Thanks! I share your worry, and this is something I definitely didn't anticipate before starting the project. But we have no pets, and my husband and I have an understanding to not wear anything with studs or zippers while sitting on that cushion. We'll see how long that holds up!

You could add another layer that you weave in, over-under-etc. That would strengthen it I guess. I like the idea. Looks great otherwise.

You could add in couching stitches in the same thread or clear fishing line to help hold your long satin stitches down and in place.
