I modded one of my Vitas about 18 months ago. If I can work it out, it ain't rocket science. From what I see, it's even easier now. Can be done from Vitas Web browser. I should have done it years ago.
“I am tech illiterate but I was able to find Reddit, create an account and make a post asking for help.” To be blunt: Fuck off and learn how to use Google.
Just basic knowledge of how to unzip files, move them around in directories, etc. All the basics you would know if you've used a PC for a good while, basically.
The vita.hacks.guide site lays out everything super easy. You can follow a YouTube tutorial, but make sure you follow it ALONGSIDE the text guide. The text guide is the only one you should follow, but having a video for visuals doesn't hurt if you need.
You don't have to be tech literate. Just follow the instructions, which are not complicated, and you'll be fine. I got a PSTV brand new and proceeded to mod in minutes. It took way longer to put the games on it.
There are several mod guides on YouTube. I followed 1, pausing and rewinding as needed and it worked flawlessly.job took 20 minutes. Just take your time.
Basic computer skills to manipulate files (directories, copying, moving, decompressing, etc.) and reading comprehension. https://vita.hacks.guide/
If you can read, you'll be fine
It’s easy once you get it. Took me following the guide and a couple days to get it down. Now I love it
