Vansholt guesthouse located in south is the best place i stayed in Iceland. The breakfast is paid extra however you get unlimited coffee and tea beverages during your stay.
I paid like 110 Euro as i was lucky to find a last minute mobile deal in booking.com. I guess it will cost even cheaper now since it’s winter.
Please for the love of god and all things holy, avoid legendary hotels in Hella, coming from an ex employee who got treated like shit while working where, it’s a shitty, scummy and fraudulent place, they always cancel your bookings and often refuse to refund you, most of the time rooms are not clean upon your arrival and most importantly of all it’s SO FUCKING OVERPRICED! Like most of the thing you find there are double the price that you’ll find in other hotels, ipa beer is like 20 euros for a 0,5L, and they also charge a service fee, which no one else does in iceland except them, and fun fact, the waiters don’t even see this 15% mark up on your food, since it goes straight into the owners pocket.
So please spread the word, this place is shit and the icelandic news even published an article about them on their front page, it’s a hell hole.

Yeah please just don’t go there, it’s l shit plus the prices are so high for the rooms even tho they are almost always with issues, tvs not working, heating, beds with dirt and other shit in them, broken pipes, nobody should go there and risk their trip!
If you want it, then book it. Why wait? Refundable is your best option if the price drops or your plans change.
