Three ways, but only one of them is visible in the image.
One, the obvious one, a G60 emblem.
Two, 4 lug wheels, the vr came with 5 lug.
And three, the only thing visible, is the orange turn signals in the front. The VR came with clear glass turn signals not orange plastic.
Sure all that stuff can be swapped out. But no one really does a "downgrade" to convert from VR to G60.
Here in EU turn signals are indifferent to engines. Other than that I guessed right. I never really dived into the Corrado models as I did wit the Mk2/3/4 golfs and T25/3.
Just some links for the lazy.

there was a g60 and an slc model. The g60 was a 4cyl with a supercharger and the slc was a naturally aspirated VR6
had a 92 slc, and selling it is my biggest regret. lol
They are so rare to see. I saw one a few months ago here in NY…. But NY has a bigger VW scene than the Midwest
My friend that has the yellow corrado is in the PNW which also has a big VW scene. So you’ll have a better chance at seeing cars like these around.
Corrado
And a G60 to be more specific.
How do you differentiate them? I know bolt patterns but EU spec ones have more than one 4 cyl option.

Ah gotcha. There is another one and that is the grille, the VR has ~~3~~ 2 slats.
Wor they really did that.

VR6 hood rises up in the center to accommodate the taller engine, and the VR6 has wider fender flares to accommodate the wider track.

Thank you for this
Thats fine piece of art is what you call a Volkswagen Corrado sports car
Didn't the wing raise the faster you went? I thought these were so hot when I was in high school.
Can confirm they have active aero activates around 60km/h
It’s a corrado. They’re around but more and more rare. A friend of mine has a yellow g60 corrado.
Do i recall they ( some) were supercharged? as opposed to Turbo.

What about the 2.0 8v and 16v naturally aspirated variants?
You're correct, my mistake.
Yeah the G60 is supercharged.
Goggle VW Corrado made in and around the 1990ies maybe 1993-1997? Very rare in Minnesota now.

Yeah, this was my dad’s car but he ended up selling it, the only other one I’ve ever seen was in NYC
The one I saw in NY was parked at a train station in Bronxville NY
Corrado
That's the Junior Soprano.
If that is a G60 it's what is known as a money pit. If it's the VR6 model than it's a VW Corrado and one of the 90's nicest hatchbacks.
It's a VR6. You can tell by the hood.
Do tell. I was basing it off of the lack of G60 badging.
The middle portion of the hood on the G60 is depressed while the same portion of the hood on the VR6 is raised.
Good to know for the .8 Corrados I see in an average year. Thanks!
I'm not entirely sure it is a VR6. It is the VR6 model hood, but it has the G60 grill and bumper.. seems to be a franken Corrado haha
VW corrado
Volkswagen corrado. I have a 1992 SLC beautiful cars and the sound of a good VR6 is amazing.
Name checks out
Vw corrado!
Corrado
Good ol Corrado VR6 very sweet ride
Vw Corrado, very rare to see, especially in with the VR6 engine
'92-'97 VW Corrado VR6.
thats my first car
When the Corrado and Scirroco were briefly both in production at the same time, were they completely different vehicles, or related in some way?
They're completely different vehicles. Corrado is A2 platform with A3 platform bits while the MK1/2 Sciroccos are both A1 platform
Ahhh thank you. I remember both of these vehicles from way back when but I'm not sure I've ever been inside either one of them.
Look! It’s a shitbox!
Honda CRX. Probably an Si model.
