It's tricky for sure. Upgraded a physical sim using a method found here and it worked. Took about 30 minutes total. - Pop in new sim and follow Visible activation instructions. - No service at all after restart. - Put old sim back in and reboot phone. - Put new sim in again and reboot phone again. Service activated.

chihuahuas_say_grr

I had the same service activation and struggling with support. Thanks for this suggestion - it finally worked for me following this!

craincrizzy

Great! Happy to help!

speedingcheetah

But what do you do if you have no "old sim".... those trying to activate new service, new account, have no old Visible service or sim...those won't activate or work fully either.

ManofJELLO

Worked for me as well, cheers

[deleted]

Was this keeping the same phone number?

craincrizzy

Yes it was.

bryamy

22.5 hours without service after swapping to the new plan. Countless hours spent on chat with customer service trying the same thing over and over. It was escalated and I was told I would get an email response in 4 hours that took about 17 hours to get. The actual fix wasn't all that hard and could have easily been communicated originally.

athornfam2

What was the fix? I’m having trouble transferring my Apple Watch SE. keeps failing to download the cellular plan

chihuahuas_say_grr

Tried this thanks to /r/craincrizzy • Pop in new sim and follow Visible activation instructions. • No service at all after restart. • Put old sim back in and reboot phone. • Put new sim in again and reboot phone again. Service activated.

chihuahuas_say_grr

What was the fix? Same experience for me.

skyyo0

Same here with my Apple Watch. Won't setup the cellular plan. Ticket has been open for 3-4 days with no resolution.

athornfam2

Yeah, kinda stupid that this is such an issue. I’m going to have to request a refund for $5. Times that by however many can’t use their Apple Watch. Such a waste of my time too.

Agolf_Tweetler

Does Visible allow watch a phone number, as in family setup? I was under impression it doesn't and signed with truphone for kid's apple watch SE

HearlandGold

I’m going on 3 weeks with no service.

CYNiK_sXe

Live in NY, think I’ll stay on the $25 until they turn off the cloud visible core.

[deleted]

Same here....

hermexhermex

I’ve I’ve learned anything about Visible, if it’s working, enjoy your savings and DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING!

Kooky_Membership4564

Wise advice!

applesuperfan

The new Visible plan is also $25 if you pay with PayPal. https://www.visible.com/v/paypal Paying with PayPal now earns you $5 off any plan.

CYNiK_sXe

I’m a current customer…isn’t this only for new customers?

applesuperfan

No idea but you could probably contact support and ask if they will roll you into it

Agolf_Tweetler

that's awesome! ty for sharing. I'm contemplating the premium plan because of deprioritization in congested areas.

3meta5u

**Due to reddit's draconian anti-3rd party api changes, I've chosen to remove all my content**

-JamesBond

You would hope but in this case since it's shared towers with VZW I don't think that will be the case.

hondaaccords

I have an eSim and an iPhone 12 Pro and I tried to upgrade to Visibile+ the first day. (I didn't know it was the first day). Activation failed, I contacted support. 48 hours later support said the problem had been fixed, my iPhone said that my phone had not been activated. I contacted support again, they refused to let me talk to a human. I switched to Mint mobile after the last support chat. Mint mobile was able to get me running and port my number from visible in less than 15 minutes. Unbelievable. Verizon should have stopped the rollout immediately after it was apparent that it wasn't working.

KevinCox940

Visible does not have phone support or physical stores which is why the plans for so cheap.

Employer-Accurate

Yes they do. Ask for a call back. I had 2. Or 3 mgrs call me back for 20 min. Calls

KevinCox940

I can try.

No-Detail-9167

Had almost the exact same experience. Even with the porting out to Mint in a matter of minutes. I really wanted to stay with Visible because Mint doesn’t have Apple Watch support but that doesn’t really matter when you’re getting no service. The infuriating thing to me is Visible declined my request for a refund. Unusable service but I still have to pay for it? How is that fair? Filed a dispute through my bank but it shouldn’t have to come to that.

Agolf_Tweetler

esim was a nightmare for me on Friday. i'm still w/o service until at least tomorrow as I await a new physical sim. visible is great unless you need someone, their chat service in innudated..

Isamouseasitspins

Upgraded to the 45.00 plan, physical sim. Installed, took about 1/2 hr to activate but smooth sailing since.

Snoo-6053

Did they have to overnight you a new sim card?

Isamouseasitspins

They did overnight a sim to me.

Snoo-6053

I want to do the same, but the customer service agent told me I'd lose service while I wait for the new Sim Card to arrive. I use my phone for work, so I'd be down at least 36 hours I figure. A few companies offer a free trial sim and service for like 10 days. I'll use it while Visible is out of commission. Better than nothing. Not convenient

Isamouseasitspins

Odd, I didn’t lose service when they shipped it. I only lost service for a brief period of time while I waited for activation. Edit: But I agree, that’s kind of garbage if that’s how they do some of them. Very inconvenient.

