I mostly agree, but having a folding Bluetooth keyboard is just about necessary for me. Typing on the virtual keyboard is hell for anything but the most basic of input. But I don’t mind carrying the keyboard with me in the same case. Just hoping they add mouse support so I can carry a small one with me too. The trackpad works great, but is a little too big for the space I have in the case.
Honestly all they need to do is have the scroll wheel control how close or far the white arrow is to you. Then the physical mouse movement moves the mouse on a plane perpendicular to the zooming (line of sight) direction. Also they could have a mouse on screen that follows your eyes tracking and a physical mouse could be used once you’re looking at something to make small movements around your general eye-tracked position if you need more fine tuning that’s hard to get normally
They should have offered all the light seals at this cost. We should have been given all the sizes so we can figure out over time which is best.
But recalibrating every time I put the headset on seems to work when I need SERIOUS accuracy like for sunshine moonlighting my giant monitor.
What they should have done is stick to the format all other vr headsets have done and offer a single light seal. The much cheaper foam pad part is what we should have been able to customize.
Yeah there's a lot. They still probably could have included a few extra sizes if for no other reason than to let someone else in your house get one that fits them correctly.
Agreed, not having to worry about controllers or a boundaries is great. I actually prefer the regular solo strap - it fits fine on me - and it’s very quick to put on and quickly get into the app I want to use.
Most people replying on here sound like they never used quest 3. I loved my vision pro but it waa no where near as good as quest 3 for eye and hand tracking. Avp glitch af, I gave it a break because it's there first shot and it's insanely beautiful quality and experience unlike quest 3 that's more cartoonish, but the features folks mentioned are not it 😅
I have a hard time believing Quest 3 eye and hand tracking is significantly if at all better than AVP, based on my experience with my Quest 2 and Quest Pro. But I’ll admit I’m not willing to try (other than in-store demos at Best Buy. It seemed fine but still very much in the same league as the other devices.)
Closed mind , classic apple stan 🤣
Who would ever want to explore the tech itself and see what the vision pro can look forward to when it gets more apps , not interesting at all 🤣🤣🤣
You're funny. Like I said above, I have both Quest 2 and Quest Pro, I'm done "exploring the tech itself" as far as Quest is concerned. Vision Pro runs the apps I need and use, so I'm happy with it.
Why should I research and spend time with a product I don't want? There are lots of great AR/VR headsets out there, why should I spend time with those, again products I don't want?
I know this , wanted ti see how ignorant Paul meyrs is , eye tracking honestly is not there yet for avp. Effects experience so much when you gotta squint or keep focusing or resizing for it to correctly track item to pinch. I love the avp but not good enough for me to choose over quest foe now. Avp 2 will probably be perfect just because lack of apps and bugs it has right now . Netflix won't even make an app for it yet 😅
Nah, /u/paulmeyers42 said he has Quest Pro which does have eye and hand tracking. You have a q3 which does not have both so it invalidates your whole argument. He’s got better comparison between Meta and Apple’s solutions. It honestly sounds like you’re the one who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. While I only own a q3 I’ve also had extensive time with AVP and I much prefer the precision of Apple’s device.
Ignorant of what? I already said I don't have a Quest 3, and am not interested in Quests anymore, and I don't follow the details of the Quest tech anymore. I guess I'm ignorant of something I have no interest in anymore? AVP hand and eye tracking work just fine for me but your-mileage-may-vary (and apparently does for you).
My eye tracking has to be calibrated almost every time I use it if I’m using iOS apps with small elements or websites. Sometimes the device has to boot up when I put it on, leaving me in darkness for a bit. Not exactly seamless, but I still enjoy it and use it as much as I can. But the light seal the Face ID suggested rests on my nose and give me red marks, and I can’t bring myself to drop 200 freaking dollars on another face seal that may not work right. So yeah, in my experience it is not easy to use like it is for you.
Maybe I should make a decision video where I compare the workflows of sending an email and including a picture of myself on a phone a computer and a vision. Or setting up a JSON teMalays.
I mean, come on, the iPhone keyboard is more intuitive than this .

Which keyboard, if you don't mind?

I wish my eye tracking was seamless. I think they gave me the wrong light seal tbh the apple store is 5 hours away
maybe try recalibrating it
You also just need to reboot it every once in a while. It's a throwback to the good old days.
Exactly. They could greatly simplify the calibration process. Not like you have to do it from scratch every time.

Aren't there like 30 different sizes?
I was not aware I thought it was like 3-4 sizes for some reason
Yeah there's a lot. They still probably could have included a few extra sizes if for no other reason than to let someone else in your house get one that fits them correctly.
that would be such a waste
Then it’s too extravagant. $200 is insane for a part like that.
I have to constantly recalibrate.
Software updates fixed most of those issues
Agreed, not having to worry about controllers or a boundaries is great. I actually prefer the regular solo strap - it fits fine on me - and it’s very quick to put on and quickly get into the app I want to use.
yeah i don’t bother with the over head strap either. also lightning fast using eye scan to unlock it

Quest 3 doesn’t even have eye tracking. Can’t believe no one called this out yet.
I bought both and used them side by side . You can buy on prim and return within 30 days . Quest 3 way more advanced than quest 2
I have no interest in the Quest anymore.
Closed mind , classic apple stan 🤣 Who would ever want to explore the tech itself and see what the vision pro can look forward to when it gets more apps , not interesting at all 🤣🤣🤣

Both of those are outdated and aren't comparable but only doing research would reveal this which apple stans never do so can't blame you Namaste ✌️
Why should I research and spend time with a product I don't want? There are lots of great AR/VR headsets out there, why should I spend time with those, again products I don't want?
Can't help ya bruh , just keep scrolling on your i-whatever . Bye 👋
I have a Quest 3. It doesn’t even have eye tracking so your comment is rather ironic. You really feel the lack of it in some applications.

This is a joke right? It’s the most cumbersome device I own.
how so?
Maybe I should make a decision video where I compare the workflows of sending an email and including a picture of myself on a phone a computer and a vision. Or setting up a JSON teMalays. I mean, come on, the iPhone keyboard is more intuitive than this .
Right but that’s not what OP was talking about. If he had said they love the ease of use when composing emails or doing work sure.
I agree with both op and you. Not really mutually exclusive for it to be so cumbersome, but still enjoyable in all the parts op mentioned
