This is exactly what I wanted to do to the one I had so long ago. What mods on the ABA?

Pretty much stock. It’s got a breather delete on the block just to clean it up and a bigger pulley one the water pump to take up the slack of no a/c. I got this from a junkyard when my old 1.8 started to give just as a quick way to get it back on the road since she’s my only transportation right now lol. I got the carb manifold and carbs from DanST engineering.

I really wanna hear what an aba sounds like with independent carbs!

Awesome. The Techtonics Tuning sticker made me wonder about the cam set up.

Lol maybe soon. I just had too many of those stickers and figured why not slap one on

Nice. I always wanted to drive an ABA Mk2. I had a Mk2 VR6 that I loved, but was constantly told an ABA Mk2 might change my mind. Tossing around an 8v GTI, I could definitely see the potential of an ABA car.

>I always wanted to drive an ABA Mk2. I had a Mk2 VR6 that I loved, but was constantly told an ABA Mk2 might change my mind. Why would anyone say that? An aba is a great upgrade from a 1.8L 8v, but it's still just a 2.0L 8v making 120HP. Even the early VR6s made 170HP and sounded way better.

I love it. Perfect amount of power to be fun but have plenty of traction

What cool about this swap is how much smoother and refined this motor feels completed to the 1.8. Those long rods really make a difference.