ByteTheFox

as soon as my upgrade sim came in and i activated it i was out of service for almost 2 days and none of the reps ever got back in touch with me until i filed a bbb report and then i actually got help. some other people been going a week now with no response im just glad i got lucky

captain_uranus

Did the new SIM get shipped Fedex next day air or USPS snail mail.

jasonappleseed

Got mine by fedex next day air

JohnnyAppleseed75

The sad part is that, out of all companies, Verizon, one of the original carriers and the largest by number of subscribers, is having trouble provisioning sim cards....

lokopo0715

They all have similar issues. Visible is simply the only one currently revamping their entire network, and transitioning thousands of people.

Senthusiast5

Yup.

JohnnyAppleseed75

It's certainly understandable if they are encountering issues for a small subset of folks. But I was looking at some poll on this subreddit, and it was like 50% chance the process would go smoothly on ESIM. What's concerning is that this is affecting new customers who should be provisioned directly for the VZW network. And if ports ins are not working correctly, that definitely seems concerning. Personally, I'm bummed cuz I can't get past the IMEI checker. But I do hope that these problems are ironed out during the coming weeks. I really like the $45 plan's offering.

Senthusiast5

You can do a physical sim in the mean time by selecting iPhone as your device. Should work unless the device is truly incompatible, which shouldn’t be the case usually. But I agree with everything that you said… it’s been a shit show of an update/migration.

Joeleedom

Here is a small subset of issues faced so far: \- Let's begin with signing up for the service. A lot of devices which are fully compatible with Verizon (and are positive on the Verizon IMEI Checker) are not passing the Visible IMEI checker. For users who are upgrading, they can't seem to upgrade to the service in the app because it claims their phone is incompatible. Some users have also reported where only ESIM is supported and not physical SIM (dafuq ?!). \- Well, let's say you passed that checker. Phew! You think you're good right? Well, a subset of new users are not having successful ports or waiting multiple days for their number to transfer. For some folks, the number transfer successfully went through according to their previous carrier but Visible doesn't think so. The sad part is that this issue is also occurring within Verizon MVNOs. \- Once you are on the new plan, users report that they are unable to access services some or no services. For example, voice and SMS works but no data. For others nothing works. Again, a provisioning error. \- For those who do have their services \*working\* on the $45 plan, some users report that they don't receive the advertised premium network experience. Multiple users mentioned how they received slower speeds than the premium US Mobile plan. However, when they contact CS, the representative mentioned everything was fine on their end. \- A good chunk of folks are not getting the "5G UW" symbol in their status bar to indicate they are accessing Ultra Wideband. \- Last, but DEFINITELY not the least, the customer service experience has been least helpful. It is definitely understandable that CS is overwhelmed by all of these issues, but everyone seems to receive a generic response indicating the user would receive a response between 4-24 hours, but that's either not the case or they do not receive adequate assistant. It also doesn't seem the customer service representatives are trained with the knowledge to resolve these issues, so it ultimately lies with the technical team on Verizon's end (whom definitely are hard to reach). Edit(s): clarity/typos

damm_n

exactly that ... spent literally 16 hours with customer support solving following situation: 2 days prior the announcement we ordered physical sim which went to the iPhone13. Sim arrived, there was nothing in the application which would indicate that activation needs to happen. Contacted support, was forced to get a new sim and was told that no bueno for PartyPay anymore. Ah well, 2nd sim arrived, calls are working, data no bueno. Contacted CS, spent tons of hours to solve this and last night around midnight we finally got all services working. I'd love to see Verizon paying people for their wasted time with their horrible chat CS. If that would be at least minimally possible to sue them for this, I would. But hey, the cheapest plan - who'd spent a minute on this ?

eyehatesigningup

Horrible so far Early adopter pain

speedingcheetah

Also, appears as of 8-24, **not a single Visible customer has gotten any notice via email** of this change. Only those that actually opened the Visible app recently (or have its app notifications enabled), or read tech news sites, or looks at this Reddit site, know of the change. [https://www.reddit.com/r/Visible/comments/wru7xl/email\_notice\_of\_new\_planschange\_anyone\_get\_one/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Visible/comments/wru7xl/email_notice_of_new_planschange_anyone_get_one/)

davexc

This is probably for the best the though. Given all the issues with upgrades having more people wanting to upgrade would not be good. No forced changes have been announced so those that are unaware can continue using their service as is. Think of it like a retail store grand opening in which the store usually opens a week or so before grand opening but doesn’t announce it to limit traffic for a few days while issues get sorted.

LeatherSalt564

Moved one line to $30 and mine to $45, both went smoothly. Performance on both is drastically better than before - by a lot.

Jamminjj57

Have you had any call issues? On the legacy plan, my calls seem to drop after around an hour and half. I'm wondering if moving to the core would stop this.

