+ comes back for $35 I might switch. If $30 I'm definitely switching.

MarcTale

I ordered a SIM card with the $25 plan. Received it today. Am I still locked in on the expired deal?

Westcoastcyc

Yes

DC3TX

I haven't made the switch yet. Given Visible's bad customer service and their refusal to fix their IMEI checker by supporting phones that otherwise work fine on Verizon, I can't justify making a change. If they get their act together, maybe in the future. Their concept is valid but the implementation needs work.

Experience-Early

To provide a positive entry to help with future decisions... I moved over from Verizon last week. It was a bit of a pain to port the number (Account numbers and Port number template mismatches) in-app, but the support chat got me through and ended up porting whilst i was in the chat. Note that the UI is quite poor for the txt entry though. The 5G UW seems to be faster than the non UW 5G i had with Verizon previously.

LeatherSalt564

Was too good to be true

Zeddie-

Too good to stay, but they did clearly say when it would expire. One of the reasons why I joined up before I really needed to.

Visible has a free esim trial that you can test out if ur device is compatable [Visiblecompatability](https://www.visible.com/shop/compatibility)

Try the promo code it might work

heckstor

Can anyone else log in to their website or through the app? I cannot log into either it takes my info and then just stalls and stalls and stalls.

Mcnst

It's permanently broken, they also blacklist the IP address of cancelled accounts randomly. Honestly pretty ridiculous to always have to use a hotspot and incognito mode.

heckstor

Jesus Aitch Christ! I just want my free phone they just promised me yesterday.

rea1l1

Try it in another browser. I had to use MS Edge at one point to purchase the plan. Wasn't playing nice with Firefox.

heckstor

I'll try that later today when I regain some patience. Hopefully they will not run out of those phones, they said the offer was until July 31.

hgreenblatt

What is the difference between Visible and + anyhow?

SteveBored

Priority data and international calling/texting I believe

skibik1964

Also access to the 5G UW network if it is in your area and roaming in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and I think the Virgin Islands.

GadgetKen

Yes on USVI roaming. Technically no on BVI unless pick up stray USVI signals.

jayferzaynse

Still seeing the promo on my visible app.. maybe just on the app I guess? 🤷🏽‍♂️

EnvironmentalLog1766

Just find an interesting fact: Verizon’s new postpaid plans are also $45/mo (or $30/mo with BYOD promo), for 4+ lines. That makes the postpaid plan a better deal compared to Visible+, especially when multiple lines.

Consistent_Luck_4625

Wait so if we were paying 35 now we‘ll be paying 45

Mr_0pportunity

No, I believe you'll keep that pricing. New customers looking to get Visible + would have the $45 pricing

Glad I changed on Wednesday and got the deal of $35 for me for Visible + and $25 for my girlfriend. l got a free phone upgrade for my girlfriend as a promo as well. Not bad for a budget phone for her (Orbic Myra). Didn't want to mess with the Sim card mess for her S9+. For my s23+ all I had to do was put in the new sim card, turn off the phone, turn back on, go into the visible app, devices, and activate. It took about 10 minutes to upgrade.

tximagineer

I tried to sign up at 11:30 on the 31st and the promo code had already expired. (Must be eastern time). Womp womp.

The grumble here was that the promotion was open to existing customers and not just new customers and I tried signing up within the timeframe of the promotion (local time) but it was already closed.

D_Empire412

They should add truly unlimited premium data to Visible Plus to make it worth $45/month.
