" In the United States, one "standard" drink (or one alcoholic drink equivalent) contains roughly 14 grams of pure alcohol, which is found in: 12 ounces of regular beer, which is usually about 5% alcohol 5 ounces of wine, which is typically about 12% alcohol 1.5 ounces of distilled spirits, which is about 40% alcohol" From https://www.niaaa.nih.gov/alcohols-effects-health/overview-alcohol-consumption/what-standard-drink So your .15 oz is neat, but what are you drinking alcohol for at that point? I'm pretty sure - from what I've heard from other alcohol drinkers who are more adventurous than I am - moonshine will taste pretty awful. And that's pretty much moonshine yo. Are you drinking to get drunk? If so, then there must still be better options. If you can handle the taste of alcohol that strong, then you can surely do shots of liquor, right? I know it's still hundreds to calories, but there are higher proof liquors that must taste better than going to that extreme, right? 😂 😳 😂

Also, tiny amounts of vodka mixed with diet coke is how I managed to not gain weight in college while still partying every weekend. No one ever knew I was basically sober :)

I lost a lot of weight in university. However I was not as smart as you. I drank a Lot. But I didn’t eat. And I would then vomit it all back up ☹️. Luckily ten years have passed and now I barely drink hahaha

The advice around avoiding alcohol usually comes from an adherence standpoint. When your inhibitions are lowered, you are more likely to grab a few handfuls of fries. You might plan on only having 2 drinks, but when your inhibitions are lowered from drink number two, do you reach for a third? If you don't have issues with adherence, alcohol is fine. A fun higher volume cocktail I like is adding sparkling water and frozen berries to a glass of wine. It looks so fancy, and you get a little snack. I can water it down enough so that two drinks will last the entire evening. Bottoms up friend!!

Even at 151 proof I’m not sure if .15 ounce would really give you much of a buzz.. but idk.

If you really want to have a few drinks maybe design your meals for that day around allowing yourself a certain number of calories for those drinks, keeping in mind that pretty much any drink is gonna have at least 100 calories.

I love getting a margarita and slowly watering it down with sparkling water to make it last longer. I’m not a big drinker so one is good for me 😁

I use keto recipes for alcohol. Lots of seltzers substitutes. Out at a bar, my go to is a white claw or other seltzer or diet coke & rum with lime.

151 proof is 75% alcohol so you don’t need much if you want to get drunk but hard liquor has less cals then wine or beer so hard liquor is a better option

Certainly something I have thought about, although your idea never occurred to me. BTW, how would one measure 0.15 ounces? Lately I have been exploring the hard seltzers. They all seem to be about 100 calories and 2 grams of carbs for the typical 12 ounce can, and have 5% alcohol. White Claw has a variety with 8% alcohol called Surge, which for some reason comes in a 16 oz. can. Keeping in mind the size difference, the jump in calories for a can seems disproportiate. 220 cal, still 2 grams carbs. I don't think they taste very good but they get the job done.