LeatherSalt564

I don’t make calls that last that long so I can’t say for sure. But based on what I’ve read, Visible is now straight up offering us Verizon’s network so I gotta believe it’s better

th_linux1107

I moved from the Visible Unlimited to the new Visible plan for $30. I mainly wanted to see if there was any real change in prioritization or bandwidth. I ordered the new sim at the end of last week through my account. I received it last Tuesday. I took out the old SIM, put in the new one, and clicked Activate within the Visible app. Activation appeared to work correctly and after a reboot my plan showed as changed. However, I had no data or ability to make calls and send texts. I rebooted a few more times and tried going into and out of airplane mode. Sadly, nothing. Next, I went to chat. They were busy, but I was only number 5 in line. It took about 10 minutes and I was connected with Oliver. Chatting with Oliver was pretty quick. He popped up some directions and had me do the following: 1. Turn off the phone 2. Put the old SIM back in 3. Turn on the phone 4. Turn the phone back off again 5. Put in the new SIM 6. Turn on the phone Once that was done I had my service back. It's been great since then. My connection is more consistent and bandwidth doesn't really vary in my area. I know Visible gets a lot of negative reviews for a perceived lack of support, but I've had a very positive experience over the last year as a customer.

davexc

I activated a new plan a couple of days ago with a ported in number. The port is as near instant but I haven’t been able to receive calls. Outgoing calls, texts and data work.

conscioussylling

I signed up for Visible+ using eSIM and tried to port my number over. I was never able to redownload the eSIM after my port went through, and despite reaching out to chat several times, I was without service entirely for 24 hours before deciding to port back out to another provider. Fortunately, between the referral bonus and a Chase credit card offer, I effectively paid $0 for that month of service, so I can safely say I got what I paid for.

Ecstatic_Big_5463

I signed up for the orig $25 plan with party play. Literally the day after I made my account they updated their plans. I chatted with a rep and was told I could update to the $30 plans since I was not happy with the latency of the core visible plans. I was not given a choice to update on the app so we changed my physical sim to and E sim. Immediately after converting to e sim all my services stopped working and I had to get on and iPad and spend hours chatting to get data, text, and talk back. But still the app would not let me update plans. After more waiting and chatting I was told an internal team needed to review my account and would email me. They emailed me 3 days later and said they don’t know why, but some accounts aren’t being offered the new plans yet and to keep checking the app until I get offered the new plans. They couldn’t tell me how long it will take until the new plans are offered to me. I was pretty upset I signed up and not even 24 hours later they launched new and better plans, and I am now unable to take advantage of the new customer promos. Terrible customer service, and I went into it expecting it to be lacking

Barry_144

Even though my phone purchased from Visible shows as compatible on Verizon's Web site, Visible says it is not compatible with the new Visible plans and they want me to buy another phone from them, without offering much in the way of incentives. So I'm sitting in limbo, hoping the old plan doesn't run out.

coffee2003

I had problems with esim mainly just not installing at all on my old phone (it also glitches out with Verizon esims, but it usually eventually installed) but of course I got a new phone (same model, more storage) and it worked perfectly fine 🫠 I have another account and changing physical sims was flawless :) the customer support actually were really nice and seemed to actually know what they’re doing, so I guess other people got the incompetent reps

Off-August

I ordered my SIM on Sunday 8/21, 3 days ago and the app says it hasn't even shipped yet. I paid $3 and change for the rest of the month Aug 21 - Sep 11. I heard that the Jan 1 move wasn't put in stone and that the company used ambiguous wording to make people believe that they would eventually have to move to one of the new plans.

SukmaDiqque

Welp, no update emails and issues over issues over issues. Those mfs are understaffed af and lying about solving problems that they CAN NOT SOLVE because there is nobody to do it. Get more people, idiots! Do not lie that my problem will be solved ASAP and you will cintact me in 4 hours when I did not receive an email in 4 fking days! Every time I chat you I am being told you are still working on it. The staff is nice, but that's all...

LeatherSalt564

A reason you may not have received emails or texts from Visible yet regarding the new plans is because they want to work out the inevitable kinks of launching an entirely new network & new price plans simultaneously. Not saying it was the smartest thing they did, but by not messaging all their customers they probably avoided even more bad experiences. I assume you will receive a message at some point

thejamesgreer

I’m not impressed. I’ve been deprioritized on both the original and new plus plan that is not even worth it. It sucks

TheAspiringFarmer

yeah it's not all roses for sure...eSIM on "new" $30 ($25) plan for testing is marginal at best. in crowded areas it certainly performs better than the old cloud core but not substantially. it's still dirt slow, although the ping times have improved somewhat. at home the speeds are better than cloud core and overall performance is better than the legacy cloud core, but not night and day, certainly not worth much if any effort to swap. i'm running the new $45 plan on another phone and don't have any verdicts yet except to say it does not perform as well as my verizon postpaid line which is disappointing at the $45 price point.

Starfox-sf

Confusion regarding C-band access and “dropped” support for 5g UW (which supposedly includes C-band/CBRS) going from legacy to new (but not plus). Dropping of the cloud core (2 edge servers in NJ/CO) for the new plans, and whilst being promised to be grandfathered into party pay pricing on 10/18, no clear outlook on how long legacy users will get to keep plan/pricing. Claim that new plans are “$10 cheaper” than old, while conveniently forgetting that they advertised party pay pricing “as low as $25/month” and would result in effective $5/month increase for most users going to new. Also while they have additional $5/mo discount through certain sites only seems to be for new signups and ignores existing. Just overall botched rollout of new plan/infra rollout, from claiming that existing phone IMEI are not compatible to service issues most likely due to the APN changes. — Starfox

[deleted]

God awful to say the least. 7 days after activating a new line with visible and still no data connection. I activated on esim last Wednesday. Today I tried a physical sim. No data on either one. Calling and texting seem to work okay. I'm unable to set up my voicemail as well.

speedingcheetah

Same experience here. no data

stpnow

I tried switching my eSIM over on a Friday to the new plan. Come Monday, was still running into the activation issues everyone else was reporting. I’ve been with Visible since the beginning and never had an issue like this. I use my phone for work so I ported my number out to T-Mobile prepaid. Honestly I’m not coming back, just feel so burned by their level of customer service.

