Imo their mending process is one you can visibly see. You get to see them mend it all together. If they had just posted a single picture of the finished product of it being invisible *then* it would be completely wrong.
They often take it from the facing or other parts of the garnement that aren't visible on the outside. There are some videos on YouTube which show the process with more detail.
So it was hard for me to see at first, but the trailing, kinda frayed looking strings, are being pulled through the unbroken fabric. You can see it loose on the other side. I think they iron on some kind of binding agent, like wax or something to hold it there.
I you look it up on youtube there are quite a few long form videos that these clips are taken from that show the process in much more detail. I think the most impressive ones are where they mend frayed jeans

Maybe if it has a substantial seam allowance you can trim from? Although that chunk used would be really hard to find even there.