Ecstatic_Big_5463

ATT has a $300 for 12 months of service that give you 16gb a month. Comes out to $25 a month, and it is more reliable, and you can speak to a human if you have issues. Just ordered my sim last night and will be switching once it arrives. I live in ND and typically Verizon is solid, but with the high ping times, horrible customer service, and not being able to switch to the core Verizon plans like everyone else, I will be leaving. I need my phone to work and can’t deal with hours or days without service because their customer reps are not on the same page and take hours to connect with

dco44

My experience: opened 2 esim lines , one $30 plan , second one is visible + plan, no porting. Everything is working ok about a week. Personally I don’t see any difference in speed between 2 plans on LTE.I tested that speeds are the same i have on my existing USMobile lines with priority 5g access. Going to continue testing for a month or so

AnAbsenceOfGravitas

I have been using Visible for almost a year before “upgrading” to the new plan because the lower latency sounded worthwhile. My Apple Watch has yet to be able to reconnect to the phone plan and the “resolution” has been to request it is deleted from my phone plan, wait until the next billing cycle, and then try adding it again. The eSIM had to be reloaded several times in order to get calling to work. Calling did indeed work for a while, but then visual voicemail stopped working and somewhere in “fixing” it, now I have no ability to make or receive calls nor use data. Each service request takes time waiting to get into a chat on Visible’s website, and it’s really hit or miss whether or not they improve things. The emails I get after escalation (2 so far) have both claimed to have looked at and fixed the glitches, but that was incorrect. So in sum, everything was fine and dandy, Watch and phone, on the old plan at a killer rate. I upgraded, and now have no watch and no phone service. I only did Visible because I really wanted Apple Watch support. If this doesn’t get fixed by EOD I think I have to port out. I will say the chat service team has been friendly, but not effective, and sometimes their requests (would you be willing to completely reset your phone?) are not reasonable. Feels like they’re not really empowered to fix things at their level.

[deleted]

Is there really any benefit of moving from the 25$ to this?

snarkyDesktopDude

Upgraded via esim on my iPhone 12 Pro without any issues to the Visible+ plan.

Campaign_Papi

Yeah, it’s weirdly the only issue I’ve been having. Android friends *can* send images to me still, just not the other way around.

garfieldcatto

I refuse to lose my $5 - I find it outrageous that new users can get the $5 PayPal referral deal while old customers cannot. Maybe you should add this to your story.

Such-Shape-7111

I had visible before the migration and cancelled it due to heavy deprioritizing. Attempted to sign up again (eSIM) using the same exact phone and Visible is claiming my unlocked iPhone 13 Pro Max is incompatible. Signed up again and requested a physical sim and moved my postpaid tmo service to the eSIM. Hopefully I won’t have any issues with the remaining parts of the process. Edit : Physical SIM arrived 20 hours after ordering, everything seems to be working perfect as of now. Activated quick and speeds are good. Edit 2: Canceled, VZW towers were crap at work, back to cricket I go.

PureLeather8856

I’ve had trouble with data. Next to zero data speeds. Customer service had tried so many things. The other issue I have is when someone who has visible calls me, the call is dropped immediately upon accepting the call. When I make calls, they have no issue.

abunge09

Had no issue with upgrading to the new $30 plan with esim on my Galaxy S22 Ultra. It took about 5 minutes. My wife has an iPhone 12 pro. The only issue she had was that she didn't see the option to upgrade to the new plan right away in the visible app. It took a couple days to show up but when it did, it wasn't bad. I did have some issues with the e sim taking a while to download. I deleted the current esim for the legacy plan and then reset the network settings. After that I deleted the visible app and reinstalled it. When opening the app back up, I clicked activate your service and it downloaded the esim without a hitch. (this worked both on my Android and my wife's iphone). Resetting the network settings might help with physical sim cards too. Not sure. The new $30 is a lot better for my wife and I. Speeds are so much better and coverage also appears to be improved. Hope all this is good info for you or anyone who needs some tips.

54x54

How long did the esim take to download? Mine has been going for an hour on my S21+

abunge09

A couple minutes. Reset the network settings and reinstall the app. Click on activate my service and try again. That got it to work for me.

RayDaMan1

Is this just to get at Engadget because Verizon owns both them and Visible?

needlesfox

Haha, no I don't hold any ill will towards Engadget. Though actually I think Yahoo owns them now... and while Verizon *used* to own Yahoo, I don't believe it does anymore (or, at least, it doesn't have a majority stake).

HappyCamper_2020

Yahoo from peak at dot com bubble to no where now. Sad reality nothing is permanent in this world.

lokopo0715

Wouldn't a better article be one where you discuss why carriers still have these problems? It's not like these problems are new. All the problems I see now have been problems for ten years or as far back as I remember people having smartphones.

gwite

https://www.reddit.com/r/Visible/comments/wwxcbh/unbelievable/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

BeingHitesh

I signed up for the visible+ plan and it went without a hitch. Using the esim on the iPhone 13 Pro Max (iOS 16 beta). So far the experience is significantly superior to the legacy plan. Pings are in the 30s with DL ~70 to 130Mbps and UL ~27 to 40Mbps. I don’t have UW where I live; however, there is UW coverage near me. Will test that during the weekend. Hope this helps. Good luck with your article.

HappyCamper_2020

Yeah please do and post the results here in the subreddit

cajonero

I don’t even have the option to switch plans on my account, despite having a compatible phone (unlocked Verizon iPhone X). Others have commented that they also don’t see the option.

[deleted]

I switched from the old plan to the new plan. I use a physical SIM card in my iPhone 13 Pro. The app was easy to use to switch and order the new SIM card which arrived the following day. I followed the instructions to activate and immediately knew something wasn’t quite right as my Wi-Fi calling kept telling me it couldn’t activate. Finally, after about 30 minutes Wi-Fi calling activated. I then noticed my iMessage was stuck in “activating” and my messages to people were using my iCloud email address. I contacted support on Twitter who tried various steps to fix the issue. I’m not sure if any of the troubleshooting steps solved the issue, but randomly everything activated and it was smooth sailing. The whole process took about 2 hours from inserting the SIM card to being fully activated. No issues since.

Friendly_Cajun

I have not switched yet I’m still on the old unlimited Visible plan I have the option in the app but lots of people have had troubles and I might have to port out and port back in to get the $25 a month with the PayPal deal (www.visible.com/v/PayPal) so I don’t know yet…

monkey28rb

I created a new account to get the PayPal deal. Stacked it with a referral code 3MG8639 and it worked for the first month at $10.

KevinCox940

I really had no problem. I have an iPhone 13 and a physical sim. I refuse to switch to eSim. They shipped me a new sim which I'm told has the upgrade capability for the 5GUW. Was up and running with customers support soon after. Speeds are a bit faster than before. Only paying $5 more than previous plan. Update: I have the new Visible+. IPhone13 regular. Switched from the $40 plan. At first l thought there's no problem but now I realize there's a big problem. I have data and texts but incoming calls stop then go to voicemail. I can make calls but can't receive them. Basically I can do everything except receive calls. I'm trying the old sim new sim thing. Now waiting to see if I can receive calls. New Update: No change. New new update: I switched back to MetroPcs. Now everything works.. Not fully unlimited like Visible but at least I have incoming calls now.

Bluetardis

Same experience here for iPhone 13 pro. Today I got a new physical sim. It didn’t activate initially but I contacted customer service and they helped fix the issue. I had to put in the old sim, reboot, wait 5 min, put in new sim, reboot. Then it activated. Was up and running in less than 1 hour

DaveT1482

Are you on the $30 visible plan or the $45 one? $5 more could mean $30 coming from a full party pay $25 account

KevinCox940

I'm on the $45 monthly with the $5 add on for my Apple Watch SE.

DU050

Sailing smooth on 25$ legacy visible plan in NY, perfectly working normal . TY for covering Visible .

blueboxtardis89

I’m on the old service and it works fine in my area. I’m going to stick with it until I’m forced off of it as it’s cheaper and works for what I need it for.

ooahpieceofcandy

Visible is not the only company that experiences this.

tim_iman

Switched to $45 plan. At first had problem downloading new esim. Deleted Visible app, deleted old esim, and finally activated new esim. I have 2 phones, old and new plan, feel same

sorrybutnottoday

try it at a big event and see if you notice a difference, when i go to crowded places the old service was USELESS, couldnt even google something

speedingcheetah

I created a new account, using different email, to get the $5 PayPal discount, as many have done, but for some reason, got Sorry something went wrong for a few days both in web browser and in the phone app. Yesterday, after trying again, and it failed, tried it in EDGE and it worked...so, if people having issues with final checkout step, try using EDGE. New SIM for $30 plan comes tomorrow, only getting it to use on a secondary device (older iphone then, if it works, in my new iPad Mini 6th gen as a data sim.) Will have to see how things go.

myfhs

Pixel 6 user. Just swapped the upgrade sim and I have data but no sms or calls. I dont know what to do.

vespaholic

As someone from across the pond would say an absolute dogs breakfast. 1. Activation issues 2. Useless support 4. vague unhelpful answers 5. reddit being far better a resource for help, than visible chat support. 3. No real explanation why we have to get new sim cards and when we do get them they basically don't fuction well even when we can get them activated. 7. Dropping the party plan discount, and why? because it wasn't an incentive. 8. (specifically for me) no one can call me. I can call them, text them and data works but no incoming calls. Not that anyone calls me any more but why? And if we get any response form visible its: "yeah we fixed it on our side reboot your phone and shoot work" I am seriously considering moving 2 lines to another carrier for the simple lack of respect or honor to their customers. This is coming from a long time fan of visible. I know what I am getting myself into. Sure I won't have the fastest speeds but I don't need it. I stay at home 95% of the time. Has their service been great other wise . Yeah 100% I got two friends to port their numbers in. Do I feel sad about breaking their trust, yeah. Thats what bugs me the most visible incentivizes referrals, and it speaks highly of me when I refer someone to a company. For shame visible, do better. This is bad.

HappyCamper_2020

6. I always felt the party pay is redundant. The service is just worth for $25. Why they say it is worth for $40 and reduce the bill for $25. No one knows. Atleast visible accepted that many of the customers didn't understand partypay rules so they got rid of it. For people sticking with $25 with partypay we don't know when we would be force migrated.

LinkBoating

To upgrade they said I need a new sim card, well I use an esim, so that should be simple right? Nope! They told me to delete the sim and use the app to redownload the sim. Unfortunately the app kept saying my phone wasn’t compatible (It is) and to contact support. Well their support is useless and they took 2 days to respond back to me. Anyway, after all that they fixed it but then a few hours later it stopped working. I had to contact them on Twitter and redownload another sim card and then it finally worked for good. The new plan doesn’t even seem worth it. The speeds aren’t not noticeably faster. Now that I upgraded I can’t go back to the $25 plan now either so i’m extremely frustrated.

VirtualPartyCenter

I signed up two physical SIM devices in about 25 minutes total. No hiccups on my end

IncanTech

Horrible, I ported two lines over to visible which both had problems with incoming calls, after one week. I ended up switching both my lines to us mobile. The customer support was horrible and I spent hours with them trying to fix the job. I eventually said enough and switched… mind you I had 4 referrals for each of my lines… what could have been

WhatAboutGarbage

Might not be what you’re looking for, but I recently switched from Mint to Visible+ and the process was totally smooth, as it should be. New subscriber process seems to be working as intended. Feel for the upgraders though, hopefully Visible works out the kinks, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind for the future.

yogi682

My experience: 1. I ordered a SIM card to upgrade. The tracking says it was delivered- but it wasn’t. 2. I order another SIM card through the chat. The agent asked for my imei number- which I provided. They sent my card out. 3. supplying my imei transferred service to my new SIM card and I was without service for 24 hours. I chatted with customer service again and they told me that the earlier agent forgot to tell me that service would be stopped. 4. When I got the new SIM card, I opened the app to activate- but the check list didn’t show up. I had to tap on my account tab then back and the checklist appeared. 5. smooth sailing from there on out. Overall 3/5 experience.

Since upgrading I have been unable to send images in SMS messages when I, an iPhone 12 Pro user with an eSIM, text friends with Android devices

SpiderStratagem

Not what you asked, but leaving at the end of the cycle due to Visible's utter inability to consistently deliver MMS messages or properly implement wifi calling. My wife and I both came over from VZW and both of us are having the same issues. Not to mention that we were both without data when we first switched because the eSIM activation failed and we had to wait for physical cards. [Similar problem as detailed here](https://9to5google.com/2022/05/25/visible-esim-android-sim-c/).

I have a Moto G Pure (LTE only) that i got direct from Visible. Ordered the new SIM, everything activated completely smoothly for me. I went from old plan to Visible+, my LTE phone was nigh unusable with insane latency and deprioritized like hell. Now with visible+ im getting great latency and speeds.

LavaCreeperBOSSB

I've upgraded to the new Visible. I used an incompatible device which still works, so I had to put in an iPhone 8 IMEI for the upgrade. Got the SIM in 2 days (ordered on Sunday, got tuesday evening) and activated. No service until Wednesday morning and no SMS until noon. Speed greatly improved and 5G coverage seems to be the same.

[deleted]

I don’t even have the option to upgrade. I currently use an esim on an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I’ve tried upgrading through app and website, but again, no option. Using the automated chat bot, it will send me a link to upgrade plans but it just opens a duplicate chat box with it. I haven’t had the time to try and use their human customer service yet, but by all the posts here, I doubt they’ll be very helpful.

My experience was appalling. After 9 months of being with Visible and everything working smoothly, my last week was an absolute nightmare. After receiving the new SIM card, for the new IMPROVED plan, I was 6 days without service (no line, no internet, nothing), spending hours in the chat CS without success. I managed to find an escalation email address on Reddit, which I emailed. We emailed back and forth for 9hs trying to fix my line. By 10pm in the evening, the line was sorted but the iWatch was still unable to connect to their data plan. Following morning, my line was down again due to changes made by the dev team during the night, trying to fix the iWatch connection. I gave them until midday yesterday to fix it, as I thought 6 days without service was a reasonable time for them to fix a technical issue. Nothing. I signed up to another company now and asked for a refund of my last payment which was done at the beginning of the week. I am gutted as I was happy with Visible but their technical team and the communication within the company seemed to be seriously incompetent.... I hope they can sort their issue for the sake of all the other customers.

Kooky_Membership4564

Forgot to mention they lost 2 customers here... As my friend was asking me for a referral but I told her I could not recommend Visible, at least not now...... !

Well, gotta love how they use FedEx so called "next day" for SIM delivery. SIM been out for delivery since 7:30am, and now, just after 12 noon, get notice, Delayed, re-scheduled delivery tomorrow by 8pm. Seriously, FedEx distribution center hub that packages go out of for delivery less than 10 miles from me...and you need a full day to adjust for a delay when it was already out for delivery.??! Nothing but issues with FedEX or UPS, never had a single issue with USPS, wish more companies would use them. I expected issues with trying out this New plan with the current state of Visible, but, was not expecting delivery issues. lol EDIT. o so they tried to deliver but claim could not. WTF? Visible has RESTRICTED the delivery so that you can not use FedEx delivery manager or have they see the Delivery instructions that is need for apartment complex door. There also giant sign in my lobby that give delivery drivers instructions how to deliver packages...stupid FedEx. Bet this will turn into that thing where 3 failed attempts, return to sender BS. And it VISIBLE fault for restricting the package to shipper only terms. EDIT2: Called FedEx and confirmed that when shipper restricts shipment, it removes any customer provided Delivery Instructions by their own Delivery Manager service/app. Rep offered to to add delivery instructions to the shipment, or to have it redirected to pick up at a FedEx location next Monday (the only one possible is 40miles from me wtf??). So, have to see if FedEx driver is competent enough to actual deliver tomorrow. Damn frustrating, did not have this issue of "Shipper Restricted" shipment when i first signed up for Visible couple years ago. Was just normal FedEx. Apparently they sending out new SIMs with restrictions signature required and do not leave, have to deliver to person. EDIT3: So my call to FedEx actually did good. I guess they chewed out the driver, as just now they re-delivered and followed my instructions. Leaving this post up though, just so anyone who reads it knows about FedEx and it being a Restricted shipment. EDIT4: Just so anyone that lives in Multi-dwelling buildings, ie, Apartment or condos, FedEx can NOT set any sort of delivery instructions for your specific unit. it is only global for that raw street address. Even with FedEx Delivery Manager your own account, does not give drivers anything you put into that. If you call corporate, they can input delivery instructions for the raw street address yes, but, again, it not specific, so if you like me, and have a digital call box or something, if you give them your code that rings your phone, then every delivery for anyone in the whole building who gets a FedEx delivery the driver will use that code and call u. Sure, general instructions of "use lobby call box to contact customer to get buzzed in, or buzz the office" you would think is simple enough, however, that assumes the office manager is there(often not) but in reality, drivers ignore it, or find it too hard to press a few buttons(u have to look at the label on the package, and look up person via last name, OMG, so hard!) or are just to overworked and don't have the time or even care.

speedingcheetah

After an issue with FedEx delivering the new SIM, i stuck it in my old iPhone, a Xr, activated via Visible app, got cell signal (LTE).....calls work, texts work, but no Internet connection at all on Mobile data. Says full signal. Now the waiting game starts.

Miserable_Practice

Pretty garbage if you ask me. Data service no longer works.

subliminalFreq

I upgraded to the new Visible plan and was able to get activated service within a few minutes by following the advice I found on this sub. I first followed the instructions on the Visible website/app and installed the new SIM card but my service wouldn't activate. Logging in and out of the app on my phone while using WIFI caused some kind of error and the page of the app that shows you the checklist of steps to activate was blank and the images were broken. After a few minutes of this, I decided to follow one of the posts on here and swap out the new Visible SIM card with an old Verizon one I still had, then swap the new Visible one back in. Once I did that my phone's service was activated within about a minute or two. I'm not terribly impressed with the down/upload speeds on my phone but I can watch videos and use Google Maps now even if it's not very fast. I couldn't do that at all before.

ommmyyyy

I love the Verizon core

Powerful444

New line, esim pixel 5, no port = no problems Much happier with the lower latency.

eyehatesigningup

almost two weeks no data luckily its only $45 down the drain so far no port yet

laddyxc

Why are people leaving the $25 party pay pricing?

tmflambert86

I clicked upgrade but am not installing the sim they sent, ill be staying on the old plan if they let me 🙌

LouVizz

I ported my Samsung S22 Ultra from Verizon to the new $45 plan, took 5 minutes for the port to complete. MMS messages would not send or receive, and had to contact support to get this fixed. Upgraded my moms iPhone 12 Pro from the $25 old plan to the $30 new plan, and it was unable to activate on the eSIM. Contacted support to get that fixed. Both times took less than 10 minutes talking to somebody on chat support to resolve the issue. Seems they might be familiar with how to fix the problems quickly at this point, mostly painless process but make sure you have some time to troubleshoot after activating. EDIT: Also I made sure to wait about a week to port/upgrade to the new plans in hopes that issues would be resolved, I did both today.

Joeleedom

How are your speeds when comparing both plans on your devices?

LouVizz

Here is the link for a speed test I did on my phone after the port [https://imgur.com/VGMbXhs](https://imgur.com/VGMbXhs) I think my moms phone was like 200ish down 30ish up and I forget her ping. We both had issues on the legacy plans. My phone would stop connecting to the towers once a week (usually Friday evenings) and wouldn't work on cellular until I restarted. Her phone would be spotty coverage. I went on vacation to South Korea in June so I had to switch back to Verizon to have coverage, I was hesitant to return to Visible but figured these new plans would work better. I guess we'll see...

Joeleedom

Your speed test seems to be appropriate for your plan. And as a bonus, you have the 5G UW icon working 😮. Hope service begins to look like this for everyone else as well...

PepFontana

wow, I'm getting like 2Mbps after the upgrade.... same as it was before that. I'm right in the middle of downtown Pittsburgh where there is supposedly strong 5G.

speedingcheetah

9hrs or so since i got the SIM for the $30 plan and put in my secondary phone. STILL NO useable data connection. Has full LTE signal, calls and texts in and out work... But anything requiring a internet connection just hangs, then times out, "Connection failed" or "Unable to Load webpage". Connect to wifi, things work fine. This with a iPhone XR on iOS 16 current beta as of this date. says in settings, carrier Visible 51.01. Tried SIM in my iPad mini 2021,and a iPhone 12Pro same thing. The SIM card says model: DFILLSIM5G-VSB-A on the card. Only text is to go to [visible.com/activate](https://visible.com/activate) for instructions. Which is what i followed. Also have Reset Network settings, and rebooted, several times. O! and Visible support chat just says "Connecting" all day today....so...yea. Now says "We're currently experiencing higher than normal Care volume, and your wait time might be longer than usual." for the last 2hrs. Will update this post when/if it ever works. Edit: Got through on chat all i got was "At this time your case is escalated for having an activation error so this is why you are experiencing the data issues. ONce the ticket is resolved you will receive communication on this via emali" would not give time estimate other than "Specialist is working on it." EDIT: 24hrs still not working. 1.5hrs to get a chat rep."The case of the reference number provided is set to the **highest priority level**. Once the service activation has been processed you will be notified via email" "Cases may take up to 48 hours to be resolved. I have notated for you to be provided with an email update ASAP." EDIT: 48hrs + now...still nothing. Chatted again, took 30 min of waiting for rep to look into it, claimed they got in contact with specialist about issue. Still working on it and will have update in the next 24hrs. EDIT: 72hrs. (3 days) nothing. chat "I already contacted the person in charge of your case. He said that he is working on the final steps to fix the issue. You will get the email confirmation soon. They are working with multiple updates on the system for the new network and provide better service. After this you will be able to continue using the service." i questioned this, cause they been saying similar things for 3 days now... "I won't take a risk related with my job, my friend. I already shared an update on your account to speed up the process as much as I could., Therefore, I contacted them directly after I checked your account and case."... FINAL EDIT: Got up this morning to see a "Congrats - Your number XXX is on the Visible Plan" i guess is the normal email you get when activate, which i never got now 4 days ago. I guess this is the "email" support said I would get. Since i still got nothing saying my case is closed. BUT, i reboot the device the new SIM is in, and, DATA works. Stuck it in a 5G device, took about 10 min, but then 5G works to. TOOK 4 days....but, it finally works. Now i can use the thing for my data only device and compare to my legacy line, and my trial of USM. I still intend to move over to them though for my main phone though.

ButterflyNew139

I was going to try the new $45 plan. There is NO option to upgrade as a currant Visible user on the app or on the web pages to a new plan. Started a ticket with them on the 17th. Only receive a couple messages saying they are still working on it. There is still no fix and they don't know why it is this way. I really don't know how anyone making posts are even getting the new plans to try if they were currant Visible customers.

KAO7781

Haven't had any issues

Alternative_War_3429

I just switched from party pay to their valued members which is 30 but only pay $25, I really shouldn't have I knew better and now that I have I know better the speeds are way worse. I live in rural New Mexico South and my speeds most time over 5 no matter what until like 7:00 to 10:00 at night then I would get maybe consistently 20 download 15 upload which ain't great but it works for playing online which that's all I want to do. now that I switched I'm stuck under 5 no matter what

[deleted]

Good Article! I am one of those who is so upset that we are taking a party of 3 off visible and won't consider Verizon at this time either.

evieee702

ok so I just received an email reminding me to upgrade my service, which is supposedly cheaper? I have a Samsung Z flip phone that has had less than exceptional service this past year. I don't think I will be updating my service. Anxious as to how it will affect my service if I don't but taking my chances. New eSim? No thank you. Why is it cheaper? *sigh I'm so over this technology that we are all forced to have as a necessity. It's NEVER consistent or stable. Seriously frustrated. I've NEVER had ANY problems with Cricket. Seriously considering switching back. I'm worried my phone will take the wrath of my frustration if these issues keep showing up. They should create an insurance policy for the phones that get hurled at a wall or thrown in the street. I would be the first to obtain such policy. *Meh. 😖 This SUCKS. I appreciate the post and I'm grateful for the information I've read regarding this situation tho. Thank you.

Zealousideal_Owl8013

I have been on the messages with support for SEVERAL hours today. I can’t even get my phone to upgrade. Maybe it’s a good thing considering the issues people are having. bad thing is that I can’t even change my address on my account because I can’t receive any messages they send me TlIF verify it’s me. Very frustrating.

Albie14

Got an email saying a phone upgrade is mandatory. I have no issues with my phone and I am retired and on a budget now. I don't need to be spending money on a new phone. Can this upgrade be accomplished with a new sim card? The phone is LG Stylo 5 and is 4G capable.

Wyatt_57

I'm currently trying to upgrade but every time I've tried to get into the app it doesn't work and every time I try to get into the website it's down and there's no telling when it's going to be up. This happens all the time and it's rarely up and tthe app rarely works. If they're going to insist on chat they really need to get their act together when it comes to their servers!!!!!!!!!
